Small rooms but clean. Good value and location. Tricky to find from Plymouth Road because poor signage.

Close to North campus. Nice clean & comfortable room without a nice big price! Little sign into entrance of hotel so if you're coming in at night/dark you may miss entrance - look for the Holiday Inn sign - its the same entrance.

For $70/night tac included this is a great bargain. The hotel is clean, and updated. Free wifi, breakfast. Everything works, plenty of parking included. I enjoyed access to the anytime gym for exercising but beware it is a 5 min drive away (I walked, 10-15 min each way, a few times). So I am very pleased and will come back when I visit Ann Arbor again. Just to make sure you understand me, this is a no thrills hotels. The rooms are small, the breakfast is cold (cereal/milk, juice, bread, coffee), not 20 channels on the TV. The minimum you need for a comfortable stay.

Our non-smoking room was really comfortable - well-furnished and clean, and classy.

Great, clean little suites hotel, very conveniently located right off the highway and close to Univ of Michigan's North Campus. Best value we have found in the area after 5 years of coming to Ann Arbor. Would definitely stay there again in the future. It's nice to have the separate 'suite' portion of the room, for even less cost than other nearby budget hotels charge for a standard room.

A fine hotel, I needed a quick stop on the highway due to I climate weather and this was convenient and inexpensive. Front desk was nice and the room was clean but you could literally Everything going on in surrounding rooms as if they were there. Horrible nights sleep.

It is a good place to stay if you temporarily visit Univ. of Michigan or study at Univ. of Michigan without a house yet. It is close to grocery and restaurant. It is not far away from campus. The only disadvantage is that the WiFi is way too slow.

Worked well as a place to sleep after a full day. Clean and comfortable; good service. Good value.

Poor wifi. You can hear everything from next door rooms. Decent free breakfast.

Overall not bad, the room was smaller than expected, but standard and decent value

A safe comfortable, and convenient place to stay while my husband had heart surgery at the area V.A. Hospital. I did find that I could not get the hospital patient rate unless I had called the motel directly, which I did the next time and it was much cheaper. Very friendly staff. As a woman alone, I felt safe staying there and the drive to restaurants and the hospital was very convenient. The room was clean and much more comfortable than another close-by hotel. Only one minor complaint: it was very windy and the vent on the roof was noisy. It kept banging in the bathroom vent with every gust of wind. I just closed the bathroom door and it was okay. Next time I will not stay on the top floor.

Since I was there on a family emergency, I needed something close, clean and economical. Microtel is all of that. It was my first experience with them and I rapidly joined the club to earn rewards. I will return!

it was fine. extremely close to university of michigan with free shuttle service to the school. their breakfast was lacking though... just a few pastries, cereal, and bagel. and no vending machines for snacks?? only 1 ice cream and 1 drinks machine. and they had NO airport shuttle service, another minus. but otherwise, a clean, well maintained place.

The staff was very friendly. The hotel and rooms were very clean. Overall this was a great experience. I would recommend it to anyone.

Surperb

We frequently stay at this hotel (usually one weekend per month) when we visit our son attending UM. We like the price, location, room selection options, bed comfort, and helpful desk staff. The housekeeping is average, sometimes noisy with a vacuum hitting the wall repeatedly in the next room. The breakfast provided certainly isn't fancy, but that's okay with us. Coffee and tea is all we need at the hotel. We always start our Ann Arbor weekend hotel search at the Microtel on Plymouth Avenue.

Everything was wonderful about this hotel except the breakfast. Not much to choose from and the breakfast room was not cleaned up!

Room was small but, all you needed. Nothing fancy which matched the price of the room.

Paid $70 for a saturday night thought it would be a bit nicer. Just pay less and go to Red Roof Inn. Wouldn't stay again.

Plus side Free Shuutle to anywhere in Ann Arbor area, very nice staff, restaurants with in walking distance, very clean. Minus side close to freeway, although the noise did not bother me. Limited TV stations available. Will stay there again for my next trip to Ann Arbor.

I was pleased with my overall experience here. My room was clean, and the staff were all very friendly. My only withdraws were that the room's heater was a little slow going (granted it was snowing outside!) and the breakfast - though well stocked - would have been better with hot options. However, that being said, It's nice to have an affordable option near the University for educational visits.

The good: comfortable bed (which is super important, of course) - I think it had a pillowtop mattress cover, whatever that is called; cute window ledge lined with a full length cushion- if it hadn't been so cold outside, it would have been a great spot to sit and read; nice staff The bad: there is a shuttle but NOT on the weekends - a taxi to campus is about $12-14; the window was really drafty and the curtains didn't quite block out the cold wind - I just turned up the thermostat and was ok - this place would have been better if it weren't such a cold and windy day during my stay. The average: the breakfast was blah - they had the Special K Berries cereal, which I appreciated, and some fruit, but the bagels were individually wrapped. There is a Coney Island (like a diner) and some fast food joints within a very short walking distance - but again, I was there when it was really cold. Overall, for the value I would recommend this place, especially if you have your own car. It was overall very comfortable, clean, and staff were friendly and helpful.

It wasn't a business or Leisure Trip at all, My Husband was in the hospital for 19 days that I stayed at this hotel but I didn't have a computer in which to go to Hotel. com to re-book my stay so I had to do it in person. Everything was great though.

The hotel was very comfortable, very well located to where I needed to go.

okay place for the price. tiny room. extra charge for microwave and/or refrigerator; didn't get either, nowhere to put them. small crt tv with limited channel selection. temperature very erratic to control; cold aiir seeps through outside wall., stuck on top of clothes closet in the corner. definitely a "micro" hotel. not really suitable for more than one person.

The WiFi did not work very well. My husband had to have them reset the router a couple times. The continental breakfast was very disappointing. Our coffee pot did not brew decent coffee. It came out looking like weak tea. One thing I would change, is that they really need to remove that huge desk chair, and replace with something that fits snug under the counter. The overall stay was decent enough. I would stay there again, if other hotels in the area were not available.

Came in for Parent Weekend at Michigan. Hotel was clean. Room was nice with nice bathroom. It did have an old TV but good stations and free Internet. They even had a free continental breakfast. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful with town dierctions I would stay again.

New hotel with great beds. 24 hour coffee/service. The most incredible water pressure in the shower. It was almost painful. We knew we weren't in California anymore. A little hard to find at night so know where you're going.

Was in Ann Arbor for a wedding. This place was conveniently located twenty minutes to Ann Arbor and farmers market and Zingerman's and University. The weekend night and day front desk all around guy, was EXCELLENT!..GREAT recommendations and very helpful..thanks for pizza delivery flyer, ....the best deep dish Chicago pizza this native new york couple ever ate!!!!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The bed was incredibly comfortable and all the linens in the room and bathroom were like new. The hotel itself seems very new. I had a big window that opened a tad to let fresh air in. The coffee pot in the room was excellent, as was the television. I slept so well. I also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast-- nice fruit and oatmeal, but they had a selection of muffins and cereals too.

This is our 3rd time at Microtel. We visit Ann Arbor once a year and this is one of the places we prefer to stay - clean, love the mini kitchen, easy on the wallet. The other place we like to stay costs much more, so we can spend more nights and see more friends if we stay at Microtel.

Good location off the highway for a quick overnight.
