If you're looking for elegance Then you probably wouldn't want to go here. But if you"re looking for a bit of paradise this is the place you want to be. Make sure you leave enough time every day to sit by the pool and relax

Greenhouse Inn won't be for everybody but we found it a perfect end to a vacation - an opportunity to relax and recharge before going home. Only drawback - the hot water for the shower isn't great.

Our stay was wonderful. Superb location, outstanding support from Jesse and Frank. The pool and clothing optional spa were wonderful.

Jesse and Frank were wonderful hosts. This 8 room B&B was very nicely decorated, maintained, and friendly. Location is very short walk to the WW2 museum, and long walk to Superdome, French Quarter and Magazine Street boutiques. The gardens around the small private pool and hot tub area was very nice, but weather was too cool to take advantage of, and it has "European Attitude" if you should opt for topless sunbathing around the pool. We would like to come back to stay here on our next trip to New Orleans.

Super clean hotel with excellent service. Unfortunatelly, not very well located. Breafast wasn't very good.

My partner, two miniature poodles and I spent seven nights in the Green House Inn. What an excellent experience. Upon arriving, we discovered that our initial room, the Hibiscus Room, was too small. While it would be ideal for a single person or two, it just didn't cut it for two plus two pups. Jessie the Innkeeper, immediately set out to make sure our stay was comfortable. He put us in the third-floor suite, a fabulous 2 room space for several days no additional cost. Then, put us in the Orchid Room, the biggest room in the Inn even though he was installing new windows and we kept the Hibiscus Room as well. The Inn itself is a great house with a fabulous pool and deck area surrounded by a tropical garden and a macaw named Rio. To cool go swimming, we sat around the pool and enjoyed other guests. Jessie was quick to offer suggestions for dinner and places to see often going on his computer and looking up menus and locations for us. He struck the right balance of being there when you need him but not being intrusive. The breakfasts are nothing special, however, I enjoyed waking up to the smell of waffles wafting up the staircase as much as devouring one. There are several small breakfast restaurants within a couple of blocks for those that need a more traditional breakfast. For those traveling with pets, there is Coliseum Square, a lovely park, just a couple of blocks away. I strongly recommend this Inn and am looking forward to our next visit at the Green House Inn.

This was our first time at a B&B and we could not have been more pleased. The Green House Inn is in a quiet area of town but close to the street car ,the hop onhop off, and restarants. The inn it's self is over 160+ years old and very nice inside, the owner and assistant manager were extremely nice and helpful. We will stay at the Green House Inn again the next time we are in New Orleans. This is a great place to stay...

My wife and I could not be more pleased with our stay at the Green House Inn. Wonderful location on Magazine Street. Great house kept in excellent repair by it's owner and host. Close to the Warehouse District, shopping on Magazine Street and the French Quarter. Great fun and a wonderful taste of true New Orleans hospitality. We are already planning our next trip back!

When staying in a chain hotel, you may not even realize what city you are in. This was a pleasant experience.

The Green House will definitely have a return patron with me! Frank and Jesse are fantastic and were able to meet any and all needs during my stay. Easy to navigate the city from the location and they have much appreciated off street parking available!! I can't wait to return, the monsoons are calling already- Tell Rio I said Hello!

We were concerned when we first booked since we were right on the pool, but we had no noise problems. We had no problems at all. Marvelous hosts!

First of all... Jesse, Frank, and Alex were all wonderfully welcoming and tramendoulsy helpful. If you are looking for a relaxing place to recharge after a long day of wandering or a late night escapade, this is the place for you. We arrived with no plans and were greeted with many suggestions of places to eat, drink and explore. We had great conversation over breakfast and our late night hot tub was the best way to end our long day. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Overall it was a very nice B&B. The pool was a pleasant surprise and with the salt water. the ambiance around the pool reminded me of a resort that we go to in Cancun. It was very lush. Beautifully landscaped. The Rio parakeet was lovely and the spa music surrounding the area reminded of this other hotel. Morning coffee was great as were the fluffy waffles. Really couldn't ask for anything more out of a B&B. If you have knee issues make sure to get a main floor room. Hospitality was over and above. Would definitely go back there.

My husband and I stayed here while I traveled to NOLA for business. The Green House Inn is adorable, comfortable, and has a beautiful pool and garden that are completely hidden away from the busy road! We had a great stay, and even though the neighborhood seemed a little industrial, we walked almost everywhere and never had any problems. About a 25 minute walk from the French Quarter or a $10 cab ride. We would stay here again--very friendly service, clean rooms, comfortable bed.

