Pelican Bay Resort at Lucaya - פריפורט

The hotel has a very good breakfast buffet that we took advantage of everyday. Pelican Bay is located right next to Port Lucaya Marketplace which we enjoyed and across the street from the Grand Lucayan Resort. We paid the $15 to use the facilities at the Grand Lucayan with its beach access because it was $10 to rent a beach chair at the public beach, which is not nearly as nice. The staff was very nice at the Pelican Bay Resort, but we had to ask several times for a new light bulb in our bathroom. The livingroom furniture is in very sad shape, but our beds were comfortable. There is a real need for more lighting in the bedroom, and storage space for clothes is lacking. We loved the Sabor Restaurant which is next to one of the pools on the property. We also had a lovely view of the bay from our room.

The original room we had (standard king) was older, had a loud HVAC, old T.V. and numerous other annoyances. We spoke to the manager the next morning and were immediately put into a king suite. Both rooms faced the bay, but the suite had a modern HVAC that was quiet and the upgrades welcome. The staff was friendly and attentive. The hotel's restaurant, Sabor, was excellent. The beach is a short ferry ride through the bay. Access to the bars, restaurants and shops was easy

you pay so much and the service was not good. toilett was not working, light in the room was not working. Location is good but they are not friendly to young people..

Pelican Bay Resort is situated close to the Lucayan Marketplace, the area hub of shopping and eating, and complimented by an adjacent marina for those who want to tour, dive, or snorkel.. Hotel staff are wonderful-- prompt, courteous, and greet you with a smile wherever they see you, only too happy to help. The beach is across the street and just after the Grand Lucayan, but there are nicely maintained pools at the Pelican. The hotel's Sabor Restaurant serves reasonably priced, good food and is a relaxing spot to dine by the water's edge. P.B. is directly across the street from the Grand Lucayan where there are more water sports activities, parasailing, eateries, and a casino. Pelican Bay's exterior is attractive and pretty lighted at night. Our room and another we saw lacked in cleanliness. Bathroom walls and back of the door needed washing/painting, the sink fixtures of the room sink were corroded and rusted .Bedskirts were filthy. The groaning AC was too loud and noisy, so we used the overhead fan. I do not need the Ritz, but furn iture was subpar,like 2nd/3rd hand , and the stained tabletop needed a fresh whitewash. Housecleaning staff cleaned the best they could given the room furnishings.This was my 1st Bahamas trip, so maybe I didn't know what to expect in hotel quality. The hotel was affordable if you can overlook the negatives in light of the positives.

the room was dated and musty-torn curtains and shabby decorations. The beds were uncomfortable and soft.Not worth the money!t

Super resort, all the staff from front desk to the maids were genuinely friendly,polite and very helpful. The pools and grounds are very well maintained as well. The choice at breakfast is great and the coffee excellent ! Only a short walk from the square at Port Lucaya where there are shops,bars and eateries. The Sabor resturant at pelican Bay is amazing,Chef Ziggy, the bar staff and waitresses are all brilliant and there is a happy hour too !!! My second visit in 6 months, and will go back,says it all.

This was my first trip to the Bahamas and it was totally amazing! The people were totally incredible and there was so much to do! I am excited to come again!

This is a wonderful hotel....we stayed 2 nights, went to another destination, and then returned for another night. Our room was a beautiful waterside suite...living room and separate bedroom.....an added extra was the pre-breakfast that was delivered to the "box in your door"! Stanley and Yvette were very helpful and went the extra mile to take good care of us! The on-site restaurant, Sabor was very good.....in fact we ate there 2nights. It is located next door to the Port Lucaya Marketplace and the Straw Market so there is lots to do......Beach is across the street.

Just one nite, in for business but hotel in walking distance to everything, and water taxi to beach, they only have a pool & jacuzzi, would stay there again, all staff were very nice.

This was a very nice hotel. I stayed in a suite which had a view of the marina. Had a small kitchenette, great decor, comfortable bed, very modern, and most importantly, very clean. Close to Port Lucaya and the beach. The only recommendation is for their front desk to be a little bit more cordial. I didn't get a greeting nor "How was your stay"? Overall, I would recommend.

The hotel is old and shows it age. Room lighting is poor and our room is in need of an upgrade. The floors, wood trip, bathroom have experienced a lot of wear. The breakfast buffet was OK but dull. It did not change from day to day. The Lycaya area of Freeport has seen better days. The recession has profoundly impacted the area. Most of the stores and shops are centered on tourists from cruise boats who descend on the area periodically. You do not need more than a day to see the area. It is a good place for diving and other water based activities, weather permitting.

