There were no radiators in the room so i was not able to dry my swimming costume for the next day. Fantastic hair dryer and very welcoming staff at the front desk.

It was all right but too far from the train station

My partner and I were staying at the hotel as we were attending a wedding in the nearby St Albans. I really enjoyed my stay here. The food in the bar area is more the kind of food I would like to eat than in the restaurant and would recommend the pizza. The pool was heated which is a lovely change for me. The customer service though was amazing from all of the staff. I could not work the shower but when I rang down someone came to help me in about 5 minutes. Also there was a girl who was on reception who was so helpful. A refreshing change to stay somewhere where the staff are all exceptional. I found the hotel to be great value for money. People had also mentioned in previous posts about it being difficult to find and that it would be difficult to get to if not driving. I got a bus from St Albans train station to outside the hotel and the same on the way back which cost about £3-4 and it was approximately £15-20 for a taxi from Luton Airport.

My stay was excellent close to Motorway links and StAlbans and Harpenden city centre.

the only problem was that the room service food came1 1/2 late...they confused the order however charged full price.

Close to an amazing little Indian restaurant - within in walking distance.

Very clean hotel the breakfast was superb lots of choice and well presented

The hotel was fine but on leaving the reception staff insisted that nothing had been deducted from my card and that we still had to pay, even though I said that Hotels.com had taken payment. Seeing as how we were on our way to an urgent appointment we had to pay cash, only to find out later Hotels.com had in fact charged my card as well. So, I'm currently attempting to recover the money from EITHER party (it's Dec 24th so a bit difficult) and hotels.com have not replied to my email. I assume they will post this review or respond to my email now...

nice hotel but staff dont seem to know that the room was fully paid for through hotels.com and was trying to charge again at check out

this is a very good standard hotel i will use it again no problem we also paid for breakfast on arrivel which is cheaper than to pay at breakfast time the breakfast was first class overall great hotel

Stayed on Saturday night and was very satisfied. Hotel is quite large but leisure centre was not over-crowded in the early evening or Sunday morning. Good facilities, including small indoor pool. Double room was on the small side but very clean and excellent value. We skipped breakfast so I am unable to comment on food. There was some road noise but otherwise quiet. Efficient reception desk

The hotel needs a refurbishment, the room was pokey, not well thought out design, maintenance needs to check the bathroom sinks to make sure the plugs work. I dont understand the need to fill the room with furniture that just doesnt fit in without making it look over crowded. Mobile phone reception was terrible - I know this in the fault of the hotel but worth noting in case anyone wants to stay here and use their mobile. Food was ok but over the last few stays I have had there they need to look at the basics, if they offer a bread with a meal then dont fail to deliver - surely that is an easy one. The chef seemed more interested in getting out the specials than the basics. I had two nights in a row when they failed to have the bread on the menu. Has the potential to be a really nice hotel if only they would update it. On the plus side the staff at check in were friendly and moved me when I asked.

Two of the main ingredients !! staff could not have been nicer, especially the barman/manager.. breastfast was excellent to.

A very tired and worn hotel which has clearly seen better days. The furniture in our room was placed in awkward positions, with no planning at all. The double bed was pushed into a corner which meant that one of use had to climb over the other to get in and out. Other furniture was in odd positions as well e.g. a TV unit some way from the wall because it was in front of a large radiator. Moving a chair revealed some discarded coffee sachets which had not been picked up by the cleaner. The bathroom was clean, but other than that there are not a lot of positive things to say about this hotel.

A very pleasant stay. No real complaints.

We were very impressed with our stay here. The hotel is well looked after and has a very attentive staff. The rooms are clean and well furnished. They are a little smaller than you would find in a Trvelodge but that is a minor point, considering he hotel is older. For our meal on the main night we ordered room service and this was excellent value for money. The burger was an 8oz and the food was served hot and quickly. There was a wedding reception there, in a room on our floor, on the Saturday night but we were not distrubed by it at all. We really enjoyed our stay but were not able to enjoy the pool and gym, as we didn't ahve time. We highly recommend this as good value for money but of a high standard.

The room we had was comfortable but a little narrow, with little space to walk at the end of the beds.

one of the best hotels in this price range that i have stayed. rooms very comfortable, bar snacks quick and good.

We used this hotel for an overnight stay travelling from Sheffield down to Chelmsford. The hotel was easy to find and just 5 minutes off the M1. We chose the hotel because it was really cheap, and meant we did not have to veer off course too much. Was pleasantly surprised at the great value for money. The room was comfortable, staff were friendly and swimming/sauna facilities free of charge were a welcomed bonus. Also convenient if flying from Luton as I believe you can leave your car at the hotel while away on holiday free of charge.

God oplevelse, fantastisk service. Gode faciliteter - og rigtig god mad på hotellets spise- og drikkefaciliteter. Så alt i alt, kan kun anbefales!