Nice hotel, about 1 mile from the French Quarter, not a bad walk if the weather cooperates, dreadful in the scorching heat or pouring rain. Dogs are allowed in the hotel, great for my 2 yr old who loves animals, not so good if you're allergic. Big deal was the "clothing optional" pool. I booked here so my toddler could play in the pool, but enough adults took advantage of the option and I didn't want to answer questions to my toddler, even worse for an older child. Otherwise, lovely B&B, staff was SUPER friendly and helpful!

The pool and gardens were wonderful! We loved it.

When I walked in, the innkeeper said to treat their home like it was my own. This was the atmosphere the whole week. The house is old and has character, but it is clean and well-maintained. I didn't have an opportunity to use the salt-water pool in the garden, but it is in a beautiful surrounding. Warm cookies in the evening were a great touch. This trip I was solo, but I wouldn't hesitate to bring my wife the next time. Don't hesitate to visit this charming property amid New Orleans' garden district.

A welcoming friendly guest house that is clean and well located. Light breakfasts are provided as well as a waffle maker. The pool area is a relaxing place, just be advised that some guests prefer to bare all in the "European" themed tropical garden. The Inn is a pleasant place to stay and is well located and serviced by good transport links. Frank and Jesse are great hosts and very helpful, as is Alex and his restaurant knowledge.

Older house, but very clean and well maintained. The floors are creaky, but that's what makes the character of the place. The back yard is an oasis of greenery with the trickling of the water falls cascading into the pool. Salt water to bout. No stinky clorine! Lots of places to sit and relax in the sun or shade. The bed was very comfortable and the place was very quiet. Frank and Jesse were very friendly and informative. My husband is not a great traveller and he loved it and wants to go back! We are thinking pre and post cruise next time:) This was our first time staying at a B & B. Will do it again!

Friendly, helpful innkeeper. Comfortable, clean room. Charming, well maintained old building. Great place to stay. Would stay there again.

We really enjoyed staying here for our weekend in NOLA. Could walk from hotel throughout the Garden District, although I wouldn't recommend walking at night. That end of Magazine Street is a little sketchy, but it was fine taking a quick taxi. We did walk over to St. Charles Street during the day to catch the street car, and rode it over to the Quarter. The B&B itself was very clean and so super cute. We loved the pool area and all the tropical plants. The rate was the same as other hotels in the area. Will definitely stay here again!

Amazing service and QUALITY that goes above and beyond any means of mortal measurement ! - Its a rare treat when I cannot think of anything but ALL positive things to say in these reviews. Let me first state that I travel very frequently for my work and pleasure. I have personally been to 61 countries and spend at least 150 nights each year at hotels . Over the last 22 years I have had a lot of past experiences to base my opinion on here . This small ,quiet hotel is possibly New Orleans Best kept secret in regards to lodging. Literally everything was PERFECT. The rooms are SPOTLESS and cleaned daily with plenty attention given to all those little details that make a hotel stay so special and memorable . It was nice to have a refrigerator in my Bougainville room where I stayed. I enjoyed my stay so much that I booked a extra 2 nights beyond what my original reservation was for. The GreenHouse Inn seemed more like a intimate bed and breakfast club than any common hotel chain I have ever stayed in. There is a dining room with a baby grand piano that serves as a common area which was always stacked with fresh baked goodies,chocolates and 24 hour continental breakfast available in a "help your self" mini kitchen. (fresh baked home made chocolate chip cookies )Local menus and delivery menus , the morning news papers was also laid out for guest convenience and the staff was alway willing to bend over backward to assist. The bed was so comfortable I never wanted to get out of it except to make my way to the clothing optional pool and Hot tub . The back patio-pool area seemed like a secret garden with large palm trees and vines surrounding the pool / hot tub area. I was amused by the fact that you would never know any of this existed when walking by the front of this small 10 room establishment. The Green House Inn to me, was like a secure,safe,quiet and very relaxing oasis from all the hectic dramas that occur each day beyond its gate . - This said; the hotel is within

Lovely B&B in very convenient neighborhood; friendly people. House is old (1840s) and may look a little shabby in parts but is lovely and clean. Very comfortable rooms with soft linens and towels. Beautiful landscaping and small outdoor salt water pool surrounded by greenery and comfortable seating. Walking distance to French Quarter; 2 blocks away from St. Charles trolley. Breakfast is nothing to write home about (coffee, tea, cereal) but adequate and full breakfast places are nearby. Will definitely return. Highly recommend.

This B&B has very comfortable accomodations. The furniture isn't brand new, but nice, clean(no funky hotel smell here), great inn keepers, amazing salt water pool/spa with lush tropical garden. I stayed in 100 degree weather but the pool was great mid day - you don't bake under the palms and banana plants. Bfast was cold itmes (cereals, croisant, fruit, yogurt) and help yourself. Water cooler there anytime you need a drink. I will only stay here when I go to NOLA. Jesse and Frank will tell you the best places to see and eat and know the city well. 3 blocks from the street car and walking distance to WWII museum. Parking also available. Bed was very comfortable with fridge in room. PUblilc computer/printer available. i checked out and they held my bag and let me hang poolside until my evening flight out. You can't ask for a better place.

