Of course we'll be back! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, valet not always there, but overall great hotel with great location! :)

Noisy and uncomfortable. Rooms not ready on time. Valet brought wrong car and refused to believe us.worst hotel ever. Stay away Co Go

Live loud music from hotel lobby, late into the night caused us to check out a day early.

They don't clean your room and they double book the room.

The staff possessed general knowledge about the area, restaurants, etc. If the hotel had internet access. If you need internet access do not stay here. It is in a great location.

Room was small but nice for one person. Loud DJ in the very small lobby was INTERESTING.

A great place to stay if you already know the SoBe area and don't have to be right on the beach just for the view. Save some cash (you'll need it for everything else in SoBe) and be just a 5 minute walk away from all the beachfront activites. The boutique style hotel is perfect for the area and because it's quaint, you won't feel run over with 100's of other guests. Clean, nice, good staff, and enjoyable people overall.

Hotel itself was nowhere near as nice as pictures make it seem. However, hotel staff, especially manager and asst manager went out of there way to solve any problems

I flew to South Beach on a lark one random Thursday in March, booking my room at Hotel Chelsea the same day before jumping on the plane to Miami. Upon my arrival in Miami, a shuttle serving a group of hotels on South Beach can be utilized (free of charge) in lieu of a pricey $30-something cab ride. While my reservation had not yet gone through upon my arrival, the cheerful woman at the front desk collected my bag, informed me of the free happy hour later in the day, and directed me to a few good places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. After killing some time taking in the sights and sounds of South Beach (Hotel Chelsea being only a few short blocks from Ocean Drive), a call from the cheerful woman at the front desk let me know that my room was ready. A king size bed, modern appearance, and good-sized TV being the highlights. Sometimes working bathroom fixtures, the weirdest channel listing I've ever seen, and no view being the negatives. But you don't go to Hotel Chelsea to stay inside. You go to sit outside on the patio, drink a cold beverage, converse with strangers, smoke some hookah, and enjoy a short vacation from the life you left behind. And for that purpose, Hotel Chelsea is perfect.

valet took an hour..........no internet service.........no coffee maker......no coffee at 11 ........

Staff was friendly rooms were quite small. No hand towels or face cloths certain amenities such as tissues were not supplied. Room was dark. It was fine just to sleep. Didn't spend much time there. Friday night on our return from dinner there was a large noisy party but then again it is south beach...

Modern decor, nice staff, hot water, comfy bed. I loved it.

The bar in the front lobby was really loud throughout the night and didn't sleep much because of the loud music and people. I was disappointed to find out that the parking was so expensive and far away. The parking was either valet parking for $32 per night or parking structure which was about 7 minute walk and or on the street parking, both you had to pay by the hour. The neighborhood was a bit dangerous so it was scary to walk at night after I parked the car at the structure by myself. I don't think I will ever stay there or recommend it to anyone.

All in All a good stay. Its a party hotel, and a darn good one.

Nice hotel in a good location. Rooms are cozy and staff was exceptional. But there was No WiFi in the rooms only the lobby ... And the Outdoor patio with hookah and music playing until 3 am was awesome for us as we were there to party!

Great location. Walk to beach, shopping, and dining. Free drinks at happy hour are fun. Small rooms when travelling with 2 children. Comfortable. The staff were helpful in organizing excursions.

Room were very nice,trendy and cozy. The daily happy hours between 7-8 serve the predrink purpose.Management was very helpful(especially the receptionist in the mis 30's). Holtel is also located close to all the famous night clubs( like Mansion-best pub i saw in south beach) and brach restaurants. Thr night club passes provided by the hotel came in handy to get in mansion but had to pay few bucks. We should have used the guest list option given by the hotel but you should let the hotel management know before 6 pm.

Great art deco hotel. Five minute walk to the beach. Close to all the action on Ocean Ave. Clean, comfortable, quiet hotel.

hot water was lacking--a cup of coffee in the morning would be good

Very clean room with very comfortable bed, nice staff, both front desk and bar. Close to beach and nice restaurants as well as a 7/11 that have coffee and breakfast items.

Check in was slow do to other hotel guests. The rooms are dark. There is a bar in the lobby and they played VERY loud music at night and I stayed on a Sunday. They finally turned it off a after 3 phone calls. If you want to stay up late and party it would be ok. I f you want to sleep consider staying somewhere else. Nice and close to everything. There is a free shuttle from the airport although we waited over an hour for it to come and then we waived at it when we saw it and it changed lanes and drove away from us so we had to get a taxi.

Nice hotel just 2 blocks from the Beach!

Great small boutique for the moderate price (compared to surrounding hotels). Lobby Bartenders are great, and free happy hour drinks nightly are a nice touch. Very close to South Beach nightlife, but far enough away to not be noisy.

