The standard of the rooms and attentive service are excellent. The Ambleside Salutation should have 4 stars. It's even got a health club and pool.

fantastic hotel, excellent facilities and perfect for relaxing after a good days walk. Breakfast food was tip-top, fast service and fills a gap or two if you attempt the double-grill.... on the down side, only two issues i can remember, firstly, the hotel parking is only suitable for mini's, even that is subject if you can obtain a space as reversing nearly all the way out seemed the only option. Secondly, we were on the top floor of a lodge at the back of the hotel which had an apex roof for which underneath the lower parts of the apex had the seating area where we were prone to banging heads on the beams. The surrounding area of Ambleside was kept clean and presentable and look forward to returning soon.

i loved this hotel from the jacuzzi bath in the bathroom, to the amazing breakfast to the on site spa to the helpful staff to the bargain price. This hotel was great and i can not wait to stay again.

An excellent three day break, helped by fab (for Feb) weather. Nice hotel though the room was very small. Staff were excellent. Evening meal wasn't great but the breakfast was. Would stay again.

Lovely hotel with excellent ammenities. Public areas of the hotel are really nicely done with lots of sitting areas, the swimming pool is a good size with good facilities including an outside hot tub. Staff are really friendly and the food was excellent, especially the breakfast. Ambleside has a lot of restaurants and shops so there is plenty to do and also is great for walking.

Excellent hotel - the decor, service and dining deserve more than the 3 stars. Really good value.

Great stay with our little son and dog in tow. Very helpful staff and hotel is in a great location.

This is a really nice hotel. They are too modest about the great leisure facilities, and should make more of it. the Canadian hot tub just outside was amazing with the rain lashing down and the river rapids flashing by only metres away.

AFTER WE RETURNED FROM OUR WALK IN THE FELLS, WE ENJOYED THE BENEFITS OF THE SPA AREA, THE OUTDOOR HOT TUB WAS AMAZING, INDULGING IN THE TUB WITH OUTDOOR TEMPERATURES,SUB ZERO WAS BRILLIANT, HOWEVER A JUICE BAR OR FACILITIES FOR REFRESHMENTS WOULD MAKE THE OCCASION MORE MEMORABLE. WE WILL DEFINITLY RETURN & WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL

Room and leisure facilities particularly good. Good value. Staff helpful.

We spent 4 nights in Best Western Ambleside. Some of the staff seemed disinterested in their work. The room was small for a 4 night stay & the wardrobe not easily accessible. The shower screen made using the bath taps an impossible task. Apparently the beds are being replaced which is well overdue. The spa facilities made the stay more enjoyable. Hopefully improvements will continue.

Comfortable room, great outlook over the town. Good dining.

3 star hotel with 5 star gym, pool and spa. Even teens love the outdoor jacuzzi. Breakfast is fantastic. Lots of nice restaurants in Ambleside. Nearby we did waterskiing, great fun even for us novices. Also 30 minutes away go-ape tree top climb great fun. Returned for relax in gym and spa. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is in the centre of Ambleside and very convenient. Great welcome and the room was clean and comfortable. What was surprising was the quality of the food - both at breakfast and in the bistro in the evening. A great experience overall and one I shall use again.

The whole stay was perfect. The breakfast is the best I have ever known in a hotel chain in UK. There was a plentiful choice of cooked meats and fish as well as a fine selction of breads and fruit. The homemade marmalade was lovely. Service in the bar and restaurant was totally as it should be. The food was excellent except for an over microwaved bread roll and an overcooked steak - both were cheerfully exchanged by polite, efficient and helpful waiters. The spa and pool were excellent although the steam room was too cold to use. The outdoor hot tub was a very welcome and unusual feature! On site parking was convenient. The hotel was in the centre of Ambleside - convenient for all Ambleside has to offer. It would be nice to return in the future.

Our stay was fabulous; it was just what was needed. The accomodation was superb and we made full use of the balcony. The staff were polite and professional and the evening meal we had in the hotel was reasonably priced and well presented. The wholw stay was a pleasure and we shall deffinately return.

Very comfortable and conveniently located Good Lounge area for relaxing witha drink.

