Travelodge Newport Area/Middletown - מידלטאון

Totally remodeled, extremely clean inside and out. A real bargain for the money and so close to pricey Newport, RI.

This motel's outside belies how nice it is. My wife and I were a little scared when we rolled in at midnight in a nothing-nearby neighborhood. However, our room was very clean and a lot nicer and more comfortable than we expected. The front desk staff was extremely helpful, the free breakfast was decent, and the location is great - we were in downtown Newport within 10 minutes. If you just need a bed to sleep in while visiting Newport, this is a great option!

Stayed only 1 night, but I was extremly impressed. The room that I stayed in looked like it was just redone. All the furniture and the carpet was new. The room looked like I was the first person to stay in it, thats how clean and updated it was. Breakfast was decent the following morning. The Hotel was in a good location at well.

This place was great for a last minute reservation I had to make for myself and 17 months old daughter. They brought in a crib within 10 minutes of our arrival and were nice and quite as I requested. The only real downsides I observed were: the black out shades still let in a lot of light and the lights outside the room were realllly brights, The bed was a little hard, I wish there was a comforter and not just a thin blanket and bed spread

Although there was some painting going on during my stay, the kind service well overwhelmed by any annoyance that would happen from a little wet paint. The staff was willing and able to bend to my needs; I had breakfast very early and they opened it just to accommodate me. The location was great in that it was right near the highway, the water and some great local food. I recommend this based upon my two night's stay.

I stayed during the off-season and was pretty much the only guest. I felt like I was going to be part of a horror movie or something. The manager acted like he upgraded me to a double room, when that's what I paid for. It was fine for a night stay, but wouldn't return. Breakfast was really scarce, but I was one of the very few guests.

Good: The staff people were very helpful and cooperative. Bad: The room didn't have enough light near the closet.

It was one of the worse hotels we ever stayed in. We checked in late and were told we were the last guest. It was summer and the a/c didnt work. When we complained the next morning, we were told that we should have said something during the night. We were moved to a renovated room 2 doors down with a new a/c system. They could have given us that room to start. The next day we were getting ready for a family wedding at 4 pm when they knocked on the door to clean the room. We never had the room cleaned. All in all very poor quality and customer service.

The hotel is very close to Newport RI and much more affordable than Newport hotels. This is reasonable if the main attraction is Newport. The hotel itself should not be the destination. The breakfast is spare. The rooms have thin walls. The doors are all exterior facing. You will hear anyone walking around or conversing in the parking lot. Don't look too closely at the condition of the building. Even though the housecleaners are doing their best, they cannot reverse the effects of aging and some shoddy maintenance attempts. It appears to be a privately owned hotel in which the owners are doing their best, but may need a bit more help and be willing to pay a bit more for repairs and upkeep. I could do this for one night, but not for 2.

I stayed here for 2 nights and it was a great value. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was great, as the place I proposed to my girlfriend was right down the street. And downtown Newport was just only 5 mins away. The price was good.

I stayed there many times. It is very close to Newport and very affordable. There is a swimming pool which is very clean and never crowded. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I will stay there again when I go to Newport next time.

I make an annual business trip to Newport in early August and have stayed at this Travel Lodge for probably ten years or so. They've recently remodeled which has improved the ambiance considerably, but frankly I'm only interested in an air conditioned clean room located near my business venue and this hotel fits the bill. There's free WiFi as well, which is a plus for me, though in the past I've noticed the closer to the Main Office the room the better the connectivity. This may have improved with the remodeling, though I can't say for sure since this year I was in a room relatively close to the Main Office. There's a free continental breakfast available as well, in a new dedicated dining room. (Before the remodeling the breakfast was served in the lobby).

Everything was as I expected. Clean room, enough towels, clean pool area and sufficient continental breakfast. What more do I need? This is a good value for the area and only ten minutes from everything. I would stay there again.

A little overpriced for this type of motel. Overall, it was clean enough for our two night stay. Only one bath, hand, face towel for each of us and one tiny bottle of shampoo and 2 small bars of soap. Trash cans weren't emptied while we were away from our room. Nor was our bed made up.

I feel that it was a little bit over priced for what you got.

The room was good but the pool was very dirty.

The hotel was wonderful. Beds comfortable, rooms clean. Very nice size bathroom. Check in was fine, but the room wasn't ready for almost an hour after stated time. Been to many hotels in this area and location very good for our needs. Will definitely stay again.

More of a motel so expensive for what it is, but I guess that's Newport. Close enough to Newport but it was hard to get a taxi back on a saturday night and its a 3.5 mile walk.

Hotel was adequate- we chose it mainly for the price- room was clean- property was in a convenient location- room was cleaned every day, fresh towels were left, however, towels were flimsy and bath towels were very small

we were first put in a horrible room - AC didn't work well, bathroom door looked like it had been kicked in. We moved rooms, and that room was much better, but still not worth the $$

hotel is fine,except for the birds that sit on the ac unit outside of room 221.

Room was dated. Need to get rid of bed spreads. Paint peeling in bathroom. Not great shower pressure. Hard to get temperature right. No digital thermostat. Lets face it this is a motel. For the $$ way overpriced. But considering its proximity to Newport and being Memorial Day weekend, they had a the upper hand. Continental breakfast was the only real plus.

room was not handed over on time, waited 2 hours, as they said they had less staff. not much service provided, its just "have a room and dont expect more attitude". rooms were clean and had fridge an microwave too. location was on highway but not close to downtown or major attractions.

I recently stayed at the hotel to enjoy some of Newports nightlife. The hotel served it purposed excellently. Beds were clean as well as all the rest of the room. The room even had a micro and fridge. Was it a plush 5star hotel...no but it was perfect for a night out on a budget.

I have never been disappointed when staying in a Travelodge and this was no exception. From the kindness of the man behind the counter, to the cleanliness of the room we were pleasantly surprised. The value exceeded the price of the room. Would stay again.
