Gold Dust West Carson City - קרסון סיטי

My room was clean and quiet which are my basic requirements. I appreciated that when I put the "out and about" sign on my door, the room had always been cleaned and made up before I returned. Be aware, however, that the room had no microwave or fridge, just a coffee maker.

Close to freeway and town. Friendly

Our stay was excellent ...pleasant staff, and our was great! The meal we had for dinners s breakfast was superior! We will certainly stay there on our next trip home!

We loved the hot breakfast every morning! All in all we found the hotel to be a good value.

Very pleased with our stay although the non-smoking room smelled a little smoky - not too bad though. The restaurants, especially the Mexican restaurant, are excellent. Free breakfast was great too! The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Overall - highly recommended.

The ceiling had a big buldge 10" in diameter by about 3" with a small nickel sized hole in it. The roomed smelled very, very badly. Not necessarily smoke, but musty. My son had to go to the bathroom and when we flushed the toilet, the water was very low in it, guessing no-one flushed it recently and it shot water out of it, on his back and on the floor. Lastly, the people across the hallway had their door open and were talking very loudly - for hours. We had planned to skiing the next day so we went to bed (have kids) about 8:30pm and finally at 11am we called the front desk to let them know of the noise. And, the staff did ask them to quiet down and we finally slept. We will not go back and I cannot recommend it.

Overall good experience. Casino a little smokey. Nice people at the desk. Very nice waitress and good food in the restaurant. Would stay there again

The room was not the best or cleanest. First time this has ever happened while staying there. I was wondering if it was because we booked through Hotels.com and the room was already paid for.

Great place to stay.

We stay here often, so it must be decent! My only complaint was the mattress needed to be turned or replaced, as it sagged in the middle. It was mentiond to staff and they were very receptive.

I was very impressed with the property. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and immaculate! It had all the comforts of home away from home. The casino was also clean and inviting! All the staff at the casino had a smile and were there to make your experience one of a kind. The restaurant service and food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. The property also had a bowling alley and outdoor swimming. I will highly recommed the Gold Dust West to all my family and friends as a great place to stay in the Carson City area. Will be back there again!

Enjoyed the proximity to the casino action. Our only complaint is that our room which was listed as non-smoking smelled heavily of smoke, including the bedding. The smoke worsened overnight. The front desk felt it was because we were close to the smoking rooms, but interestingly enough, our room was in the middle of the non-smoking rooms and was the only room without a non-smoking plaque on the door.

An excellent hotel with lousy air circulation. The smoke of the adjoining casino filled the hallways and our bedroom.

Very nice place friendly people service great

They have friendly staff all day long. Cheap beer and food on both their restaurants. Only complaint only place to go around the area unless you like to drive 10-15 miles to the nearest town

The hotel staff is very curteous and professional. The food and service in the cafe is exceptional. However, the rooms are not very sound resistant to your neighbors and traffic in the hallway. Unfortunately you hear EVERYTHING you neighbors are doing and saying!

Nice place as long as you don't need the in room WiFi. It isn't very fast and not a strong signal.

Nice hotel, clean, I don't smoke and didn't smell any in my room on 1st floor. Breakfast is limited but good!

Breakfast was fabulous! Had noisy neighbor across hall.

Clean and a great room!

There were some good and some bad things about the hotel. PROS --Reasonable price for a clean room. --The staff were very friendly and even put up a welcome message for our soccer team on the monitor behind the front desk. --Very convenient being right next to the 395 on ramp. --The kids loved the on site bowling. --Complementary breakfast was good. Cons -- The lobby is connected to the casino so it does smell of smoke. Our room was on the first floor and I did not smell smoke in or near our room. --The alarm clock did not work. --All of the buttons on the phone did not work. --The alarm on the tv did not work, luckily my phone has an alarm. --There is a high school football stadium right behind the hotel so I had to listen to the stadium announcer for a few hours Friday night. All in all it was decent for the budget conscious traveler

Need to update the TV in the room to a flat screen. Followed the front desks instructions regarding the energy savings card reader in the room. Tried the heater in the room because the temp was to low 20s and all we got was a terrible furnace smell in the room from the heater. Had to turn it off and open the door to get the smell out, glad I requested a smoke free room..

