Great hotel, great service, great location for weekend series at PNC Park....will do again....

Did the Pittsburgh Marathon. It was very convenient to the start and finish lines. The Staff were cordial and congratulatory. I liked the convenience of the downtown Pittsburgh area being right outside the door. Overall it is a little pricey for a room with no refrigerator . The bed was very comfortable but the TV remote did not function correctly. Outside hallways need more lighting. Overall I will stay here again based upon the location and the ease of getting around Pittsburgh.

Very enjoyable stay. Hotel staff was very attentive. Nice big room. Very clean. Great potato chips in the bar.. would definately stay again.

Even though the room was fairly small, and the view was a vent/heating unit on the building next door, it was an easy walk to the Convention Center (which is why I picked it), and it's a beautifully restored "old" hotel. I would have preferred smaller portions with room service (what a waste), I didn't notice any recycling for newspapers, bottles, etc, and the bed was not even close to being a "King Size". I am only 5 foot 6 inches tall, my feet shouldn't have been on the edge of the bed....and they were.

Shower was bad

The Renaissance is a great historic facility which is upgraded to all modern business amenities. The location and views are fantastic and although it does not include integrated parking, a 6 story garage is directly across the street on 6th avenue. Staff was attentive and friendly (genuinely). I look forward to future visits. The Renaissance is my hotel of choice in downtown Pittsburgh.

Beautiful hotel with great architectural details in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. Great city or river views. Old world charm captured perfectly. Clean, updated rooms. Very happy to return there.

We stayed over for Light Up Night. The hotel did their best to give us a river view room. Very courteous

We walked around the corner to the theater. Choice of five theaters in the Cultural District. Hotel is on the river. Must see the Strip district on the weekends. The hotel has recently been renovated while retaining the touches of yesterday.

Hotels.com did not provide an opportunity for me to use my AAA discount

I loved everything about my stay besides I was supposed to get a city view and got a view facing a building.

Went to a Pirate game, which was a beautiful walk across the bridge. The check-in staff was friendly, room was really large and had a super comfy bed. Bathroom was large as well and very clean. Will definitely stay here again!!

I requested a king size bed and they gave me two doubles in a handicapped room - which was not what I wanted.

Nice hotel. Had stayed there previously. Noticeable lax and attitude from several employees which was disappointing.

Bathroom was excellent & overall very clean. Loved the shower. Room was very nice but a little small. Would stay again.

The outside view and architecture of the hotel is alluring. Upon entering the lobby I was very impressed with the decor and architecture as well as the staff. The first room I was given had double beds and the view consisted of the other side of the hotel and archway (I paid for a king/queen with a city view.) Once the situation was rectified the city view was spectacular and the bed was very comfortable. The room itself however can be commonly found in any hotel for a much cheaper price.

After driving in to Pittsburgh for 4 hours, we were met by a very friendly and polite valet, but the front desk person Erin, was quite rude and overall very unpleasent to deal with. For the remainder of our stay we did encounter a host of other staff who were very nice. The only problem was upon leaving the original valet who parked our car didnt remove the key correctly which ended up draining our car battery. The new valet was very unapologetic and tried to say that we were out of gas!!!! Upon further review another super staff person showed up and offered her own car (I didnt get her name unfortunately) to give us a jump. The location of this hotel is pheonom!!! The ambieance is incredible. If the service was more consistant this would be the perfect home away from home.

Booked for our 25th wedding aniversary for a king size city view room and got wht my husband termed "a janitors closet" with no view. Inquiring at the front desk they told us our booking included a room preference, not a guaranty.

This is a great hotel in a wonderful location. The architecture is interesting and the service is impeccable. Definitely a great choice!

Everything is perfect at the hotel. Good restaurants and bar, great location and a great staff. I will definitely stay here again.

In town for a PNC Park visit, this hotel is just across the bridge from the game. Walk to the park in 5 minutes across the Clemente Bridge, which is closed to traffic several hours before the game. Our room was spacious, with a view of the park. Check in was a breeze, we booked through hotels.com. Parking was also quick and convenient with in and out privileges. We would definitely stay again. Plenty of nice restaurants within walking distance, Pittsburgh is a beautiful city and the Renaissance is a great location for visiting the whole city. There is a great bar just off the lobby and a wonderful restaurant inside the hotel with a great Sunday brunch.

Great. Location was convenient, breakfast was excellent, staff was friendly and ease to PNC Park was awesome along with having the Strip District just down the road for our Saturday Morning excursion.

More than I wanted to spend for a night, but it was so convenient to our event. The room was very tiny. The bed was very comfortable, but too soft if you have a bad back(found that out). Was supposed to have a robe to use, did not. Enjoyed walking around PNC Park and the river before our concert. We did enjoy our stay in Pittsburgh.

Really nice hotel. Staff communication needs improving. The hotel operator does not always pass on your car request to the valet (and will not connect you directly). Came back at 6:00PM to a room that hadn't been serviced. How is that happening in a four-star hotel? BUT--the rooms are nice, if a bit small, and the river views and location are tough to beat.

Oh - where do I begin....? I have stayed at another Renaissance Hotel - in Portsmouth VA - and is the level of hotel I expected. I was very disappointed! This was a birthday trip for my mother from myself, brother, sister & niece. We wanted the stay to be special and chose the Renaissance for that reason. The building is historical but is very frayed around the edges. Not kept up well, the "grand" staircase in the photo online is not all that grand! I did not find the staff helpful, amenities (soap, towels,etc.) not very plentiful, hotel decor is very tired and sad, our room had old, mismatched furniture. The reservation was for 2 adults, but only one robe was provided (again .. stingie). While looking for the ice machine, I opened a door to the stairway - there was a toilet brush was laying in the floor! We parked across the street in a parking garage and when we crossed the street and walked toward the front door of the hotel, the porter standing on the sidewalk made no effort to greet us or assist us with our bags. The only good things I can say about this hotel is the bed was extremely comfortable, most of the time there were employees that held the door open for us, and it was very convenient to Heintz Hall. Not at all worth the price!! I usually stay at Hampton Inns and will do so in the future - if we had stayed at one in downtown Pittsburgh, at least we would have gotten breakfast included with our stay!!

The hotel is beautiful as we got in late there was no bellman around 12pm. The 1st night our room was a bit noisy from the fan outside the window. The 2nd night was great with a great view of the river and stadiums in Pitts. Beautiful lobby with the service is great when I need something the staff was very helpful.

We were slitly disappointed in the hotel. The location was excellent. We thought we were getting a king but had one queen bed.

This hotel was nice, in a great location. We could easily walk around downtown and the north shore. The only two things that weren't perfect was that the room was a little smaller than expected and the staff was somewhat noisy when cleaning other rooms nearby. I would definitely recommend it, and would stay again.

The stay at the hotel was great. The location was right across the river from the ballpark and located within walking distance of lots of things to do and see. My wife and and ate in the hotel restaurant, drank in the bar and used room service and each one was great. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be returning to Pittsburgh AND he Renaissance Hotel.

A beautiful building right downtown. My wife and I enjoyed the hotel's atmosphere. Had a great time. We will definitely be back again.

The hotel itself was clean, well decorated and friendly staff. I don't know if I was staying on a floor with inconsiderate people or if the hotel is poorly designed but the opening and closing of doors was extremely loud...doors slamming all hours of the night. I also booked a "city view" room and ended up staring into other hotel rooms... I was there for less than 24 hours for work so it didn't matter to me but something to note if it's important to you.
