Best Western Plus Gateway Siesta Key Hotel - סרסוטה

I had a great experience with this hotel. Breakfast was delicious, rooms were nice and clean, friendly staff, and it was in a great location minutes away from Siesta Key Beach. The only thing remotely negative I can say is that the room was quite small, but for 2 people it was totally fine.

Nice hotel only 5 minute drive to Siesta Key area. Great breakfast included.

This hotel is very close to the beaches in Siesta Key (about 5 minutes). It is also close to restaurants (many within walking distance). The hotel was very clean and the service was great. Overall, the value of the hotel is fantastic. The only thing we were slightly unhappy with is the garbage trucks that come early in the mornings. Many of the rooms are facing the parking lot and we heard the garbage truck come in every morning. Overall, the value and location of the hotel outweigh this. I would definitely return!

Bathrooms not very clean. Lots of hair left in bathroom. Air conditioner system really loud. Hard to sleep with so much noise and system coming on and going off all night. Photos selling the hotel are masterful. Rooms are quite a bit smaller than they appear on the site. Lucky only two night stay. The room description indicated "pool side room" - true statement only in the fact we were on the same side of the hotel as the pool. Very clever marketing. Will not return.

I stayed at BW Siesta for a three day stay. It says Siesta Key but it is actually 4 miles or so from Siesta Bay. The area of the hotel itself is a traffice nightmare- I crossed the street once by foot and it was quite an adventure. But it is a quick drive to the beach at Siesta and 10 minute drive to Siesta town- a place with mediocre and horribly overpriced restaurants. It is a very nice town to walk around, however.The hotel was clean and the service was adequate. The desk staff was generally helpful- as long as they were not busy with other details. The breakfast buffet was good enough- they even had whole wheat bread! The fruit, however, was full of rinds and very unripe. The beds were too soft for me. Oh- one very important detail. The GARBAGE TRUCK came by every morning at about 7 am to empy garbage. You will wake up from this noise- guaranteed. If you want to be close to the beach this is an OK choice. But if you want to be nearer to downtown Sarasota- my preference next time- there are more convenient choices.

housekeeping was very inconsistent. too few clean towels, no bedding for pullout, someone else's hair in the bathroom area.

If you are looking for a great place to stay, not far away from the beach (5 minute drive) and pay little bit less then beach front hotels - this is the place to be!! I would decifinately come back and stay here!!! Everything is clean , staff is great, bed are comfortable. Breakfast is tasty!!

The room was horrible. Staff was too busy flirting with each other. They put us in the wrong room. We asked for a later check out. Low and behold after they put us in the wrong room they didn't change the late check out either. Then we got a nasty call on Sunday that checkout was at 11

nice hotel, nice pool, great breakfast. shuttle to the beach. walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops

Close to everything we come to Sarasota for.

It ain't called the "gateway" for nothing -- it's right off the bridge from Siesta Beach. If you are a fussy traveler, and expect a 5 star hotel, this isn't your place. But they provide solid service and accomodations that are well worth the daily rate. The Staff is kind and helpful, the pool, while needing a few more chaise lounges, is a nice retreat. The rooms are clean and not so small that you feel crowded inside. The beds are of that soft nature that contemporary people seem to prefer. Lets face it, when was the last time you found a hotel with a truly firm mattress? The hotel is sited on the highway, so this is either an advantage or not, depending on your desires. Breakfast is included; the food is mediocre; but guests seem to put it away anyhow. One downside is that there is not enough seating in the breakfast room. A few outdoor tables placed in the adjoining courtyard would alleviate this, at least on any sunny day. All in all, it's always a pleasure to stay here.

pleasantly surprised. staff was warm and welcoming, cookies were gone at 10pm when I arrived to check in, but they found a few in the back for me!above and beyond normal service.Breakfast was awesome! I ate twice as I didn't check out until 11.bed was comfy.

Considering location close to Siesta Key, great place especially if family member has a place on the beach. Good, friendly service.