Very nice hotel - rooms decorated nicely. Lovely pools and atmosphere. The hotel clerk even upgraded us to a State Room due to the bad weather we experienced the day before. We would definitely come back to this hotel resort and strongly recommend it.

No hot water. I had breakfast and there was egg shells in the scrambled eggs

The resort looked very nice and our waterside suite on the 3rd floor had a fantastic view over the sea. Even though the suite looked very ok in itself the bedroom was very dusty including the shelfes in the living room. There was also no ventilation in te bathroom wich made it very uncomfortable after showering. The resort is located very close to the marketplace were you can buy everything from jewellery, watches to souvenirs and food. A lot of restaurants n the area but te Shabor restaurant at the Pelican Bay resort can be recommended if you are not to obsessed with first class service. Food is very good here. The complimentary continental breakfast was fantastic and we also receved fresh pastry on the door ever morning at 06.30 am. All in all a nice place but cleanliness and service could be better.

We were very disapointed in our stay . We were not given the room we had booked and they would not move us. The empolyees were not helpful. Iwould never go back to this hotel or the Bahamas ever again

Very nice accomodations and perfect location. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well kept with a little wear and tear but nothing that diminishes the stay. Will stay there again.

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe junger Leute dort. 5 Personen zwischen 18j-29j. Zuerst wollten Sie uns gar nicht aufnehmen weil sie dachten wir seien sogenannte "Spring Breaker". Wir haben natürlich darauf bestanden, hatten das Hotel ja bereits über diese Seite gebucht. Wir konnten dann nach kurzer Diskussion bleiben. Wir haben dann ein Roller gemietet und ein Kollege war ein bisschen ungeschickt und ist in eine Pflanze und in einen Tisch des Hotels gefahren. Natürlich war uns klar dass wir den Schaden bezahlen mussten aber sie haben einen Wucherpreis verlangt und haben es ausgenutzt dass wir nichts dagegen machen konnten. Zudem wollten Sie uns aus dem Hotel werfen wegen des Vorfalls. Wiederum hatten wir 2,5h Diskussionen und durften schlussendlich dann bleiben. Junge Leute sind dort anscheinend nicht willkommen! Zudem hat der Abfluss im WC nicht funktioniert und das Licht im Raum ebenfalls nicht. Von daher, Preis Leistung stimmt da nicht!

Wir hatten Suite 331 wunderbar ausgestattet und perfekt und ruhig gelegen mit Blick auf die Marina. In der Woche vor Weihnachten waren nur wenige aber sehr freundliche andere Gäste zu sehen. Das Personal durchgewegs freundlich und sehr umgänglich. Sabors (Bar/Restaurant) mit perfekter Küche und wunderbaren Drinks zu fast jeder Tageszeit. In der Weihnachtswoche dann der Ansturm von sehr lauten, durchwegs unfreundlichen Frühstücksbuffet-Abräumern, trotzdem waren die beiden Pools an der Rückseite des Hotels immer noch kaum benutzt und daher sehr empfehlenswert. Taino Beach und Lucaya Beach waren toll für die morgendlichen/abendlichen Strandläufe, tagsüber waren wir zumeist mit dem Mietwagen unterwegs und haben daher Lucaya Marketplace und die Umgebung des Our Lucaya Resorts nur Abends erlebt. Kitschig schön weihnachtlich beleuchtet mit netten kleinen Läden und durchwegs guten Restaurants. Abseits von Lucaya bemerkt man derzeit die fehlenden amerikanischen Investitionen und immer noch die Nachwirkungen der Hurrikans in 2004/2005. Alles in Allem ein gelungener, entspannender Urlaub in einem sehr guten Hotel wenn man nicht mit der Masse schwimmen will.

Hotellet er godt med restaurant, to swimmingpools, en spa pool, og gode værelser. Det ligger tæt på markedspladsen, der er dog ikke meget mere at se på. Hotellet har en aftale om gratis vandtaxi til Taino beach der sejler en gang i timen, man kan dog også bruge stranden, men ikke ligge stolene ved Radison hotellet, der er ca 300 m. derover. Dejligt sted hvis man er til strand og sol, hvis man også vil have lidt byliv eller kultur, er det ikke det rigtige sted.
