Kachina Lodge Resort Hotel & Meetings Center - טאוס

I was very comfortable in the hotel and only regretted not to have more days to be there. My dining experience was superb. The food was fresh and tasty, the surroundings in the coffee shope were extremely pleasing. The dining room where the buffet was located is out of a movie. The furniture is exquisite. I would go back there when I am in Taos again.

Very nice breakfast service. Front desk was training a new employee so check in was a little slow. Hotel is dated and needs updates - hallways were dirty, carpet walls ect. but it served it's purpose for our stay and the rate was right for the area. Hot tub had a larger dirt ring around the top and the pool was still covered. Pigeons were roosted in the eves right outside the hotel room. Rooms have balconies on the 2nd floor (level we stayed on) that are kind of a nice to have.

The breakfast was amazing, the hotel is lovely but the neighborhood is a little sketchy at best. We woke up in the middle of the night to shouting and a domestic disturbance followed by the police surrounding a room the next morning. That could have just been a bad night on a weekend, the second night was much quieter, however the staff was lovely and the hotel is nice.

Used to be a beautiful property now it's out of date and rooms are dirty.

For an older motel it was VERY nice. Staff was helpful and offered suggestions on places to eat/drink that were wonderful. Hottest hot tub I have ever been in. I will stay there again next time I am in Taos.

I expected the pool opened even when I would not use it and more options for breakfast but what you get for the price you pay is rally fair.and I would be there again.

outdoor patio by swimming pool needs maintenance, interior lobby very nice.

The only issue I could think of was that my room was not fully cleaned when I arrived. The hot tub, breakfast and everything else was wonderful.

While booking a hotel online, this place seemed like our best option, but this was a: "you get what you pay for" situation minus the fact that we probably payed too much. The room was a decent size, but the layout was quite strange. It smelled and looked dirty. The bathroom was VERY outdated and when we tried to shower, the water wouldn't drain from the tub. Also, none of the ice machines worked and the room did not have a fridge, (although the online description told of a fridge). Lastly, during the last night of our stay, someone keyed our vehicle. When considering this dump of a "hotel", just say no.

Although the place was not kept up or very clean it met my need at the time. The breakfast offered was so limited I should have gone to McDonalds.

This hotel has been around for quite a while. The bathrooms are outdated, but clean and the water is hot. The layout is most odd, however the bedroom is roomy with a king bed, sofa and table. We were given a slight upgrade in rooms upon checkin. The bed was OK. The TV was not flat screen. There was no coffeemaker in the room. The included breakfast was excellent. It was made to order. The red chile on the Spanish omelet is really good!

Bathroom had no light when I called the front desk I was told there is not one and she would tell maintenance Monday ... Today is Saturday ! I waited for 30 minutes to check in and when I ate breakfast at 9. Am there was no forks or plates and waited an hour for someone to finally put food out!!!!!

Horrible experience. I booked a room for 3 people. When we get there after a long drive, the receptionist informs us that she doesn't have the key to the roll away bed room. She also informed us that the "cable was out." We get to the room and not only is the cable out, but there is no t.v. in the room at all! Tissue box was empty also. In the morning, the people upstairs had their kid or other abomination running laps all morning long. SUPER ANNOYING. There was hardly any people at the hotel. Whey did they pile EVERYONE in the same part of the same building? Spreading people out, might have helped everyone get some rest. 25% room fee? Is that how you can advertise such low rates? Just to be hit with 25% fee at check out? Scumbag move.

While the Kachina is an older hotel, it is well maintained and kept clean and in good order. The complimentary breakfast was much more than continental, hot offerings were also there. The only quibble I have is that it is located just north of downtown, while my Taos appointments were on the south side of town. And Taos has the worst traffic bottleneck around.

This was a repeat visit and it lived up to my expectations. Bathrooms, especially bathtubs could be better.

The outside appearance is nice but the facility is run down, dirty and in overal decline. The staff was very nice. The "FREE" breakfast was interesting where it was unattended by any staff to clean the tables or maintain the seating area as the morning wore on. We ate at the restaurant down the street every morning . We got what we paid for... I will never stay here again.

The first room we were assigned too was VERY dirty - It looked like housekeeping had left in the middle of cleaning the room, even all of their cleaning supplies were still there. The location of the lodge is very convenient, but the rooms are not updated and dirty. The free hot breakfast was served in a dark room and the serving area was not appealing at all. We did not eat breakfast at the lodge during our three day stay. The staff was very unhelpful and dis-interested. Will not stay again. Too bad because the lodge is in a good location.

Very good for the price

Staff was great. Place needs updating. Bed comfortable and clean. No clock or coffee pot in room. Shower great. Long distance from our room to the spa, and had to walk outside. Overall I would stay there again, price was good.

While somewhat outdated and in need of a few updates (ie: new pillows, caulk to bathroom) it was sufficient for our purpose. The morning breakfast (which is FREE) was a nice touch and the desk staff were pleasant and helpful.

The room was clean & the bed was comfortable. The free breakfast was good with excellent red chili.

The hotel was in a conveinient area, and the bed was comfy. The problems we had was we tried to check in a little early to our room and the not so friendly staff told us that we could not check until 3pm. So we came back slightly after 3pm and we were told that our room was still not ready, and we would have to wait. We told them that we needed a room asap and they said they would put us into a different room which was great, but upon arriving to our room we found dirty clothes wadded up in the window seal and also dirty razors in the bath tub which led me to believe that the room and not been cleaned. Again it was a comfy bed and a good nights sleep which is all that matters, but they could really beef up on their housekeeping.

Hotel is run-down and in a part of town where there were a lot of transients in the parking lot and walking by. The room had a smell and the phone was falling apart. The door did not fully close properly. The incentives of free breakfast and bottle of wine were not enough to make me want to stay there again.

very large rooms. beds comfortable. clean except bathtub has stains....not dirty but stained. Breakfast is included. Choice of Spanish omlet....cheese omlet....other choices not including eggs.....only one beverage....coffee or juice not both. Would stay again.

the reception area and staff were great. Free hot breakfast was mediocre. french toast, sausage and the like. However, the room was about as bad as I've ever seen. The deep pile carpet was worn and dirty, clearly indicating heavy traffic at the front door. The walls were paper thin, I could hear everything next door. The ceiling was paper thin, i could hear everything upstairs. The bathroom had a drippy faucet and a missing bulb cover.

Hotel is in a good location if you are going to Red River or Taos Ski Valley. The room's are old but decent. The free breakfast is something and eggs (eg, toast, biscuit, pancakes). The hot tub and pool are in good working order. However, I'd stay somewhere, especially if you have your wife with you.

started off bad as my reservation was not received correctly. staff was able to correct the error, but was less than excited. hotel and room had a lot of traditional flavor although it could use better upkeep and maintenance. location and price were perfect for a quick visit to all of the historic sights.

Grim hallways have stained floors that look like they are never vacuumed, let alone washed. Our room was never "made up" on the second day of our stay, despite requests and promises. A call was promised by the hotel owner, but it never happened. Musty smell. The hotel, I believe, recently lost its Best Western affiliation.

Good location, can walk to Plaza, Adobe Bar. Slow bathtub drain and toilet seat that wouls not stay up were irritating. Good rates.

Stayed during off season so it was sparsely occupied, which was nice. The room we got was reasonably priced and large, with a shared balcony. Located on the north side of Taos, which we liked. Have stayed here before and will stay here again.