Stayed there for one night on Friday waiting for one week condo rental that started Saturday. Very nice quiet place. Staff very friendly and breakfast was excellent. Would recommend to anyone.

great facility. well kept. very comfortable bed. one thing i noticed was the tub spout diverter is malfunctioning. this is wasting 75% of the water in the shower. otherwise a great choice for my stay. it was my second stay in a year.

Our stay with you was you was very pleasant. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the pool area was lovely...our room very comfortable. If I could make one comment it would be that there didn't seem to be enough seating in the breakfast area. Out of our 9 day stay, we were only able to sit at a table twice. Otherwise, we were very happy and would most definitely recommend your hotel to friends and family and would book with you again.

Staff was perfect. Hotel is in the heart of Sarasota within the immediate proximity of Siesta Key. We were on vacation, but didn't want to spend a fortune on beach front. This hotel is comfortable, convenient and clean. Perfect alternative to overpriced upscale hotels. And use your savings to go have fun on your vacation.

Rooms very clean, walking distance to many great restaurants, shopping, and siesta beach. Breakfast was FABULOUS. Friendly staff and rates were reasonable. I will definately stay here again on my next trip to Sarasota.

Liked the free cookies and lattes/ hot chocolate and the breakfast included was the best I've had in any hotel.

It appears that the hotel is going through some updating which is a good thing. I was disappointed during my 2 night stay because my room was not cleaned and when I contacted the front desk about it they said the cleaning staff had left for the day. Also the breakfast staff was kinda unprofessional. Breakfast ended that day at 9:30am and right at 9:30 on the dot she announced to the guest in the room very loudly "BREAKFAST IS OVER AT 9:30" so the guest would leave the area so she could remove the food and clean up.

Nice accommodations. Continental breakfast was great. Fitness center was small but nice equipment. Very nice staff. Nice stay.

I recently had to stay in sarasota and obtained a room through hotels.com. It was a king bed and very spacious. The best part was I got in late, and requested a late checkout which I got by joining their vip club. I felt the cost was a little high for what it was, but I would stay there again.

All of the basic needs were met. This motel did have internet with a changing password.

The staff was very professional, and eficient. room was clean and the fridge was a great help. The A/c was noisy enitialy but calmed down after a while. good location for Siesta key.

HAD THE BATHTUB NOT DRAIN,,,ALSO HAD TOILET OVERFLOW AT 1AM NOT NICE IN MIDDLE OF NIGHT TO BE AWAKEN BY RUNNING WATER EVERYWHERE AND MAINTENANCE PEOPLE ALL OVER

Not right on the beach, but it's close enough and the price makes it worth it.

My experience on this hotel was nice, I stayed 3 nights and the best thing I like was the breakfast buffet, i mean really really good you can save some money on that, the check in was fast and easy, the room look to me small but was nice and clean, the TV needs to be updated kind of old, the only bad thing was the bed wasn't to comfortable at least on that room 303 maybe the mattress needs to be changed but other than that the hotel is in good condition and good location close to 5 min driving to the beach and a walking distance to many stores and restaurants. Overall I really recomended good hotel!!

Ok, I decided to be risk adverse in my hotel choice. Well, little did I know, I took a risk. The hotel grounds and common areas were fine and well kept. However, the room was very dated, old, and not very clean. I was not comfortable in this room. The bedding was one of the worst I have experienced. The pillows were knotted balls. The bed felt lopsided. I would not stay there again. Sorry Holiday Inn Express :(

Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Good selection for breakfast and constantly replenished. Even though there were a lot of kids staying for a volleyball tournament, it was still quiet. Appreciated that. The only thing I could say in the negative is the hot tub's jets were not working well.

The front desk folks were all very helpful and polite. The breakfast was very good, with a good variety. The pool and hot tub were nice. Overall, a very nice visit.

Only problem was that i asked for the rooms to be next dorr to each other. i was told they would be but thery were not.

We enjoyed our stay. King bed was amazingly comfortable, complimentary breakfast was delicious and free USA Today was much appreciated. Would definitely stay there again.

Out-dated, rooms worn looking, overpriced. Noisy, pool not clean. Door locks did not operate most of the time, had difficulty getting into room.