I booked this hotel on a personal recommendation for a romantic getaway/walking weekend. This is definately a place to book, great location in the centre of Ambleside with easy access to walking routes. After a long hard dasy walking it felt great to relax in the pool, sauna, steamroom and outside jacuzzi, even in January !!! Will definately be going again.

Excellent stay with fantastic, friendly, helpful staff. Food was good, and so were the facilities. We thought it was great value for money and we WILL return to this absolute gem !!

Hotel Sautation Ambleside. In centre of town. Convenient for all amenities. Very good breakfast. Helpful staff. Good fires in lounges on cold wet days. Room adequate if a little small and no view. Unfortunate for the Lake District. Clean and recently refurbished. We will stay again next year.

ideal location in centre of Ambleside, ample parking, excellent friendly service and good food. Rooms are not luxurious, but modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean

The hotel is right in the centre of Ambleside, excellent location for visitors and walkers, you park your car for free at the hotel and wont need it again :-). We went for my birthday and although the hotel couldn't offer me a complimentary upgrade due to nearly being fully booked, they offered me a half price upgrade to their newly built Woodlands Suit which is a stand alone club room, like a little apartment, with large TV and sofas, separate bedroom with additional TV and DAB/IPOD audio unit and a wetroom bathroom with underfloor heating and spa bath - it was really lovely and very comfortable with its own parking space underneath. The main hotel is a little old fashioned and charming and clean and warm and the staff were so, so friendly, finding fell walks for us to do and they even sent me a birthday card on the day :-) The breakfasts are delicious, waiter service for the main cooked breakfast and helf yourself to lovely hot porridge, continental meats, breads etc and fruits, yougurts, cakes, anything you could ever want for breakfast really. There's also a lovely pool, steamroom, sauna and outdoor spa tub (great) and high tech gym. There's a beauty spa upstairs for treatments too. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely will be returning |:-)

The location of this hotel is excellent. It is in the heart of Ambleside, a busy town in the lake district. There were lots of walks, pubs and restaurants in easy walking distance. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was lovely. The staff are very helpful. We stayed in the Wansfell Lodge at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet and modern. Parking at the hotel is limited and spaces are small. We also availed of the spa onsite and again the staff were lovely and the treatments were very relaxing. I would stay here again if I were visiting the Lake District.

staff friendly,hotel location was half a mile from lake windermere and in main town of ambleside but nice and quiet.

Excellent hotel, excellent central location. Gym and pool facilities brill especailly the steam room with scented shower. Only fault was with the meal i had in the bar which was Minted Lamb and potatoes with no veg. Couldn't believe it, north of england and i got meat with no veg. I wouldn't however cut my nose off to spite my face and ill be back in the same hotel next time i go walking in the lakes as its the best one ive stayed in. ill just buy my evening meal elsewhere. lol

Great hotel in Ambleside, well positioned, good service and great breakfast

I spent 2 nights with a friend at this hotel and could fault nothing. The hotel is charming, nicely decorated with excellent facilities. The staff were extremely efficient and helpful and the food was very good. I travel a great deal internationally and cannot remember the last time I had such a pleaseant experience at a hotel. I would recommend it to anybody at any time. Superb!

Only dissapointment was the size of bedroom - which would have been ideal for single occupancy. For a couple, there was no room to relax as we felt a 10ft x 10ft room was far to small. The food and hotel staff were excellent

An excellent hotel for a relaxing weekend right in the center of Ambleside. Centrally located to allow visits to Kendal, keswick and all the surrounding lakes. The hotel as on site parking althouth some of it requires some manouvering when busy, However the hotel is very well presented and very clean. The only downside, for me, is that the hotel allows dogs in some of the rooms, this was not made clear when booking, and is very annoying when owners leave them in the room to howl especially if your room is in the same corridor as mine was. The choice and service at breakfast was good although the cooked items are not self service and you have to be specific about how may of each item you want otherwise the default is 1. The lesuire facilities are excellent the gym being very state of the art and the outside hot tub is very refreshing particularly on a cool March day. Overall a good place to stay in a central location.

都会から離れたせいか、のんびりとしていて、すごく静かな町でした。ただ、時期の変わり目でもあり、暖房がきかずちょっと寒い気がしました
