Excellent, friendly service. Simple, but attractive modern rooms.

Best place to stay in this area. Nice set-up, good bathrooms and love the outdoor pool!

The place is cool...as in different. It does not, however, have the luxury feel to it that the price suggests. Overall, a very good experience, though North Adams is not exactly the hub of activity.

Over priced Inn. No full breakfast, but a cold buffet; broken telephone in the room; had to request blankets three times. Definitely inferior to other inns we have stayed in. Would not recommend it.

The Porches did a lot with a small space including a pool, fitness center and small hiking path to a gazebo. Very creative,comfortable space.

Lovely spot, but very far from Tanglewoiod.

We booked the night because we were attending an opening at the Festival nearby. The front desk was a hurried perfunctory greeting. We were told to move our car to another parking lot because it was much closer to our accommodations. We did. Our first encounter with staff was as we walked by the picnic table where the staff were smoking on their break. If there is any constant at all at the place, is that the staff--which for some reason seems to consist only of early twenties women, with hard, grim faces, who never so much as smile, look up, or attempt to do anything to help the customer, whether they are on their break or not. They all watched as we struggled with our bags. Turning back around to return to their chain smoking. When we asked for confirmation of where we were staying one of us indicated that it was this particular building. It turned out not to be. When we finally found our building, it turned out to be quite close to our original parking spot, and not at all near the one we had been directed to. There is not enough parking. I don't mean that as there is not much. Literally there is not enough parking for guests. We were forced to use a handicapped parking spot. . The garbage in the hallway would almost be comical. It sat there as the grim girls walked by ignoring it for a very long time. Cups left on the table would remain there from the early afternoon to the next morning. All in all a sad disappointment.

Room was pleasant and comfortable. Staff was congenial and helpful. If in the area, I'd stay here again.

I had heard that the Porches was a great place to stay and I was not disappointed. It is directly across the street from Mass MOCA and only 8 miles from Williams-town. It has a spare mid-20th century decor which was a welcome change from the usual hotel decor. Breakfast the next morning was delicious with boiled eggs, really good bread to make toast, chocolate croissants and a nice selection of fruits and cereals. We had very good meals at the Hub and the Grammercy Tavern too, both a very short distance away. I hope to stay there again someday.

Once we were transported to the cottages of our youth, we found the Porches to be an excellent choice. Our room was delightfully comfortable and oh so clean. The hotel staff were so helpful and the continental breakfast delicious! I would recommend this to anyone staying up in the Berkshires.

This is a lovely hotel -- very funky and unusual. Kind of hard to find at night in the dark, but worth the effort.
