El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel - סן אנטוניו

We had a nice time, room very nice and clean, hotel staff super friendly and helpful. Very quiet and peaceful surrounding, parking on street is a hassle because of early morning meters. River walk shops and restaurants at least a 20 min river taxi ride.

The rooms are over priced for their size. My husband had to back against the wall for me to pass at the foot of bed. The rooms are very small. The view obscured by trees. Nice lobby and nice staff. Probably won't stay there again

We loved the hotel, which located at the quieter end of the Riverwalk. We enjoyed parking at the hotel (first time San Antonio visitors are offered half off parking, which takes it to $9/day), and then took the local trolley system around where we needed to go on $4/day ride passes. The hotel was clean and we enjoyed getting the free breakfast buffet, however, we heard everything from upstairs and our neighbors. Walls are SUPER THIN and that is our only complaint. For the price we paid, and as first time guests to San Antonio, we felt we got a great deal! Buffet Breakfast could use some changes with what is offered.

Late April for 5 nights, Arrived Sunday afternoon with wife for Vacation/Conference at hotel. Rate included Breakfast $10 per/day, parking extra $18/night. An attendee paid $9 by calling hotel directly. Check-in OK but no hot water. Called front desk said it was being worked on sorry for inconvenience. No hot water Monday morning. Still working on it. I asked why we were not told during check-in. No explanation. Of course if they had told customers during check-in some would have gone elsewhere. I said if I had been them I would have offered a couple of drink coupons for inconvenience. They gave me two coupons. Hot water finally arrived Tuesday evening (48 hours after check-in).

I attended the IRA convention April 18, 2013 through April 22, 2013 and stayed at the El Tropicano Hotel. I attended the event alone and truly enjoyed my stay. I stayed in a King size room which was a clean and beautiful room. It was very spacious and I had a balcony which I never had the chance to enjoy because I stayed busy the entire time. Breakfast was great! You will have a hot breakfast that is buffet style and you serve yourself. The menu consist of bacon, (eggs, two types of eggs, but fried), sausage, pancakes, bagels, oatmeal, fruits, cranberry juice, orange juice, water, coffee and tea. The waitress assisted you with what you needed. Everything was right there for you to enjoy! The staff was very friendly and helpful. If I should visit San Antonio again, I will definitely stay at El Tropicano. It is accessible to where you may want to go. While I was there- I used the Trolly for transportation- it only costed $1.20 and later in the day- I caught a Taxi to Lulu's which only cost $5.00 from the hotel. It has the best food that you would enjoy. I tried their country fried steak which was amazing with gravy and their cinnamon rolls are homemade and would make you want to come back for more. I also rode the boat as where we were given a tour of the Riverwalk and history about buildings and famous people who filmed movies, etc. I shared this information with my family and friends and they have El Tropicano on their list when they decide to go on a tour.

A good walking distance away from restaurants, but it was nice to see the riverwalk. Very clean, nice pool though a bit chilly. Great breakfast, staff is really nice.

Went for the fiestas, asked for a happy 21st b-day greeting for my niece, didn't happen! Spoke with Carly, a supervisor. She was rude and very unfriendly. No concierge, no valet on arrival. Called for concierge at 0900 the day of check out , took my own stuff down at 1100. Was billed for 4 nights of parking stayed 3 nights! Another 3 rooms were for 2 nights also over billed! When I asked for it to be corrected Robert! Was even more rude and unfriendly than the supervisor Carly! The nicest people at the hotel were the cleaning staff and the bar tenders! Rooms extremely small, rest room doors tiny and overweight person would of had an issue just using the toilet. Don't waste your time stay at a better place its worth the extra 20 a night!

Overall great stay. Beautiful lobby and pool area. Rooms outdated but clean and comfortable. No hot water 2 days out of 3 but we managed and staff was awsum. Will stay there again. Booking was easy and trouble free. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

I was there for business so did not get a chance to see much. Fiesta was right outside and fun to see. Hotel was a little far from places to eat but was an easy walk. Staff was outstanding and very accommodating.

Hotel has some maintenance issues, last day of stay we had no hot water. Managment said they had a main water line break which made floors 3 and above with no hot water. They did let us use a room someone checked out of the next morning so we could take a hot shower. The walk to the main part of the riverwalk was approx 10-15 minutes which was allright with us, would not want to walk this end of the riverwalk after dark. It is pretty deserted and a few questionable people milling around. Not bad during the day. Over all the hotel was nice, nice people, good breakfast and clean.

The hotel was nice; I was surprised by the parking fee, but overall it was good.

Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Layout of hotel was a little difficult to navigate and it is somewhat removed from the more popular section of the Riverwalk, but a great deal for a clean, safe hotel.

