Best Western Hotel Olimpia - ונציה

The Best Western Olimpia was the perfect hotel for our 3 days in Venice before a cruise. We took a bus from the airport (20 minutes) to Piazzale Roma and could see the hotel from there. Then a 5-minute walk and we were checking in. Be sure to get a room in the main building since it has the only elevator. The staff was super friendly, the breakfast and wifi were included. They gave us a map of Venice and great recommendations for the vaporetti (water buses), restaurants and shopping. I would definately stay there again.

Good location for land access from Cruise terminal and Marco Polo airport.Easy and interesting walk to all sights including Rialto and St. Mark's. Excellent service with a very nice full breakfast. Room was clean, tastefully appointed. Staff were helpful and friendly. We would stay here again.

Stayed extra nights before a cruise and very glad we did. The hotel is right near the bus loop and very easy to get to. Good location to explore Venice from. The room was beautiful and had a view of the canal. Breakfast was very good and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel exceeded our expectations.

Everything about this hotel was fantastic! - perfectly located and exceptional attention to detail.

A lovely Hotel in a great location. Arrived from airport on bus which was easy to book on line in advance or you can buy ticket from machine at airport. Hotel was easy to find from bus station and is close to train station and waterbus too so if you don't want walk back from St Marks Square get on the bus. Had a lovely room which was clean and roomy and the breakfast had a great choice too.

The location was great and the service was excellent from the front desk to the Breakfast attendants. The room was very comfortable. I stayed at 4 different hotels in 4 different cities in Italy and wished that they all were as good as this one.

This was our second stay at the Olimpia. It has style, good service and value. Because we were returning a car and had a great deal of luggage from a month of travel, we chose to stay close to the Piazza Roma transport hub which provides easy access to all of Venice on the ACTV Vapporetti System. You may spend a bit of extra time on them, but it is a unique experience. We were happy to see that the hotel maintained the level of quality that we first found there 10 years ago.

This was our Second visit in ten years. We found that the hotel provided a great value for an attractive 3 star hotel in a convenient location. Great staff and breakfast. Robert at the front desk was charming and helpfull.

We have stayed at this hotel before and could not fault it. we booked the decandance room, and we were very pleased. The room was lovely and roomy a lovely new shower room also. The staff at this hotel are all very friendly and help when needed. Would also give hotels .com top marks

A lovely little hotel, we had a room up in the roof- compact but cosy. The hotel is in an excellent position if you are coming from the airport by shuttle bus- you can see it from the Piazzale Roma. That meant obviously that it was a bit further to get to St Marks square etc but we didn't find this a problem. Vey friendly and helpful staff and a good breakfast in the morning made it very good value for money.

The Olympia is very well situated! Really a 5 minute walk from the piazza le Roma and the train station. The hotel is well kept, the staff is friendly and helpful and we had a good sized, clean and pleasant room especially by European standards. We would definitely stay again!

The hotel was closely located to the bus terminal and train station, which was perfect for our trip. The hotel was under renovation when we were there. The room was in a difficult location in the hotel, but the room was huge and had a nice view of a canal. The WiFi was available in the lobby but worked great. We would stay here again

This was a very fine hotel of its class. The staffs' English was very good, and they were very helpful. My room was in an annex to the hotel which did not have an elevator, but this was no problem for me, and the bellman helped bring my bags up stairs. The breakfast was a high point because they had scrambled eggs and a European style bacon on the menu. The location is only a short walk from the St. Lucia train station, and can be easily walked to. I wanted to visit the Church of St. Nicolas on the island of Lido. Looking at the map, it seemed that it would be impossible without a car. When I asked at the desk, they were able to give clear instructions on how to take the waterbus over to the island. The cab ride to the church was only 7.80 euros. It was fixed. There is a 20 euro 12-hour pass for the waterbus, and a person may want to consider that if one is moving around Venice. Finally, the downer was the canal bridge to the east of the train station. It does not have a ramp structure, and even though the steps are only 4-5 inches high, one has to carry one's bags up the bridge. Going down, with the small steps is no problem. Watch out for the folks who want to "help" you with your bags. They don't accept "no" easily. If they carry your bag, expect to be hounded by them for a tip. These guys aren't motivated out of charity to help the stranger.

This hotel was excellent! The hotel has had some renovations and out bathroom was fantastic. It looked like it just came out of catalog! Excellent staff service and delicious breakfast!

Covenient location - a few minutes from Piazzale Roma. Good breakfast. Clean and quiet.

This hotel offers old world charm. Lovely decor, relatively large guest rooms, including bathroom (usually they are very small in Italy) very nice breakfast, great service, super location close to bus/train /water taxi terminals. All at a great price. A true find. We loved it.

Friendly helpful staff great location but our room was tired and smelt musty. Not good for an asthmatic, we paid extra for a room on the main building but were given one in the annex.

Small rooms

The hotel was in a great location for catching the cruise ship. The breakfast was exceptional.....The front desk staff was excellent....(Thank You Robert).

A very nice hotel in a convenient neighborhood. Close to cruise ships, train and bus station. The rooms and bathrooms were small (but have found this in most European hotels) but clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating.

