Royal South Beach Hotel - מיאמי ביץ'

ok for max. 3 nights..

South Beach is popular and expensive, so I expected to pay inflated room rates and not get what I paid for. This was the case here, but it's not to say that this is a bad property. It is equivalent in quality to your standard Days Inn room. Our ACs (had a two bedroom room, so two separate ACs) hardly did the job and windows didn't open, so the rooms got hot. We stayed in February, so not a big issue, but I feel summer could be torture. The location is great - a couple blocks from the beach, so you don't the noise of Ocean, but you get the proximity to it. The sun deck is only good to use up to noon, and then it is shadowed. The staff is very friendly and helpful, just don't expect the Ritz when you walk in.

The hotel left much to be desired. Although it was in a relatively convenient location, it did not justify the price. The room's walls and windows were extremely thin which made it impossible to sleep. There was little water pressure and equally not existent hot water. The toilet was easily clogged and the furniture a little too minimalist artsy for the price. Additionally, there supposed valet parking took too long to appear and even longer to retrieve the car.

room was reasonably clean but the appliances badly needed replacement. On the second day of our stay I couldn't open the room safe anymore. The girl at the reception unlocked it and commented that "this happens all the time". I later found my wife's (inexpensive) jewelry to be missing from the safe. Not recommended!

They told us the hotel was on the beach and it was not, the clerks were rude, the hotel is over priced but the area is kind of cool

ended up liking the entry on pennsylvia not on washington calmer feeling. the walk to the beach was nice passed great shops and restaurants.

We were moved to another hotel without being asked. This new hotel was far from the location we wanted to stay in.

Nice staff. Loud area. Older rooms with wall units. Thin walls. Great location. No pool. Small.

Good location....simple hotel. Nothing to fancy about it. Don't think I would stay there again.

Unfortunately, not a good experience. I wanted a hotel in South Beach and this hotel was in a perfect location, but the room was not nice, loud, inefficient AC, outlets that didn't work and horrible decor.. It is an old hotel, and the plastic furniture in the room (art nouveau??) was too big for such a small room. The desk clerk was very nice and accommodating, but we didn't want to be in the room. I would not recommend it.

THe Hotel at first i thought was a little run down, You have to enter by the back of it as the original hotel doesnt exist anymore. Which is a real shame, as in its past it would have been a lovely Art Deco building.As time has gone tney have had to sell some rooms of as condo's, so they made the entrance on Pennsylvania ave.They were laying new carpet whilst we were there .which the staff were very apologetic about.That was no problem. It was very clean and they changed our beds and towels every day even if they were not used.It was in prime location.They even gave us towels and a sun chair for the beach. For the money it was fabulous. If you want to spend alot of time in your hotel, then maybe its not for you , but we used all the facilities and met some nice people.I would strongly recommend this hotel. not fancy but clean

One night only. Staff on reception a little one dimensional and lacking warmth but efficient & helpful. Room clean and equipped as one would expect for this price range. Just out of main tourist area so quiet yet accessible.

I did like the hotel and it was an awesome location, but when I purchased it, it said suite and it was not what I thought I was paying for. Hotel.com had wrong hotel description and it cost me money.

My first impression was Mel, who worked the front desk when I called to confirm my check-in time. She could not have been any more pleasant and accommodating and put me in a great room. I liked that this was a small boutique hotel without all the bells and whistles, which made for a nice and simple visit at a great price. The location was excellent, as it was a five-minute walk to the beach. Unless I stay with friends who live on the beach, I will most likely be coming back to this hotel.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The staff was friendly and there is a Subway in the building. The parking is in a garage one block away that is convenient although expensive, in my opinion.

I like the smiling service that greets you when you enter the lobby. The cool lemon water that is available when you enter. The location is excellent. 2 blocks from the beach on Ocean Drive plus less than one block away is the local 25 cent bus at 8th and Washington that takes you to Lincoln Road and all around South Beach. The room was white and clean. There is a fridge, microwave, and a safe that can hold a laptop. The hotel is quiet and in a good area. On 9th street and Washington, there is a 7-11, and there are so many great eating places on Washington of all price ranges from Japanese, to Latin, to Italian to vegetarian salads. This hotel was wonderful for my nine-day stay, very convenient, clean and comfortable. I will certainly return.

