Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach - קרלסבד

Our "partial ocean view" was pretty much "non-existent ocean view." TV didn't work well and room was not cleaned when we returned from a day out. All else seemed fine.

We liked everything about our stay except for the pool being a bit cold. But we were otherwise very satisfied. Will stay again!

We arrived ahead of check-in time with our 3 yr old and 16 mth old. We expected to have to wait, but were warmly greeted and told our room was ready; fantastic! The room itself was on the first floor (bummer), facing the pool (no privacy if we wanted to let natural light in by opening the curtains) with two -very- firm queen beds and the Hilton's usual "pillow nuggets" (why they can't provide larger pillows is beyond me). The TV had interference (black lines) and the AC ran loudly in 10 minute on, 2 minute off cycles, endlessly. That said, the room was clean, the shower had good water pressure and we heard -zero- pool noise despite a handful of kids splashing about; not bad. We requested a crib for our little guy; it arrived 3 minutes later with a smile (we've waited as long as an hour elsewhere) - awesome. The next day, the unthinkable happened; I closed the car door on my own finger… splitting the nail, resulting in a ton of pain and a fair bit of blood. I went to the front desk with hopes they might sell me a bandaid. Instead, the extremely gracious gentlemen (Dane) told me to hang on as he ran to the back office, returning with (no joke): sterile gauss, medical tape, a sanitary wipe, a bottle of cold water and a packet of ibuprofen! Before I could ask if he could put it on our room bill he told me it was all on the house and to come back if I needed anything else; truly above and beyond. Oh, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. We will absolutely stay here again.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how great this hotel was. Comfortable room, right across from the beach, great pool and lawn area (with ping pong table) -- so great for kids. Free shuttle to Legoland. And believe it or not, the on-site restaurant was really good. Seriously. The nicest staff in the world, too. A definite place to return to!

If you are looking for a place to stay near Carlsbad Village, this is not it. I should have looked a little closer when booking to it's actual location. User error on my part. Yes, it's close to Legoland and Flower Fields if that is what you are looking for. But if you want to be walking distance to nightlife, and restaurants in Carlsbad, this is not the hotel for you. There is nothing around it. Clean, standard hotel room. Very cookie cutter. However, we were not told when we checked-in that the hot tub was not working. I would look into that before booking.

Clean room, very friendly check in service. Location looked like it was on beach actually across 101.

I really wanted to like this place but the bathroom was run down and you could hear the people in the rooms next to you. We paid extra for the ocean view and it was foggy plus we were put on the first floor.....not much of a view. Not staying here again. Pay the extra amount for the Hilton up the road.

The hotel staff moved us from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor so that the noise from the highway was minimal and we had a better view.

We went on a whim to Carlsbad and checked in to the Hilton Garden Inn and were really pleased! It was across the street from the beach, lots of restaurants nearby and the staff were so friendly. The kids loved the cookies in the evening in the lobby - their little treat! Overall, I would definitely recommend!

Fresh cookies and cider every evening, lovely touch! Very friendly and helpful staff, love the comforter (cover changed with each guest, no more yucky bedspreads or blankets); great location on the beach and close to Carlsbad Village, a charming little town with shops and restaurants. Refrigerator, Microwave, Coffeemaker and a desktop suitable for a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle.

We were able to check in early and gather our strength before heading to Legoland - and they offered us a free shuttle there which saved parking fees and was totally convenient. Plus the ocean is right across the street and the room was comfortable and large enough for our family of four.

The staff were very friendly. The room was adequate. It feels, in many ways, more like a large motel than an actual hotel. For instance, there was no valet parking. I did not try the lobby restaurant. It looked like a place to grab a quick bite. The whole place seems a bit run down, but was clean enough. I would never stay here on a personal trip, but for an overnight business stay, it wasn't bad.

I really like the Hotel. Excellent ambience and location, but essential you have a car for convenient access to local area shopping and restaurants.

A great hotel just a hop from the beach. Pool and hot tub are great. Very clean rooms. All in all a great experience.

All the reviews that we read before arrival were true. The Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach was clean and the staff 100 percent helpful. The only two issues we had were access to the beach and the mattress on our bed. The mattress would never adjust to soft, always firm. The hotel is located about 5 miles south of Carlsbad Village with not much around it. Without a car you would be limited to food served in hotel. We did not eat at hotel, There are many places to dine at in Carlsbad Village. For breakfast recommend The Daily News in the village. Great omelets!

Nice clean quiet beach but the bed needs some work. They have a dial that adjust the firmness of the bed but I couldn't get it to work. It felt hard as a rock no matter how I turned it. Other than that great hotel.

Very pleasant staff. Clean and newer hotel. Lots of children since this is a big Legoland area. Ocean accross the street, but the beach isn't the best and you have to walk down the road about 1500 ft to access, because this area of beach is down a very steep dirt cliff. About a 1.5 mile jog down to the 'village of Carlsbad. McDonalds, etc. are within walking distance.

So wonderful staff is kind and friendly. They are extreamly helpful. I didn't think of bringing a bag to hold the towels for the LegoLand watermark and they offered one and provided the towels. I was so grateful. Best experience.

The hotel sits in a great location. Not far from the town center and lots of restaurants. The bed is a bit soft and the price is a little over what it shoudl be. I think they are charging for the easy access to the beach. This beach area is a litttle difficult to get down to, the walk is probably at least a half mile even though the hotel sits directly across from the ocean. There are cliffs at this point and access is limited.

Average 3 star hotel with great service. The kids were felt really welcome and the free shuttle to Legoland was an added bonus.

Our stay at the HIlton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach was excellent. It totally exceeding our expectations. The staff was beyond wonderful. Will come again.

The hotel was clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a Wed, Thu, and Fri kids movie showing that we missed because we checked in on Saturday. We'd like to go back next year to enjoy the hotel's offerings like this, and the proximity to the beach. Not to mention LegoLand!

Only draw back is that it states "across the street from the beach", which is true. However, the beach is down a rather precarious, and steep embankment. It is not easily accessed and would be very difficult to carry beach items such as chairs down to that beach. It is also very small and only useable part of the day (low tide) even if you did manage to get down there. There are some beaches both north and south about 1 mile, but the statement "across the street from the beach" is a little misleading.

We most definitely will return. Great service!

Everything from check in to check out was perfect!! Watching the sunset from a bench at the hotel was breath taking. Will definitely stay again.

Hotel is convenient to shops, restaurants and the beach. Property is well kept, room was very clean and comfortable. Beware of the drink prices: charge $7.50 for a Pacifico beer.

THe hospitality was beyond superb! It was by far the best hotel we have ever stayed at, and we travel alot all over the states. Our trip had a lot of bumps in it, but when I got to your hotel, the staff turned it around for us:) we will definitely refer people and will always stay there if we come back.

This hotel is very well run. The rooms are clean. Beds are firm. It is very kid friendly. Directly across the street from the beach. Close to good restaurants. Staff is friendly and knowledgable. Breakfast buffet is excellent and a good deal too. I would stay here again and recommend that anyone stay here. You'll be happy you did.
