Convenient to our visiting relatives around the city. Close - by shopping. Lots of history nearby. Parking less desirable but doable.

Wrong choice for me. I had no need to be downtown and it was a hassle. There is no easy parking, $20 a day public parking across the street. Drag your luggage.....no breakfast with the room, but the Cora downstairs was good. All in all not for me, perhaps ok for the downtown crowd.

Good price for a short stay. We were in a corner room, very stuffy and dark and gloomy. One small window looked over at another building. The room was not as clean as it should have been. I don't think anyone washed the laminate flooring between guests( spill on floor was not cleaned). Hotel was recently renovated. Not sure if I would choose this hotel again.

Stay was fine, location was excellent. Stayed there one night for a hockey game. 400 meters from the bell center was perfect for us since we partied a lot and we just walked. The hotel room was clean but ultra small. The bathroom was clean as well but very small. I'm 6 feet tall and sitting on the toilet meant almost having my legs in the bathtub (no joke my knees touching the tub). I wouldn't stay there for 2 or three nights because of the size of the room (smaller queen room they call it). However for one night like we did it was acceptable. I fail to see how they rate hotels with 3 stars or 4 stars. This one was rated 4 stars but felt more like a 3 star. Parking is not free and is 19.50$ for 24 hours when you pay at the desk. If you pay directly at the lot its 25$ Might be nice to put your name on your car keys because they put them all in one big box and they ask you to identify your key when you want them. Maybe putting the room number on your keys would have been a nice touch from them.

Reasonably priced. Room was extremely small and would not stay here again unless the room was larger

Totally enjoyable, very friendly people, and close to lots of area shopping and attractions. Room was clean and very nice.

The rooms are of sufficient size, not spacious but fine for 1-2 people. The hotel is steps to Ste. Catherine Street, perfect for shopping trips. Also it is easy walking distance to events at the Bell Centre which was the purpose of our trip. Other area hotels are easily double the price and we used the money we saved to do some extra clothes shopping. Mr. Steer has great burger lunches around the corner. The hotel bar is open late and has decent appetizers or late-night pub snacks and great service. Overall, very pleased except for some kind of a heating system noise outside the bedroom, noticeable but not loud enough to keep us awake.

perfect for one night stay

My friends and I came down to Montreal for a one-night stay for the P!nk concert at the Bell Centre. This hotel was extremely convenient as it was literally across the road, meaning we didn't have to rush at all to find parking or get congested trying to get out after the concert. We had a lovely dinner at the restaurant, and Cora's being attached was a quick and yummy breakfast. The room itself was in good condition, but we weren't really paying much attention to that - it was really just a place to sleep after the concert. It was close to a lot of shopping, and for people like my friends and I who grew up in English communities and were not immersed in French, the staff is bilingual and friendly. The only downside was parking, in that the hotel did not provide any. To park across the road was an additional fee and the valet there was not exactly friendly, which isn't the fault of the hotel, but still put a damper on the experience. I would stay there again, and would recommend it to others, but get there early to ensure there's room for your vehicle - and lock it up tight.

Just saw PINK at Bell Centre and the hotel was a perfect place for a concert with friends. So close, we just walked, but car parking is an extra $20 overnight across the street. Added a cot in the room for $25 extra, which was very comfortable, and the room was big enough for it and all our stuff, room 429. The entrance is odd, if you want a cart, having to go down into the lobby via a small elevator, then through the lobby back into 2 other very small elevators. Otherwise service was excellent, and having Cora's there for breakfast was awesome.

this hotel is all about location, location, location! You're a block from Saint Catherine and the Bell Centre! The staff are very friendly, room was nice but on the smaller side.

Its close to everything .. stores. restaurants shops and malls.. my second time at this hotel and would reccommend it..Even tho you pay a couple of bucks more.. its worth it..its quiet and clean..what else do you want.. thumbs up

All hotel personal were great and very well informed. Great location, one block from the Bell Centre if you going for hockey.

The room was quite small especially with luggage. The website did not accurately reflect the reality of the size of the room which was quite disappointing. The bathroom was extremely small.

The person that serve us at the check-in seemed in a hurry and irritated when we asked some questions about the hotel while traffic was not at all crowded. Overall the cleanliness was ok, but not flawless. The hotel was conveniently located near attractions, restaurants and transportation service. There was a good free wifi, but no in-room safes.

This is a nice clean hotel with good WIFI, no carpet in the rooms and good service. Location is excellent in downtown montreal.

We had an excellent stay at the BW. The location was great, the beds are very comfortable, and the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. I loved the hardwood floors, and the rooms were very spacious. Also good temperature control. The only negative is that they do not have in-room safes.

The room smelled like smoke and in lieu of running an air purifier (which the hotel staff acknowledged they had), the room was simply sprayed with air freshner which made the smell worse.

Fair price for a great downtown location. The hotel is less than a block from the airport bus route stop, in a quiet street but conveniently located downtown, close to the busy shopping Sainte Catherine street. My queen size bed room was a little small by US standards, but very clean and quiet. The coffee maker and large screen TV made up for it. Fridge in the room is very convenient if you're staying a few days, and the staff is discreet but efficient, friendly and helpful. The front desk helped me figure out the bus system, they even gave me change in coins so I could get on the bus. Overall, nice and pleasant stay in Montreal.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food facilities were great. It was close to many attractions and very close to the central train station . Will choose it again if the opportunity arises.

It was OK, but not what I asked for, which was a room with two beds. I got one bed and barely-room-enough-to-walk-around that.

This is a fine inexpensive hotel for anyone who does not intend to spend a lot time in the room. The rooms are small, but they are clean and comfortable. The WiFi is "open" and works flawlessly. The location is great as it is in the heart of the English entertainment/shopping district in Montreal. Service was cheerful when needed.

hotel room was clean though small. most important thing was that the bed was clean and comfortable. television quality was subpar and wasn't clear. bathroom was smallish but clean; the shower clogged on day 1. i was unpleasantly surprised to discover a brown stain on the curtain of the window overlooking rue drummond and a parking lot i'd like to think that it was chocolate. not much else really going on in the hotel it has a very awkward layout which you'll notice when you get there. you're in the middle of everything so no point staying in your room anyway.

Hotel is very close to downtown near Rue St. Catherine, close to shopping, attractions and the METRO transit system for getting around - a most enjoyable experience.

The hotel room was very nice but the bathroom was very small. I had to sit with my legs to the side of the toilet. I am only 5' 10" tall.

Great, except the weather

Not sure if this is linked or not to have booked the room with Hotels.com or not but we had a rather shabby overnight stay. First, the floor of our room was NOT accessible by lift - so we ended up having to carry our suitcases up and down one floor on a rather steep staircase. Second, we had to sleep in a room that was facing the main ventilation outlet and rather close to the lift motors. The noise was just ongoing for the whole night. Not a place we would recommend nor return too at all.

Ignorant staff, dirty/unclean rooms. Do not stay at this hotel

You cannot beat the location - right next to catherine street. the hotel doesn't have it's own parking per se - which i initially was concerned. but they have a deal with the lot and garage across the street -so no problems at all. the room was VERY modern - really nice and clean. staff was very helpful. note: the cleaning ladies tend to knock too early in the morning, and the rooms don't have "don't disturb signs" - at least not that i saw: i'd say bring your own, or scrawl one up. location was great, room was chic. the block the hotel is on is a little delapidated. but that's just the immediate block. two blocks away and you are in normal, developed areas.
