רחוק מהמרכז אך קרוב מאוד לתחנת רכבת תחתית .חדר זעיר אך נקי מתאים לשהיה קצרה לאדם אחד . הקבלה היו אדיבים מאד .כדאי רק כשאין ברירה ואין להשיג חדרים במרכז.

small room but a nice friendly hotel in a great area

hotel was nice and clean and close to subway to time square. rooms were so tiny that one full bed was very tight in the room. bath was also small but very clean. I think the price is not worth it because of such small rooms.

Very tiny room, but most important to me is cleanliness and this hotel met the mark.

4:00 a.m. disturbance from other inconsiderate guests was not handled well by night staff, which continued for over 30 minutes. walls are paper thin and rooms are tiny. would not recommend.

So close to subway, Central Park and great restaurants in a lovely, quiet part of Manhattan! All things about hotel excellent (clean, well appointed, great shower), yet would look forward to a better quality bed next time. Very reasonably price; I would recommend and use again.

The rooms are just as noted in other reviews, very small. Which wouldn't have been so bad if they had used the space better. But for instance, there wasn't a single hook or rack anywhere in the room to hang anything, not even a towel rack for wet towels. One of the days we were there, the housekeeping never came at all. I will say they did respond to my request for more pillows fairly promptly. The location is good, right down from the Metro station. And there is a Starbucks & Dunkin donuts closely for coffee, which is a good thing since the rooms don't have coffee makers. Overall, we probably could've found something better for the money.

Lousy hotel. Too small. Didn't like it at all. Please stop recommending this to other guest. Remove them from the hotel list.

The hotel was nice and clean, the Staff was rude and surly.

Newly refurbished, very clean and a good place to spend the night as long as you dont want to hang out in your tiny room. Guests tromping up and down the echoing corridors can disturb a good nights sleep so bring some ear plugs. Coffee in the morning in the lobby is a bonus

The people are very nice and the Upper West Side is splendid as always, but the TINY room filled entirely by the (decent) bed to the point where I could barely get my suitcase into the room make this hotel good for an economy sleep stop and nothing more.

We knew going in that the room would be small, so that part was no surprise. It was clean. My first shower ran out of hot water in two minutes and there were no hooks in the bathroom for towels or clothing. Hallway was noisy at times and Housekeeping woke us every morning opening and closing their closet door(next to our room) and standing at the closet rattling papers or plastic or whatever, for several minutes; their walkie-talkies added to the problem so that going back to sleep was impossible. We won't be staying there again.

The front desk staff is very helpful and understanding. Will definitely come back!

A tiny room, unfit even for an overnight sleep stay. Any Motel 6 room seems to be a palace in comparison with this.

I have to say that the Hotel Belnord was completely renovated...Its room are the tiniest in which I have ever stayed. The hallways are very narrow BUT it is on the Upper West Side and at $107/night I have no complaints. The room was spotless, the bathroom was perfect but both were tiny. But, I was totally at ease, one would feel entirely safe but a mere few more feet would keep one from feeling like they were in a closet. There really isn't customer service but if you ask for something you will get an answer. I would stay again but would request a slightly larger room.

The location is good as it is next to the subway 1. Convenient and friendly neighbourhood. Not far from main hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel is clean but room is very small. It comes with Free WiFi which made the stay very pleasant!. The reception staff is friendly and helpful.

The room was small but it was clean the hotel is in a good location only one block from the subway.

Very clean hotel. Allowed us to store bags prior to check in. Beautiful hardwood floors and tiled bathroom. No noise complaints. Room was small but normal for New York. Two of us fit fine with little organization.

The room was small but clean and nice. Some hooks to hang the coat and towels would be good. Only problem was a strong sound during the night which woke me up a couple of times, some kind of loud motor (to do with heating system?). I was at the second floor.

service spotty but worth the money

Well the price for last minute in NYC was ok but not a wonderful experience. Service was very curt and to the point. Efficient but could have been friendlier. I explained I needed a quiet room and was waking early for an important business meeting. The hallway very noisy and the heat in the room was even louder. Did not sleep well due to all of this. Room so small that the door hit the bed and only about 2 feet around each way. Also the bathroom was the smallest I ever experienced. I travel a great deal for business and for the price expected a bit more. Would not recommend .

If your looking for a bed and a bath for a night and nothing more, the low cost makes it worth while.

The room is incredibly small, there's no breakfast, and the front desk people tended to hang up on me seemingly abruptly (although after I had gotten what I needed). But if you're looking to save money and don't need anything more elaborate than free Wi-Fi, an iron+board you can borrow, and a nice neighborhood, then I would really recommend the place.