Off beat and entirely pleasant Welcoming and gracious owner who was most helpful as to local knowledge and what to do and what to avoid. The pool was perfect and it's setting was charming. This is a solid no frills b and b for adults.

Was a fun place to stay! It was a short walk to street car. Parking was provided in a small lot :) The room and bathroom had plenty of space with large windows that overlooked the tropical pool area. The pool/hot tub were great. My husband would have liked just a little more or different breakfast options. We loved the hosts and the stay! We will plan on staying again!

This hotel is fantastic! Its close to everything, but not loud... has an amazing staff, pool, and general feel about it. We had such a relaxing time, that we have already reccomended this hotel to our friends. I cant stress enough how great the pool was. It was salt water, and surrounded by tropical trees and plants. It felt miles away fro. The city, but it wasn't. Stay here, you won't be let down!

Green House Inn was exactly what I was looking for during a week-long trip with my girlfriend to New Orleans. Being from NYC we don't mind walking so the 15 minutes it takes to reach the French Quarter by foot was great! And if we felt lazy, the St. Charles Street trolley is only 3 blocks away and takes you right to the FQ also! The Garden District is about the same travel time in the opposite direction either by foot or by trolley, so for us, Green House had the perfect location. Jesse and Frank did a great job of making us feel at home during our first trip to NOLA. Right off the bat, they told us where to go and what to do, both inside and outside the FQ. They told us some fascinating stories about their Katrina experiences too. They really know they city and love it just like you will by the time you leave. The Inn has a great backyard with an in-ground pool and very tropical landscaping that create some nooks and crannies to relax in. Plenty of free items for breakfast, easy check-in/out, and a comfortable bed, towel and room made this place feel better than home. The neighborhood isn't anything to write home about, but it's plenty safe and plenty close to everything you'll want to see in NOLA. You'll have a great time at the Green House Inn!

Stayed at the Green House Inn before a friend and I went on a cruise, the Inn is very charming and the staff is very friendly and helpful! It's not right on Bourbon Street but you can just hop on the trolley a couple of blocks away and ride there. If you happen to be going on a cruise, the Pier is only 7 blocks away and parking at the pier was easy and convenient. We enjoyed our stay so much we stayed there one more night after we got off the cruise! Loved The Green House Inn and won't stay anywhere else next stay in New Orleans. Highly recommend!!!

This hotel is the best! I have never felt more welcomed at any other hotel. VERY friendly! If you like being treated like family then is the place for you. If you want the real feel of being in New Orleans, then this is the place for you! Build is old but thats what made it feel so real!

This privately owned guest-house is a very pleasant change from staying in a stereotype hotel chain. The Green House Inn is a lovingly restored 1840s bourgeois house with delightful garden and pool. It is conveniently situated between the Garden District and the Warehouse District. A little over ten minutes is needed to walk to the Morial Convention Center though a little ingenuity is required to figure out how to negotiate the roads under the Pontchartrain Expressway. Canal Street can be reached by foot in 15 minutes if you walk briskly. The very friendly hosts are happy to educate you about the history of New Orleans.

Excellent place to stay. Convenient and just like being at home. Frank and Jesse are awesome .

I had a very enjoyable stay. Frank and Jesse were great hosts. They were available for advice and questions. The inn had a great backyard with pool, hot tub, lounge chairs. I felt that I was in the Carribean! Do it yourself breakfast was convenient and adequate. The inn is on the edge of the Garden District. It did seem a bit sketchy late at night but you can take a bus from the French Quarter that drops you a block from the Inn. My room was large and comfortable. I would highly recommend the Greenhouse Inn.

Supernice hotel with the best pool! Great inn-owner and personal, very friendly atmosphere and located on magazine street which is a cool street with second hand shops and cafés. the only problem is that it is a bit far from Frenchmen street, which is were you want to be for the music at night. takes maybe 20-30 minutes to walk. we def. recommend this hotel, the courtyard is heaven!

Excellent séjour dans cette très charmante maison de style colonial au milieu d'une mini-forêt tropicale, dans un très chouette quartier de la Nouvelle Orléans (Green district). Chambre spacieuse, confortable, mais surtout plein de charme et beaucoup de petites attentions charmantes, et un accueil très sympathique du gérant. Piscine extrêmement agréable (surtout l'été) et jacuzzi ; bon, certains choisissent de ne pas mettre de maillot de bain (car c'est optionnel), mais pas de quoi gâcher le plaisir quand on est cool et ouvert d'esprit. Un rapport qualité/prix/charme très très intéressant selon moi.