Very quaint. Good affordable Location for beach. $27 hotel valet parking or parking deck down the street. $15.

Pictures on web had better lighting then the real thing. Rooms were clean but definitely older. Jacuzzi looked more like a bath tub- very small. Free computer internet in the lobby was helpful but would have preferred wifi in room. Good restaurant suggestions at desk. Soap in the bathroom would have been nice. Good deal for the area.

Extra for parking, the hotel is old, and there is a ton of noise from downstairs at night due to club.

They need to fix the A/C unit coz it's very noisy.

manager was extremely helpful and allowed us to check in very early. they were fantastic

I reserved a 2 bedroom and was put in a one bedroom, the attendant at the front dest during the night time, he was very rude and not helpful.

I was a little afraid when I read the reviews before the trip. The "good": Clean , fairly modern. Liked the fact that the room had a tile floor ( granite or marble ?), rather than carpet. The solarium on the second floor ( with jacuzzi tub) was a plus. I did not hear ( or see) the night club reported in previous reviews (out of business?). Fairly closed to the beach and restaurants. The "Bad": $27/per night for valet parking, but the desk clerk did point us to the public parking garage around the corner for $20/night. The neighorhood is noisy ( but that's South Beach baby !) Would not recommend this location for a family. Summary: Good value for basic accomodations, given that fact that it's in the South Beach neighborhood (very "urban").

Excellent hotel and the price is really good. I have tried a lot of hotels in Miami, and that's the best considering the price. Really comfortable.

The reviews I had read about this hotel scared me a little bit but when we arrived it was nothing like I expected. The room was beautiful and everything was very clean. As a matter of fact, this was one of the cleanest rooms and bathrooms I have stayed in, in a while!!! Location is PERFECT! It's THE place to stay in South Beach if you want something convenient and CHEAP!

Very fair price for a convenient hotel room within easy walk of Miami Boat Show at Convention center.

She was so friendly and helpful. She was just a pleasure to talk to. She helped us find a near by resturant and call us our taxi when we left. She made the stay at the hotel the best!

Convenient to everything, a little noisy in the late night outside window but room and hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff was very nice and helpful with all questions.

From the great service, and awesome location not to far from the shops and beach, Royal Hotel made my 2nd wedding anniversary something to remember, I will surely book another vacation with them soon again.

this place was cute. it is no five star hotel, but does not claim to be. everything was clean, just needed some updates. if you can get a good deal for it, i would stay there, if not perhaps somewhere else. however, there are a lot of these "less expensive" south beach hotels and they are all a bit run down, so i consider this i pretty great choice and really enjoyed my stay.

The thing I like the most was the cleanliness of the bed and that the people in the front desk was really kind to me and my sister. I´ll be back soon!!!!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The beach was close by, and so were the clubs and restaurants. I would stay here again if I ever get to go back down that side. The outside did not look very inviting, but the inside made up for it all.

Whilst centrally located the hotel is posiitoned above a night club which pumps out music until 4.45am - exactly! Windows are not doubleglazed so every noise keeps you awake at night. The accommodation I would descibe as an overpriced backpackers hostel. Clean but very basic rooms. We spent 2 sleepless nights there before deciding to move hotels. The staff were very friendly although we were kept waiting for half an hour for our room even though we arrived at 5pm.

We stayed two nights, and it was two nights too many. The first night we stayed in a room that had no curtains at the window,bars on the window and the blinds bent. Tiny TV, safe not working. The second day we changed rooms and this room was better. Did not feel real safe on the block of this hotel. There was a shelter or some kind of a facility for homeless men very close to the hotel.

walking distance to the beach and clean and comfortable!...if you just need a place that's nice enough to sleep in between going out and the beach then its perfect! if your looking for fancy amenities and high price decor than no i wouldn't recommend this place. i wasn't planning on being in the room, so it was great!
