Nice hotel in a small mid-western town

We were visiting a casino nearby. Pretty far from the casino. They're not affiliated, but listed on the casino's site. Their distance from the casino in no way influenced my review, just sharing that info. It's a gorgeous hotel on the inside. Lots of common areas, fireplaces, seating areas. The Tavern staff actually "jumped" at the idea of pulling two comfy chairs up in front of the fireplace, where we shared a cozy, MODESTLY priced delicious dinner. The room was sparkling clean. All the amenities you'd expect. Well, almost all. To be honest, I haven't seen a tube TV in a hotel in quite some time. Also, it may be a little "nit-picky", but when they say "double bed" they mean it. A double bed was cute when I was a kid, staying at Grandma and Grandpa's, but I'm a grown up now. Perhaps it's time to invest in some bigger beds? All things considered, we REALLY liked this hotel and most certainly will stay there again!

Very friendly staff and just a great place to stay

We were told we could check in after 4. I tried to check in after 5:30 and could not get into our room until 6:30. We were very frustrated due to the fact that we were at an event all day. All we wanted to do was relax for 30 minutes before the start of our next event. What was supposed to be a relaxing evening seemed to be a very rushed and not knowing if we were coming or going..

Hotel Mead was a very pleasant place to stay. Well decorated- beautiful. Nice pool and hot tub - also fitness area.Upscale restarant and bar inside hotel. Within walking distance of downtown and a short drive from many other dining and entertainment choices. Hotel staff pleasant and helpful, and service was great.

We were there for deer hunting. I asked for a wake up call at 3am sat. and at 3am sunday. We never got the call. Luckily with all the excitement of the hunt we woke up without the call. When I called for the call on sunday I told them they forgot and couldn't believeit. Yet they did it a 2nd time.

We stayed here because we attended a wedding at Hotel Mead. Food was terrific. Our room was in the same tower at the wedding....quite convenient. The beds were comfortable, and the room was very clean and quiet. Price was reasonable.

We were there for a funeral. It was quiet, the people were nice, the rooms were nice, very clean, and comfortable. We usually stay there when we are in Wisconsin Rapids. It has always been the best.

Always enjoy staying here. My 6 year old granddaughter would like to live here she says. Staff always friendly and make us feel welcome

I grew-up in the Rapids and the Mead Hotel was there then. So when I came for my 45th class reunion, I was hesitant about booking at the Mead. But I was pleasantly surprised by how well maintained the hotel is and it was a very pleasant four day stay. The staff is very cordial and the bar tender was the only one in Rapids that could make a Pina Colada with a dash of Bailey's Irish Cream for my wife.

Only one night but pleasant. Room airconditioning wasn't cooling well, we told staff and they immediatly gave us another room close by, which was cooling well. Room was quiet and comfortable.

Overall it was a great experience. Refrigerator in the room had a very loud hum to it. Once that was unplugged it was great!

I'm very familiar with the Hotel Mead because I used to live in Wisconsin Rapids. The hotel's employees are very courteous, and the hotel is quiet and well-maintained. The decor and TVs are a bit dated at this point, but everything is in good condition and clean.

T he Hotel Mead made it easy to get around town. Close to the river-walks.

I am from Rapids and when a group of old friends and classmates wanted to get together, the Mead was the first choice. It's nice, and the location is perfect. We ended up dining in Cafe Milano - free salad and bread - which was very good and resonably priced. We met 25 plus people in the hotel bar which was also very nice and spacious. The bar tender was very good. Wanted to swim - just did not find the time.

We have stayed at the Mead many times and have always had a good stay. Pool could use a little TLC but other than that we had a great stay!

For being so expensive I was hoping the tv in the room wasn't so old...couldn't connect a ps3 to it.

It was where the action of the Betty Boop Festival took place. All the staff members were friendly. Room was nice, clean and accessible. Food was good. Festival was lots of fun.

The hotel is well maintained and the staff is very friendly. There are two restaurants, a grill and a small Italian bistro. The food was better than expected. The room was comfortable, however, one of the coffee cups was dirty and had to be replaced. It would have been nice if the check-in went smoothly; unfortunately, the front desk agent gave me information that I shouldn't have gotten regarding the rate. Also, shirts that are not tucked in to uniforms give a very unprofessional appearance out of keeping with the state of the hotel.

The hotel was very hard to find and the amentiteis were quite dated.

It's a nice hotel a block from the river. Only issue was the OLD beds that sway and tip anytime you roll over! (no I'm not a 200 lb fatty) Very nice pool area & reasonable if limited breakfast buffet for $8.50, all bevs included. If not for beds, I'd give it 4 out of 5.

For the best hotel in town, as we were told, it could use some updating and style. But, all in all, we were satisfied. What was ESPECIALLY nice was this: When we got our room, we had to walk all the way down to the far end of the building. My husband has a breathing problem. One of the employees, perhaps a manager, saw us and arranged to have us switched to a more convenient room; it took some effort, too, because the hotel was completely booked due to a wedding. I'd stay there again.