We really enjoyed the staffs assistance getting us settled. They all went out of their way to make us comfortable. We will be returning to stay with them again soon. I highly recomend Them to all friends and family!!!!!!

Only concern I had was they closed the pool for a wedding at 5 oclock. It was full of families that had to leave. We had just arrived and wanted to cool off but were not able too.

Gold Dust West gave us good service and it was easy to check in and out. There was free breakfast for the occupants of the room along with $5 free play if you're a gambler. We visited Virginia City so the location was excellent. Thank you for keeping your hotel and the rooms in such great shape.

Good sized basic room with refer and microwave. Nice to have casino,bar,food,and bowling all close by. No stores close by for snacks,water,etc.

My wife and stayed at the Gold Dust West 8-5-11 and 8-6-11. We found the staff to be friendly if we made the effort to engage in conversation with them. The room was clean but the furniture and cabinets are worn, the carpet appeared to be new. the sheets were new but they don't use fitted bottom sheets, the flat sheets that they use don't fit properly so they tend to bunch up on the bed during the night . The towels were new and of good quality. The lobby smells of smoke as does the hall outside our no smoking room but the room did not. The doors to the hall are not sealed so that noise from the hall is a problem at times. All in all it's a decent hotel for the money.

So we stayed here just one night on July 30, 2011 just as a stop over for long drive from Utah to Cali. Got a great rate from hotels.com with free breakfast x 2. Arrived around 1000 pm with 2 kids and 2 adults. Location convenient to freeway and stores, casino inside with bowling alley which we never used anyway. My kids and I were shocked with the infestation of ants in the room! They were all over tables and carpets even in bathrooms! Felt some sticky things on table that probably attracted the ants. Killed most of them by foot and hand, did not bother to change room since it was late, we were tired and maybe other rooms are the same. Next thing that happened, while my kids and I watching TV and browsing pictures in computer from our trip in Utah, heard a loud knock on door x 2, they were the hotel security x 2 complaining about our noise and threatening to call Sheriff if we keep making noise. I did realize that we may be noisy with our kids but man! You don't have to threaten us with those words! It was probably even noisier in the casino which was just close to our room! So I talked to the manager and complained about the rude security by the name of "Kevin" and said he would let him know. They brag about their hotel being a friendly place but it's the opposite of that! I found it very unfriendly and even the staff and people looked like racists! Will never go back to this hotel ever!

The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and held at an actual restaurant at he hotel and not in a conference room like you would find in motels and inns. In my opinion; you will not find a better value in Carson City. Thank you Gold Dust; you made our trip much more pleasurable.

Room was clean, hotel was fairly quiet until morning hours when maids were very loud. Food at Ole' Ole' was very good.

The property is convenient to the major thoroughfares. The entire building smells heavily of cigarette smoke even when you get a room that is held up as being smoke free. Someone had done some repair work on the shower with work boots on and left dirt in the tub. Should have paid the extra few dollars and stayed at a Courtyard by Marriott.

We enjoyed our stay room was great staff very nice the new mexican restaurant outstanding we look forward to are next visit

good breakfast included with gambling money included. Great idea for bowling ally for kids and not so smokey in casino. I would stay there again.

Our non-smoking room reeked of smoke. I coughed and sneezed and my eyes were irriatated. Could hear every step of the people in the room above us. Directions to the motel were miss-leading.

What a great small town hotel/casino. Other than the front desk staff being a little slow, the accommodations were great. The Mexican restaurant there, Ole Ole, was exceptional...try the shrimp enchillada with jalapino cream cheese sauce! I definitely reccommend this small hotel/casino.
