Great ambiance and comfort in pool and lounge area, room equipped with extras including microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and extra sink in alcove area. A large screen TV was also included. Dogs are welcome and not discriminated against in any areas except pool area.

The stay was just fine but the hotel has different amenities for different situations. Apparently when booking ONLINE, BREAKFAST IS NOT INCLUDED and they want you to eat in their NON-IMPRESSIVE RESTAURANT and charge it to the room/your credit card. This was a real turn-off, it was snowing and we wanted to get on the road early. Also, the rate was not cheap.

This was one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in! Beats out even the more costlier choices - would recommend it. Convenient to downtown also via a number of routes. Would stay there again.

Very clean and in a good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Free breakfast was excellent

Good facilities in the room. Excellent bed. Restaurant needs the refurbishment that is promised. Good reception staff, nice touch to provide cookies and newspapers. Location is on a busy intersection - with lights so once you are used to it it is OK. Hotel security is questionable.

Great Front Desk, Room was clean, tidy and well kept . Bathroom was bright and a 46" flat screen TV on the dresser. Close to the city and restaurants.

I was pleased with the hotel.Nice and clean. The free buffet breakfast at the resturant next door was wonderful!!! Excellent tasting food- a great value with growing and hungry children.

We stayed for 2 nights and will definitely be booking this hotel again. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were very clean,quiet and comfortable.

I just needed a place to stay after an all day event so my time was limited. Staff was nice, breakfast was a step up from the free buffet you normally get but just a small step up. So it was overall ok. Complaints: the elevators are quite a haul from the front desk, down a long hallway. Thankfully I didn't have heavy bags. The worst thing about the place was this overall smell. Stale and slightly.. well.. poopy. The room itself was nice enough but the hotel around it very outdated. And again, the smell was an immediate nose-wrinkler so bring your Febreeze.

Not very close to the airport, difficult to drive. Otherwise, great hotel.

Clean and comfortable Best Western fits the bill for a three generation stay in area. Hotel has a very friendly, safe vibe which is greatly appreciated when staying with kids. My grandchildren had a wonderful time swimming with other kids in pool area. It was surprisingly large, had plenty of towels, chairs and beautiful planters filled with flowers.

Good location. Reasonably clean. Helpful staff. Crowded laundry room. Many families.

My family stays at the Merry Manor every year on our way to our summer house in DownEast Maine. We love the saltwater pool and hot tub they have there. It's so nice to relax in the water at the end of a long day driving. It's easy to get into downtown either driving or by cab to have dinner in one of Portland's many great restaurants. The motel is close to both 95 & 295. There are a couple of good places for breakfast nearby. The rooms are very comfortable. The hotel has a newer section where the rooms are a bit nicer.

The most uncomfortable hotel bed I have slept on in years.

Very enjoyable,would stay there again .Access to sights and shopping very easy.Portland is a pleasant place with lots to offer.Staff at hotel deserve top marks.

The staff were very accommodating and the in-motel restaurant served food for all meals - not the "continental" type that thinks a muffin is breakfast. The hotel was directly across from the access road to the highway and only 5 1/2 miles from where I needed to be.

Room clean,no complaints, staff very friendly. Resturant next to hotel is good and reasonable. Location is close to highway, mall. Old Port, Beach easy to get to. No reason at all to not stay there. Good Price. Decent fitness center,grandkids had enough of sand, nice, clean pool. Don't need fancy, This had everything I needed. Definetly recommend it.

The location was great. I loved the bed and pillows. The room could have used a door sweeper as there was about an inch opening between the floor and the door. As a consequence, all noise from the hallway was clearly audible from inside the room.

I nice find. Friendly staff with great recommednations for dinner. Free breakfast buffet, not some cheap continental breakfast.

No complaints. Good service, very clean, nice pool, good buffet breakfast. The massage chair in the king room was a nice bonus!

Convenient location. Quiet neighborhood. Not too far away from the downtown/pier area, about 10-15 minutes drive. Friendly staff.

Hotel was clean and convienient. Not alot in the area but this is how it is across most VT, ME and NH. There was a massage chair in the room that was fantastic!

It is obvious that the management of this hotel go out of their way to give their guests good value for their dollar. The hotel was clean and well-maintained. I liked the quality of the soaps and shampoos...much better than most 'budget' hotels. The pool was clean and comfortably warm. I'd recommend this place to my friends.

older hotel, but room was clean; stayed for 5 nights; hallways were not cleaned as well as the room -- same debris was there for several days; no breakfast provided; nasty coffee, even in the lobby

This is an older hotel, and it felt a bit stuffy in the room & halls. The bathroom was older but functioned well, even had a sink outside the main bathroom area. The employees were great, very helpful & courteous. I would consider staying here again.

Had work to do, so didn't get to use the fitness room as planned (although a key piece of equipment was broken when I scoped it out...). Pleasantly surprised to find a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator in the room (did not get that impression from reviews I read) - although only Decaf coffee; could not access the hotel WiFi and call to the front desk went unanswered. Breakfast started at 6:30, and I had to be on the road by then. None of those things were overly important to me and did not affect the overall "pretty well satisfied" review I would give the facility. A nice, "nothing too fancy", pleasant place to stay!

we used to stay at the merry manor inn for many years, but haven't been back in the last 5 years. pleasant surprise to find out how updated the rooms are and how much work they're doing to really make the hotel spectacular. first of all, there are actual massage chairs in every room! they finally have lcd tv's and even though we had regular rooms, we also had a microwave and fridge in them. the hotel has bought out the restaurant next door, and while they have a very small menu right now, the food was great. they no longer have a continental at the hotel, but instead give you vouchers for breakfast at the restaurant, which was fantastic. the beds aren't the most comfortable, but they're far from bad. overall i was very happy with our stay and can't wait to go back.
