recently updated. stayed there before while undergoing the renovations. very friendly staff who are more than accommodating. Historical building and they are happy to show you around! Will always stay there if the price is right!

Clean, beautiful, and you should be very proud of your employees! They are friendly, helpful and treated us like family. They made our stay special. There were 8 of us and we stayed 2 nights. We felt right at home. Unfortunately, they couldn't help the Giants. They lost ALL 3 games!!!

My husband and I spent a recent weekend at this hotel and had a very nice stay. The hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable. Our room was a little on the small side, however, it worked fine and we were happy with our stay. Bed was comfortable and we had only one little mishap when the maid forgot to clean our room. They responded to this very quickly though and all was well. We stay downtown from time to time and we will definitely keep this hotel in mind for a repeat stay.

Beautiful hotel, walking distance from everything. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We go to San Diego and always stay by Seaport Village, but we had such a great experience here I would definitely stay here again!

I was really surprised by how nice and modern this hotel was. It's an old bank which gives it a vintage vibe but the rooms are very well designed. The staff was incredibly helpful as well. My only complaint would be that valet parking for one night was a little too expensive. Other than that, it was great!

The front desk staff was very friendly and we had no complaints! We booked for the price but found the stay to be better than expected.

I was charged for smoking in the room because ashes were found although no smoking took place in the room!

What stood out was the excellent service provided by the entire staff. From the curb, to the front desk, to the maids, to the waiter in The Lounge, everyone went out of their way to really make a difference. The only "bad" part about staying there is having to deal with the parking, but that's going to be the same for any hotel downtown. I would definitely stay there again.

staff were great making the experience all the better. However, packing at $36.00 a day was a little steep.

The hotel was wonderful! It was a great place to stay following the cruise.

This hotel has been recently renovated and the rooms were spacious and upscale. What was particularly unique about it was that the building itself is an historic old structure with character while the inside was hip and modern. The staff was also very helpful, accommodating and enthusiastic.

The hotel is nice and in a decent area. There is food easily accessible, and all the clubs are down street, but they have valet and it is super expensive way more than a parking lot in LA, a night per car that is NOT included in the price or in your "amenities" that they charge you on top of the hotel rate.

Upon arriving at the Marriott San Diego we both were very impressed with the building. The location has tons of character and the vault room is pretty impressive. This is now one of our favorite locations i San Diego, we will be back to stay here again.

Very nice hotel. A renovated bank. Beautiful conversion to hotel. Only Valet parking, but there are nearby lots with in-and-out privileges. We had some billing problems, but the 3 staff members in front were able to solve it as a team. Very good service from valet, bellman, and housekeeping.

I had the best experience ever at a hotel! The quality of the rooms, the historic appeal of the "Living History" museum and the service was outstanding. We took a private tour of the hotel and were just amazed with the history. It's in the center of downtown which also makes it convenient. I highly recommend this to anyone and will definitely be back!!!

We stayed in a newly renovated room. It was beautiful, comfortable, and had a great layout. The bedding and bed were very comfortable. My borother and his girlfriend also stayed in the same hotel. Their room hadnt been renovated recently. The sheets were rough, the bed was uncomfortable, it looked like the 1970's threw up in there. In addition to all of that, my brothers gf got STUCK in the bathroom because the sliding door got jammed with loose molding around the door frame. If you book this hotel, you might want to request one of the renovated rooms!

This hotel was very nicely decorated with a beautiful lobby and sleek modern rooms. The only isse we had when we first arrived was trying to find the check in counter! Due to some construction occurring in the lobby the check in counter was in the back through a door where the elevators were so it was difficult for us to find. A suggestion would be to maybe put a sign up that says "check in this way" with arrows leading the guests to the check in counter. Other than that the hotel was very clean, great service, and located in the middle of all the gaslamp/downtown action, but still quiet in the rooms which was exactly what we were looking for!

Hotel staff was superb! Always making sure you were taken care of and happy at all times. Love the new Starbucks now located inside the lobby. Would highly recommend this hotel to everyone choosing to come to San Diego and take in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown.

The rooms were great and staff very accomadating, however I was very disappointed that when I booked my family - we had 14 people that noone mentioned that the lobby was under construction. The whole reason I booked here for my 50th birthday was location and the beauty of the hotel. We never even got to peak into the lobby. I had booked several months in advance and when I came to check on the hotel in person in Dec. the staff said it would probably be done so I kept the hotel reservations. I was not very happy with that but staff was outstanding with service.

So they are in the middle of reconstruction, so only go if you don't mind paying a lot to see dry wall being put up. The lobby is closed so you have to go in the back, it was touch I ended up leaving for a better hotel.

Nice hotel. Clean and very close to nightlife in gas lamp. Great location and friendly staff. Would definitely go again and recommend to others

Very centrally located, awesome employees, very neat historic hotel with lots to offer. Couldn't ask for better.

We loved the character of the old bank building and the fact that original features have been retained. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, and the furniture and fittings of a good standard. We also loved how quiet the room was - we were at the back of the building, which meant no view but VERY quiet. The valet parking is expensive, which is worth factoring-in when looking at the overall cost of a stay here. Negotiating the one-way system is tricky at first but once you are familiar with the surrounding streets, this hotel is very easy to access from all directions. Also a stones-throw from the gaslamp area with its many bars and restaurants.

We have stayed in many hotels all over the U.S. being military. They had great service, nice rooms, and perfect location for an enjoyable weekend downtown. Thank you.

Clean room, good service, didn't like the valet car rates

The interior of this hotel is grandiose and beautiful, I was immediately impressed upon entering. The customer service was spectacular and the hotel room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The only hiccup we had during my stay was when ordering movies, one of the movies started somewhere in the middle and I was unable to rewind. Upon consulting the staff, they said I simply had to wait for it to play through and then re-order. Unfortunately, I also could not fast forward. The location of the hotel is right in the Gas Lamp Quarter with easy and quick access to many restaurants, bars, as well as must see sights. I would gladly stay at this hotel again.
