everything went well, the hotel was pretty good except for the failing AC. But the service was very prompt and were able to fix it right away.

We really enjoyed our stay at Gild Hall. The rooms were large (for NYC), very clean and delightfully quiet. The staff was helpful and unobtrusive. And the location was pretty decent. The only downsides: Valet parking is expensive. You have to pay for Internet. And our room lacked any extras that you'd normally find in similar hotels (more than 2 towels, coffee maker/tea pot, microwave, tissue boxes on the night stand).

My partner and I have stayed in Thompson Hotels all over the world, so we were incredibly surprised to be so let down by this dud of a property. Let me tell you, the lobby is gorgeous and its hotel bar and restaurant are extremely well appointed, but the rooms in this location are bland, boring and not worth the money. We also had problems with one very rude front office staff, and housekeeping. (We were told they had problems with too many late check outs, and not enough cleaning staff--- that is why our rooms wen't cleaned until at least 5 pm one evening, and don't even think about an early check in --despite what they may tell you in advance.) There are lots of lovely places to stay in NYC, and I recommend seeking them out over this place.

It was a great hotel except for the bathrooms. The see through doors are not at all a great idea for families or people that are sharing a room.

The hotel is beautiful, the staff is very kind, the location is excellent but hard for car service to find because the address is not accurate for the front entrance. I've stayed at this property twice now. First time the staff forgot to call to wake me up two days in a row! They have an antiquated wake up call system -- the staff does it, but they are never on time with it. First time they were a half hour late, second time a full hour late. This most recent time I stayed there, the staff was 10 minutes late with the wake up call. I will bring two alarm clocks if I ever stay there again. If you're a heavy sleeper, DON'T rely on their wake up service!

From the time I was met by the Valet, until the time I checked out, leaving the Valet - my stay was solid. Great location for the purposes of my downtown business trip, staff was courteous and very helpful throughout my 3 day, two night stay. Felice was a great spot to eat dinner and have a couple of drinks. The hotel is close to so much down town, I found it easy to walk around and run into many things to do. Downtown is a great NYC experience, if you have never, you must. The room was comfortable as well. I would stay here again.

I like the feel of the hotel and the amenities were fine. There is a feeling of a being in a european hunting lodge. The only issue was the bathroom door is somewhat see through and this made the female members of the group uncomfortable. The hotel is in the finacial district and there isn't to much to see around it but is not too far from the subway. So, If your not in town for buisness it still is a good place to stay for leisure if you get it at a good price.

We love staying at Gild Hall. The staff is always welcoming and professional, the rooms are impeccable, and the services & amenities are luxurious without being fussy. The atmosphere is comforting and cozy, with masculine motifs without being uptight or overwhelming. The hotel feels like a modernized English hunting lodge - Downton Abbey meets Hotel Babylon, for you British TV fans. Absolutely love this hotel; our favorite in downtown Manhattan.

This is an incredible hotel. The charming, efficient staff will do everything in their power to accommodate you. It's stylish and elegant without being over priced and pretentious. My boss is 7 months pregnant and often has to fly in from CA on the 'red eye'. The management has no issues with having a room prepared for her at 7:00 am (without an extra charge) There's a great coffee bar in the lobby and Felice Restaurant is part of the building.

A bit difficult to get to but well worth the effort. Room small but very comfortable. Excellent restaurant in premises. Very convenient to all destinations in the financial district.

Sandy took its toll on the hood. But this hotel seemed tired without the hurricane. Probably not stay there again.

Staff nice and helpful. Easy to subway. Location will be better whe storm Sandy is all cleaned up. Included breakfast (deal when I booked) was nice. Hotel will probably be more expensive whe Trade Ctr reopens.

Television was erratic---difficult to change stations and volume No free Wi-fi?? This is 2012 Otherwise, it was all good.