This hotel is just one street/canal from the bus station, very close to the train station and cruise ships, yet you still feel like you are part of old Venice. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. The place was clean and well maintained. The breakfest buffet (included in our stay) was very nice. The room we had, on the top floor, was very small with a low ceiling - but was quite lovely and charming with a very nice modern bath. However, if you are over six foot tall you might have trouble with the ceiling height esp. in the shower. The elevator is TINY. never seen one so small, not much bigger than a large dumbwaiter. Overall, I would stay again.

Very nice breakfast.

As first time visitors to Venice we found the location of this hotel, close to the Piazzale Roma bus station and the Grand Canal waterbus, to be very good. From Piazzale Roma we had to carry our bags over only one bridge to reach the hotel!! We decided to pay extra for a Superior Room and we weren't disappointed - the decor and furnishings in the room were very good; in addition, the bed was comfortable and we slept very well during our stay. Our room was very clean on arrival and this standard was maintained throughout our stay. Overall, the service was very good, from the front desk , bell boy to the breakfast staff - all very willing to help and provide advice. A buffet breakfast was included in our package and this was excellent - a wide variety including hot food. The hotel is located close to several restaurants within a short walk including one right next door. We would recommend this hotel and will return when next in Venice.

Of the three hotels we stayed in in Italy, this one cost the most and delivered the least. We were tucked away up two flights of stairs in typically tiny room (Lillium). It was the most expensive of all the rooms we stayed in and delivered the least space. Only a little shower and just enough room to slide around the bed. One redeeming feature was the air conditioning, which was needed in the early September heat and general mugginess. The hotel breakfast offered a good spread every morning along with average coffee. They seemed to assume coffee meant American filter so the brew was pretty weak, although they did give us a refill. After seeing an Italian couple order, the second morning I specified a cappuccino. Far better. The butler seems to be the breakfast police with signs saying you have to eat all the food in the room or garden. I did manage to tuck a nectarine in my pocket both mornings to snack on later. We did feel very watched, though, and not exactly in a customer service sort of way. The location of the hotel is good if arriving by bus or train. No matter how hard you try, though, dragging luggage is a pain. All the bridges are stepped, so either prepare for a good arm workout or get on a vaporetto. We walked, which was fine. The free wifi was good, as well. Overall, I got the impression most Venetian hotels charge steep prices, and this was relatively good value compared to its competition. But I would try somewhere else if I ever go back.

Good: location, excellent reception staff, breakfast. Not so good: room size very small room, small bed and very small bathroom, very narrow hallways/corridors, mini lift, ....

My stay was pleasant. Location of hotel is just a walk away from People Mover if you're boarding the Cruise Ship from Venice location. Also a walking distance from Piazzale Roma (Bus Station) when you arrive from the Airport.

This hotel had fantastic facilities with large rooms (by Venice standards) and a beautiful breakfast room with garden seating. The desk staff were extremely friendly and offered great recommendations for local walks and restaurants. We especially enjoyed talking with Robert at the desk, he was very funny and went out of his way to make our stay excellent. The included breakfast was very extensive and the free wifi very fast. We stayed here because the hotel was an easy walk from the cruise terminal and also very close to the bus to the airport. It was our favorite hotel of our stay in Venice.

Great location close to cruise ship terminal and easy walk to Venice attractions. Taxi to airport near by. Staff friendly and helpful. Our superior room was clean and comfortable with room to relax. Price good for high season. Would stay at this location again.

Hotel was very pretty, hand painted furniture in the rooms, the part we stayed in only had stairs to the rooms, breakfast was lovely, had a room with twin beds -one was very hard. Staff were nice. restaurants and the car parking area is nearby.

Convenient location, nice facility, and walking distance to major sites.

Air condition was very bad. Internet service was good. Room size acceptable.And room furniture very old but the room is clean. Also, their breakfast was nice.hotel position is 2 bridges from train station !! Which is perfect if you're staying in Venice around 3 nights.

Hotel was very clean and nice, everyone was friendly, very close to mostly all the sights, but what isnt in venice right? Great restaurants nearby, and close to the vaparetto station and bus station! Only problem was, the shower head was not connected to the wall, which is like this is most European hotels, and the rooms was extremely crampt. other then that, 4 stars!

Staff very friendly. Room absolutely tiny, but well decorated and good condition. Convenient to Piazzale Roma. Good full breakfast. TV was extremely disappointing: over 80 chanels, but not one of them in English. Staff had no clue about the stations available.

This is a great hotel if you want to be within walking distance of the train station or the bus station for arriving or departing Venice. There are also some nice restaurants in this area. In terms of its proximity to the big attractions, it is a ways away. But they can be reached on foot or via the vaporetto. There are cheaper options closer to the big attractions, but it is worth having the proximity to the arrival and departure point so you don't have to weave your way thought the small streets of Venice to find your hotel!!!

very nice!

The hotel is very well placed for the bus station for buses from the airport. The Grand Canal is only a short walk away and all other tourist attractions are within easy walking distance. The vaporetta station at either pl roma or Ferrovia are near. We had a very enjoyable long weekend at this hotel and would recommend it.