This small boutique hotel is well situated on New York's Upper West Side. If you are not a New York hotel cognoscenti, that means that the hotel is a short subway ride to the maelstrom of New York,'s main tourist and business centers, yet somewhat removed from the hullabaloo of Broadway, the UN, Wall Street, Grand Central and Museum Mile. The hotel was relatively recently tastefully overhauled from top to bottom. The staff is quite attentive and helpful. But, here's the rub: the rooms are microscopically tiny. Not small, tiny. Let me put it this way: If you are traveling with a companion, you will find that you will soon adapt to the room's dimensions by developing synchronous breathing -- with one of you inhaling while the other exhales in order to maximize usable space. The hotel's proprietors contribute to this space maximization by providing shampoo in conservation form in a container slightly smaller than an eye dropper. Soap is similarly very sparingly provided. When you travel to this hotel, pack wisely: there is virtually no storage space for luggage in the room and anything more than the clothing on your back will add to the closeness of already close quarters.

THE GOOD: One block from the subway (Line 1); clean throughout; good service; a short walk to Central Park; free WiFi THE BAD: Bathroom so small that it was inconvenient to brush teeth. Narrow hallways. THE CONFUSING: WiFi password changed daily, which is annoying. But some mornings the password form the previous day still worked. THE ANNOYING: People stay here because it's the cheapest clean place in the city...so we're generally a money-conscious yet clean bunch. So I was pretty upset when I asked the staff to call me a cab to the airport and instead they called a "black car" which cost 2x as a cab would have. For shame. OVERALL: If you're planning on using the hotel mainly for sleeping then this is probably as good as it gets. No funny smells; no shady guests; direct access to Columbus Circle, Times Square, and Downtown.

e picked this hotel for the last 2 nights of our stay in New York. This was after staying at a Doubletree and a Marriott so maybe we just set the bar too high, but I don't think so. The rooms are even small by European standards and that's comparing it to a pension not a name brand room. There is really only room for carry on bags, but nothing larger. If you have a larger bag you would need to keep it closed and only open it when you need to get something out. The T.V. on the wall at the foot of the bed does need to be dodged when you try to get to the bathroom. Oh the bathroom--not one shelf or space for any of your toiletries! The rooms, however, are kept very clean and in good repair. The bedding is pathetic, old, and they do have something they call pillows. As there is no carpeting in the hotel it can be very noisy, so if you have sleep issues you should really reconsider. It is nice that Wifi is included. The location however is really nice. It is very close to so many good restaurants. The one I remember is Bodrum's--very good, but many others to pick from. Also not far from a Metro stop. The customer service is almost non-existent. They really have a way of making you feel that you are a bother. With all this being said if you have a tight budget then this would be an option for you.

The hotel is very nicely renovated...staff pleasant. The rooms are very small...especially the bathroom so it would not be for everyone. I can't imagine two people staying in the room. My business is a very tall man and I think he would find the bathroom impossible. (Location of toilet tissue roll is very poor).

We stayed on the 1st floor. It was a tight squeeze to get around in the halls with backpacking packs. The room barely fit the double bed but at least it was comfy to sleep on. It was nice having a private bathroom. The location of this hotel was convenient to walk or catch the subway to places of interest. It's in a relatively nice and safe neighbourhood too.

The room was extremely small. This should be mentioned in future reviews.

The hotel is located near several of my favorite resturantns and it is near public transportation (Bus and Subway) All I ask from a hotel is that is provide me with a bed to sleep in and a bathroom. That the Belnord provides.

It seemed nice for a short stay but be warned, the room is tiny. So small you may trip and fall out the window lol. It was nice though.

I had a nice small cozy room. Needed a location to get away with my mistress. The room was incredibly small and so was the bath. But very clean. Love how quiet it was. If you need a bed, shower and a spot to entertain this is great.

excellant value for money in Manhaten

Room is tiny, just a bit bigger than the bed. The bathroom is so small that your legs go under the sink when you sit on the toilet. There's no closet or dresser. The window opens onto a narrow alley so there is no natural light and only the view of brick face of the adjacent building. That said, the room was kept clean. If you are just looking for a place to sleep in NYC and don't really need amenities, it's a good deal.

It was a decent hotel, but the room was very very very small. As soon as you walk into the room, you are literally on the bed.

Hey, I was for one week at this hotel. Rooms are small but it's New York. It's almost always like that there. Bathroom was good. Cleanliness of the room was perfect. The personnel at the welcome desk wasn't professionnel, neither friendly. The location of this hotel is good, next to the subway N°1 (red) open 24hours every 20min between 1am to 5am. Direct line to Times Square.

Smallest room I have ever stayed in! My wife and I could not pass by each other ( my wife is 5 feet tall 118 lbs and I am 6 feet tall 160 lbs.) We had to bend sideways to avoid hitting the TV on the wall. The room was clean and neat and the location was convenient to stores and restaurants.

This room was the smallest room ever. The beds were horrible. When setting on the toilet felt like you were going to fall into the shower. The room was clean and well kept but I would never stay there again. Spend the money to get bigger room.
