Hampton Inn Muskegon - Norton Shores

Comfortable, clean, good service and staff, nice place

Clean, well kept with nice linens. It was nicer than we had expected from reviews. A pleasant spot to stay

hotel is older but well maintained. could use some upgrades.

Staff was very accommodating and helpful with questions and also advice for futures visits.

This was the third time we have stayed here. Seems to be the place for hockey families also just wish the parents and kids had manners and were quiet at nite. We had kids jumping above us at 10:00p.m. and hockey kids going in and out slamming doors at 11:30 p.m. finally had to call the manager. It is the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in. Beds are wonderful, close to shopping and restaurants. We were here for our 28th wedding anniversary we will be back but will request a room away from hockey kids.

We had a need to be in Muskegon and this Hampton Inn is very nice. Clean, with very pleasant staff.

We were very pleased with our accommodations. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, nice room size, large bath and nice to have not only a frig but a microwave. Pleasant staff and a wonderful contential breakfast that offered a long breakfast time. We were also given a late check out time. We will stay again in the future.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. The full breakfast was well-done with many choices. The King size room was spacious, clean, & included a fridge and microwave. My husband really enjoyed the flat screen HD TV.

The location was good, easy to find nearby several resturants. lacked area guides maps etc.to help guests.. Front desk clerk who checked us in was snippy. pool was cold and we were asked to leave the pool before 10 p.m. We would stay somewhere else next time..

A 5 star rating on everything except for the closeness of US 31. I should mention the nearby malls and shopping centers are outstanding.

Very pleasant and professional establishment...

For only a few bucks more than other hotels in the area, we knew of Hampton Inn's reputation as a quality hotel and were not disappointed.

Worked very well for our one night in the area. There are many restaurants and stores nearby. The hotel was clean and pleasant. Breakfast was well stocked and the woman working the service area worked hard to keep everything clean.

Great staff! Nice rooms & good food. :-) Will definitely plan to return. Was in the area on business, but took some off-hours to explore Lake Muskegon/Lake Michigan via bike and Grand Haven via roller blades.

I enjoyed staying here, nice place...the only problem I had, the treadmill was out-of-order, which is something I like to do, run on the treadmill. Other than that, everything was top notch.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel was very clean.

...very courteous and helpful staff, we were there with the 2012 Hot Rod Power Tour and at least 100 other classic cars. Very safe environment. We enjoyed our stay.

Hotel was very conveniently located near shopping, was very clean, staff was friendly, pool/sauna was high quality. Only complaint was that the overall hotel was a bit on the warm side, necessitating use of airconditioner, making the air a bit dry.

Decent place for a one-night stay; the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location isn't bad, but the outrageous taxi rates in the area mean you'll be driving yourself wherever you want to go. Located near a few of the standard roadside restaurants and a small shopping center made it a nice place to pass an evening.

pool was seemed bigger and nicer than other Hamptons that we've stayed at. Weekend stay hotel was not busy. True to Hampton Inn the place was in good condition and clean.

Went to Michigan Adventures, nice clean hotel. WiFi worked good. Breakfast was good with waffles, eggs, and meat and of course, the usual continental choices. Staff was very helpful. Near mall, shopping centers and many places to eat. I highly recommend this hotel.

Good stay. Breakfast was not good. I liked the new black and white pictures on the rooms entrances, elevator door, etc.... except the retired woman traveler cheering the hip hip hooray on the bed. How am I supposed to get my kid not to jump on the bed when they got this posted all over :)

Loved the beds - so comfortable. Clean rooms and large bathrooms. The shower was wonderful - I'd like to have a shower head in my bathroom at home like it. Very relaxing. The breakfast was very nice, clean, a good variety of foods including scrambled eggs and sausage as well as fruit salad and pastries from a bakery.

Everything about the hotel was great! Staff was extremely kind and helpful and went out of their way to take care of every need. We would definitely return again.

Like most Hampton Inn's they are getting long in the tooth and in need of a refresh. When I use [this booking site] I always get what I feel is the worst room in the hotel. Next to the Elevator, overlooking the Heating unit on the roof. Fan in bathroom was not working, so I tried to open the main window to let out some steam. If my hand was not placed correctly I would have had a finger chopped off, as the window came down like a guillotine! I triend again and the entire bottom half of the window fell into the room. (very heavy). The pull out bed had not been made from the previous tenant and had lots of "black sock lint" traped under the sheets (yuck). Thin walls near the elevator meant very bad night sleep. Food was OK, but not great (rubber eggs, etc). The hotel was hard to find behind a Target with minmal signs. Staff was nice, but I saw no point in complaining, the chain is in rapid decline.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Norton Shores during Miss Michigan pageant week. We stayed three nights. Everyday at check in time, there were freshly baked chocolate chip cookies on the front desk. One night we got back late, and there was tea, water and freshfruit available for the taking. Free breakfast every morning. Convenient internet access. Newspaper at my door. Super clean and not busy pool area. Everything was clean and fresh looking. The staff was nice. One day a breaker tripped, and our bathroom lights were off briefly but that was it. On Saturday we moved closer to downtown Muskegon to the Holiday Inn. Never and I mean never go there. Drive 12 minutes from Norton Shores. You'll be glad you did. I would highly recommend the Hampton Inn, and I will absolutely go to one where ever I travel in the future.

hotel was clean and employees where very nice bed was a little uncomfortable but over all very good experience.

Pleasant stay on business trip. Good breakfast. Would recommend for business travelers. Easy internet access.

We had a whirlpool suite the room was great. Vending machines outside of room were very noisy at night other than that I would move into that room. The breakfast of scrambled eggs and ham, and fried potatoes were alittle too greasy would love to see them serve country gravy and biscuits. We already had resevations at this same hotel for August for my daughters wedding can't wait to go back.

Two things about the room: - The mattress was very soft, so if you need a hard mattress you might want to take that into consideration - The bathtub was poorly recaulked, and there was mildew forming in spots under the caulking. Finding the hotel: - The hotel can be seen from the highway, but it is off on a side street and is hard to find even if you know the area. You will want to have the street name when you go there.

The hotel is fairly close to Michigans Adventure and close to lots of shopping.

This hotel was very clean and the breakfast was super nice. Everything was as I expected it to be and I can complain about nothing. Thanks for the nice stay it was very relaxing!

The Hampton hotels always mention their bedding in their adds. The sumptuous duvet bedding looked like the Grand Canyon. The lining had been commercially washed and all had migrated into lumps and bumps making the bed look horrible. Management dismissed my complaints as "that's what happens when they're washed" Clean it was attractive and appealing it wasn't!!

The Hampton Inn at Norton Shores is a good hotel. Check-in was a breeze; there were even warm cookies waiting for us everyday at check-in time. The entire staff that we interacted with was friendly and helpful. They always said hello and goodbye as we were leaving/returning and answered any questions we had. The room was clean and adequate with two queen beds but a little outdated (particularly the closet). The bathroom was nicely arranged to allow more room. The television offered very little variety in viewing, however. One thing to improve the room would be to offer microwaves/refrigerators, but there was a coffeemaker. We did not go to the fitness room, but the pool was good--nice and warm, clean. The hot tub was great too. Floor around it is extremely slippery though, so be careful. Also, the complimentary breakfast was so good--great selection from cereals to fruit to bagels to waffles to eggs and homefries. It was one of the best complimentary breakfasts we have had at a hotel. Noise was not really a problem even though the hotel is right near a freeway. The surrounding area does offer some restaurants and shopping which is nice.