Hotel was clean, but dated. The staff were very friendly and quite helpful. they upgraded our room because we used our AmEx card to a room above the bar scene! JUST A LITTLE NOISY. The room had no bath curtain for the shower which is normal for this hotel apparently , but climbing into the oversized black tub and showering was a challenge not to get the room overly wet. Location was good for Art Basil and the price was fair for the time of year.

It was nice. i hated that they gave away my king size beds and I ended up with 2 fulls. This put a bad taste in my mouth immediately. Room was ok. Floor was un level and weird to walk on. Bathrooms were very small and had no counter space. Music in Lobby was always to loud all night and it was hard to sleep around midnight. Overall it was an ok place to stay. They had a free happy hour so not to bad.

The hotel itself is very nice. The front desk ladies were very helpful and friendly. But the music!!!!! OMG! We thought Saturday night was bad, but Sunday night was horrible! They played very obnoxious rap with four letter words. I know some people like that but they should NOT be playing that at what I consider a nice boutique South Beach hotel. Never again!

"Where's hotel parking?" There ISN'T ANY!! There's no free parking ANYWHERE on this island! Oddly enough, Hotel Chelsea charged $34/day for staying guests (valet) where the neighboring hotel, Hotel Astoria, only charged $28 for VISITORS! Two blocks down are a few parking garages and it was about $1/hour but at least it was covered from the elements. If I had known there was an extra charge of $24/day for parking, I would have chosen a different location that was more tranquil. Also, they take a $200 deposit for "incidentals". Even Motel 6 doesn't do THAT! Because the lobby houses both the front desk AND the bar, the lobby always smells like a fraternity house the day after a party. Luckily, you're not in the lobby for long so you can hold your breath as you walk through. The front desk people are pretty much useless. I went on a few 6+ mile jogs during my stay and, upon my return, asked if I could have a cup of water. The girl looked at me matter-of-factly and said "the kitchen is closed." I looked at the bar and said, "you can't walk over there and get a glass of water for me?" "No." Oddly enough, on the front of the building it states it offers "breakfast, lunch, appetizers and cocktails" so how is water "from the menu"? Ultimately, the room is small but tasteful. It looked clean but I didn't have an ultraviolet light to prove the point. The front desk people have no other ability or qualifications than to take your money for check in/out.

My friends and I needed a place to stay for a night while we were coming from Jamaica and had an overnight layover in Miami before going home. I looked every where for a great hotel and was super surprised to find Hotel Chelsea which had a great and reasonable price considering all of the amenities! They had a shuttle to and from the airport which was a great factor in my decision to stay there. The hotel was awesome and the staff were so friendly. We were able to leave our bags at the front desk because we were three hours early before check-in which was nice because we then walked around Miami, ate lunch, and then chilled out at the beach. The beach was less than 2 blocks away! The rooms were fabulous...everyone kept commenting on how great it looked and that it was by far the best hotel we had been at in awhile...my friend even stated it was better than the high end hotel she stayed at down the street. We loved the beds and the fact that we wanted to go out that night but got into the beds and crashed because they were so comfortable says it all...and they sleep 4 comfortably!!! The happy hour was great and the fact that we could get VIP passes if we did go out for free is a nice touch. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you and we will be back any time we visit Miami!! We didn't like the fact that my friend had to put down $100 deposit when we got there...on a credit card and wouldn't get it back for a week.

We had an excellent stay here. Not that we slept much. Great room, great location!

Only stay here if you want a party weekend - which most people do in Miami. They claim having strong wifi but this is only in the lobby where there play super super loud rap all day long so it is impossible to work or chill. It feels like your stuck in a bad club all day. I like hip hop but frankly they played some super hard core and offensive rap which I found inappropriate for a hotel - playing music which mentions raping girls with guns to their heads is not respectful of all guests.

I was very pleased with everything, I would stay there again.

Rooms too dark. Shower water spills onto floor. Otherwise, hotel great.

Just as advertised. Fine place. Rooms in back are perfectly quiet.

It was very good, except for the fact that there was no hot water.

We stayed here on Oct 14. When we entered the hotel, there was music playing loudly similar to club music. We didn't know that the music wouldn't stop until 2am. It was so loud, when checking in, I had to repeat myself multiple times because the employee couldn't hear me. We were told that we had been upgraded to a suite. This was the first suite I ever stayed in located right above a night club. The music I spoke of earlier, we were right above. The room was nicely updated, but the tub was clearly not part of the update. The staff was nice and easy to deal with. I know that I will never stay at this hotel or any of it's sister properties in the future.

The Hotel was perfect, just 2 blks from the beach. The room was nice and cozy, big TV, and a nice radio in the room.. They had a open bar with a DJ a night. Needed more towels then they supplied, but overall it was a good Hotel.

found a roach, that did not bother me so much but it did bother my girlfriend a great deal