We pulled up and there were several large events booked, apparently, the weekend of our stay, and the valet line was several cars long. The Valets seemed to be running to-and-fro, but not actually moving any vehicles. We eventually figured out on our own to self-park in the back lot. The staff is not very proactive about providing customer information. The desk clerks we very attentive, so that was a relief, afterward. As mentioned, the hotel had a dance competition, and a beauty pageant scheduled for that weekend and it would have been Kind to know that these events were booked in advance- At least a warning so we could have make alternate plans. We wanted a relaxing place to stay and the place was roaring with children. Just some consideration for single travelers would go a long way. The hotel is perfectly fine otherwise. Very cute and tropical. Faucet in the bath is leaky, which contradicts the hotel's 'Green' claim.

Overall not too bad. I did feel that it looked much better on the internet. It is, technically, on the Riverwalk, but it is quite far from the main section of shops and stores. On the minus : the room was small. Very small bathroom. obvious wear and tear (holes in curtain, broken molding in bathroom), not much tv service and no movie options that I could see. Had to go to the first floor and go outside (!) to get to a vending machine. Parking was $18 per night. Neighborhood was a little sketchy. On the plus : Staff was excellent, room was very clean. We received a complimentary breakfast everyday and it was great. Pool was huge and deep. fitness center was very nice. Location isn't bad if you are driving or don't mind a brisk walk to the riverwalk attractions.

Great location to the Riverwalk but not congested with tourists. Hotel staff was very pleasant and super friendly!

It was a great experince being in San Antonio. For shore I will be back there at your hotel. The ladys fron the house keeping were great.

overall the hotel was fine and my only complaint was that the wi-fi wasn't working on my side of the hotel and the front desk team didn't see to interested in getting that fixed ... while the hotel is on the riverwalk, it is a bit away from the main shopping, bar, restaurant area

Fairly clean, but there were papers and pizza crust behind nightstand. May not have noticed, but phone didn't work, so we checked cord behind nightstand. Also, no phone book, hotel info or TV info in the room. TV was new and hadn't been programmed yet, so maint man came and fixed phone and TV. Shade on one lamp was broken, but not really a big problem. Desk forgot our wakeup call on last day and would not have made it to the airport except for our cell phone alarm. Buffet breakfast was quite good. Beds were clean and comfortable.

Not a bad place to stay, but I was expecting much more. I was with a large group with a lot of kids, so my complaints are because we were traveling with family. Rooms are small and outdated. No refrigerator, one trashcan in the room (found in the bathroom), had to ask for extra towels because they only left 2, pool was not heated as advertised. The breakfast and the service staff was good. The hotel location is on the north side of downtown and conveniently next to the river so we were able to use the river taxi to venture downtown.

The bath tub was so cheap and disgusting... if the tub is starting to chip replace it don't paint over it... that was my only issue everything else was fine... i knew ahead of time it wasn't close to the convention center

Guest room was very small, but clean.

I chose this hotel online because it looked like it would be decent from the pictures and other ratings, boy was I wrong. The staff at check in was snotty and not very helpful. Our rooms were supposed to come with breakfast, at check in we asked if we needed anything for it and the receptionist said no, however at breakfast we had to get the manager involved to get our vouchers. Breakfast itself was disgusting. the eggs were gross, the sausage was under cooked and the coffee was in drinkable. Parking was $18 a night which personally I believe is extremely high for a hotel. The whole place looked dingy as soon as you left the lobby. The rooms were tiny and needed repair. One of the 2 rooms had a balcony that looked like no one ever used it and had sun faded 1970's chairs. Not to mention the door to the bathroom looked like someone had tried to enter it while it was locked and broke the door. Over all NOT ever staying there again. I suggest no one else does either.

Beautiful City, people very friendly. Breakfast was great. Hotel should shut off it's loud canned music in early evening. Location - walking distance to sights and river walk was fantastic.

the hotel was well located for Riverwalk, although about a pleasant mile walk from shops/restaurants. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. No complaints - we felt it was excellent value for money.

Hotel is old but ammenities were nice. Rooms are small and old with outdated heating/ac. Parking is $18 a night. Only one operable elevator. Overall, not a terrible experience but could be better.

Rooms need to be renovated. Bathroom tiles look dirty. They still have tube TVs!!!! One elevator was not working. For these reasons, this will not be my preferred choice in San Antonio. On the other hand, hotel staff was very pleasant and courteous. Efficient check-in and check-out.

Overall it was nice. Only one elevator was working and you have to pay $18.00/day for parking. Bar was nice drinks at good price. I enjoyed my stay though.

Will never stay here again. Staff don't honor room reservations that are booked online through 3rd party websites. Extremely rude people. Never would I stay here again. Plus rooms aren't that nice.

The management was very helpful in getting us around San Antonio. We were disappointed that our room was not facing the riverwalk. However, the hotel only had rooms that faced the riverwalk with king or queen beds and we needed 2 beds. The breakfast was excellent. Overall, our stay was satisfactory.

The hotel was was a little far from the restaurants than expected. But other than the construction across the street our stay was fine.

Pretty Good place near everything

Great Customer Service. Food was great, and plentiful. My children, enjoyed the pool, every night. Staff was very friendly, from the parking lot, maids, front desk and food servers. I woud definitely come back and recommend them.

Bed pillows were horibly dirty

Old TV need to be change, staff is not very friendly and hotel has an old feel to it.