Friendly, helpful staff, great room (for the low price I paid) and I loved the location. I was dubious about staying around Wall St at the weekend, but it's great spot - you can walk over the Brooklyn Bridge which is nearby, or you can jump on the subway at Fulton and be anywhere uptown in a matter of minutes. By far the best hotel I've stayed at in Manhattan in that price range.

Would come back again. Pretty good value.

Really thought this would be nicer for 4 star. Kind of like a more decorated holiday inn. If you need to be in this hood, go to the Andaz.

Gild Hall is extreme beautiful. Upon entering the building you get the feeling of being in a Colorado hunting lodge. Rustic decor, animal furs, and a Western US appeal welcome you. On top of that, the service was exceptional. On a scale of 1-10, I would recommend this hotel to others, my answer is 9.5!

Stayed there for one night. Great location, great room, Great service. New fav hotel in NYC

My husband and I spent the weekend in NYC. Our purpose was to see NYC as opposed to remaining in a hotel room. The Gild Hall was so close to restaurants and diners; all open as well as the subway. We really enjoyed our stay there. And yes, even Starbucks is 10 seconds away! My only complaint is one expressed by many. The door to the washroom is not a solid door. My husband was not well Saturday night and everytime he went into the washroom the whole room lit up when he turned the washroom light on.

Quality accommodations. Would definitely stay there again.

First class in every way. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The ammenities were excellent, the location perfectly located for our needs. This will be our first choice from now on when visiting NYC.

It's a nice hotel. The bed was comfortable and they have a nice sized TV.

We usually visit NYC 2 times a year to take in a show and dinner, so we stay near Times Square. We stayed at the Gild Hotel due to its proximity to a family wedding.. The service and the room ( a beautiful, spacious suite) exceeded our expectations. I have never slept in a more comfortable bed...including my own.The front desk service was top notch .

As a business traveler, this hotel provided a great clean and modern room with more space than expected for an outstanding price. Location was great as well....right in the heart of the financial district.

Good location for my business meeting. Very friendly staff. Good options for breakfast. This is my 2nd stay & I will go back. Good location for tourist visiting Wall St., 9/11 site etc.

The staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. We enjoyed our walk to the South St. Seaport. Did not have enough time to explore many other interesting sights in the area but will during our next visit.

This was a great hotel. Beautiful and masculine which is unusual. The service was excellent and I would certainly stay again. Financial district does not have a lot going on at night but the hotel has a nice bar and the south street sea port is near as are multiple train lines.

The hotel was really nice... My only thing I did. It like was the glass doors for the bathroom... I kind of like my privacy... So we had to take the throw blanket connected too two hangers and use that to cover the doors...

Excellent room and a peaceful stay with attention paid to the two of us.

At first I was hesitant about staying in the financial district of NY, but was pleasantly surprised. The neighborhood was very quiet Fri.-Sun. and we felt safe walking around to local cafes, grocery store, the South Street Seaport boardwalk area, and even to Chinatown & Little Italy. The interior design of Gild Hall has lots of character and the multi-lingual staff was super friendly and helpful. At check-in the staff offered us complimentary glasses of champagne. The sheets were so soft and housekeeping promptly responded to all requests. We weren't thrilled about the transparency of the bathroom door, but the nice terrycloth robes helped with that issue. Thanks again for a great stay!

I ordered a premium smoking room. Upon arrival I was told that there are no more smoking rooms ( all though I reserved one) an was told that I was upgraded to a premium room from deluxe. The thing is ... I alleyway had reserved and paid for a premium. I was disappointed that i wasn't given a smoking room and had to come out to smoke. That was inconvenient. And also I think that the clerk should be aware that I've reserved a premium and not tell me that I was upgrade to one.

we spent friday and saturday nights at the hotel. There were a very few services on Saturday-the bar served a red wine that was not good. On Sunday my husband had to go to a coffee shop down the street to get coffee. Monday morning we had breakfast at the hotel and the service was terrible and the food was almost uneatable. Needless to say we will never stay at the hotel again.
