Avenue Suites - וושינגטון

I have been staying in a number of DC hotels over the past few months. This one is by far the best in terms of location, amenities, and service by the staff. There is no pool and the fitness facility is quite small (3 pieces of equipment only - bike, treadmill, elliptical) but fitness room was never crowded. Hotel is amazing in every other way. The rooms are spotless and huge with full size kitchens and full size appliances in each. Large living areas and huge bedrooms with 2 queen size beds. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, better than any other DC hotels I have stayed in. The location can't be beat within walking distance to the white house and Georgetown or take the metro (Foggy Bottom is 2 blocks away) if you prefer. To top it off, Trader Joes is just across the street. Truly everything you would ever want or need while in DC.

We stayed here for a bachelorette weekend in the city and had a great time. The staff was accommodating and friendly, the suites are large and comfortable, and you can't beat the location. We had a wonderful time.

Nice hotel with big rooms! Great location next to lots of shopping and dining! Easy walk down to the capital area!

Separate bedroom, lounge and full kitchen. Very comfortable and with Trader Joes across street. Very pleasant service. Well situated. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed this hotel. I went with four children and we had more than enough space to spread out. It is hard to find a suite that has two queen size beds plus a pull out sofa. The style is modern which my teenagers really appreciated. Having the full kitchen meant we could eat breakfast in every morning. The bus stops going both directions are on the same block as the hotel and the metro was about a 5 minute walk. There are several places to eat around the metro stop. The only negative was that the hotel suites do not have separate AC/heat units. The whole building has a system where either the heat is on or the AC is on. Unfortunately when we arrived, our suite was 78 degrees and even with shutting it off, it took almost 24 hours to cool down to a comfortable temperature. None of us slept well the first night. When we called down, we were told the only option was to open our windows. Even with the windows open, the room never got below 72 degrees over the 5 nights. I would also suggest to the hotel that they put up a curtain between the bedroom and the bathroom vanity area. It is great that they have a separate sink and vanity outside the actual bathroom itself but it would have been nice to be able to pull a curtain across so that the person getting ready at the outside sink area could change clothes and also keep it closed when getting ready for those that were still sleeping.

The location was fantastic. Close to the metro in Georgetown, lots of great shops and restaurants in the area. Not happy about our room. We are a family of 5 including 2 teenagers and an 11 y/o. We had a unit with 2 queen beds and a pull out couch. We had planned on also using our blow-up mattress for one of the kids but there was no room to use it if you pulled out the couch. The photos on the web site look a whole lot bigger the real thing. The table was small and only had 3 chairs. The kitchen was understocked for cooking utensils/pots/plates. The garbage disposal didn't work and the dishwasher wasn't attached to ithe wall so the drawers would shoot out when opened. They did fix the dishwasher after 2 days but not the garbage disposal. One evening we smelled cigarette smoke in our room that must have come from a vent or through a connecting/neighboring room.

Our family enjoyed our stay at Avenue Suites. Be warned, though...Watch out for parking fees. Two days was around $80. Our kitchen was very outdated, but served its purpose. Lovely sitting area in lobby and outside.

This hotel is great if you are looking for a place in Georgetown. Nice clean, modern rooms. Our room was totally quiet. Not luxurious but really nice, especially for the price. Parking is expensive, though- $40/night. I would definitely come back.

I was on business and brought my husband and our two kids (age 9 and 7) along for the trip. The room was perfectly outfitted for a family and we loved that Trader Joe's was across the street. With fridge, dishes, etc. in the kitchen, we were able to pick up things for breakfast, snacks, etc. Most importantly, Mitch (manager) & the entire staff at this hotel were among the best staff I've encountered anywhere I've stayed. Exceptional service. Very nice room. Great location. I would definitely stay again and recommend it highly.

I had to make a last-minute trip to DC to visit someone in the hospital, and I was able to get a suite during Easter weekend/Cherry Blossom Festival/NCAA playoffs - one of the last ones left! So glad I found this place. A short walk to the hospital (which is also at the Foggy Bottom Metro station), and everyone at the hotel was very nice and accommodating and eager to help me with any questions I had. Very nice, modern place. I didn't really use the lovely kitchenette and other amenities since I spent most of my time at the hospital, but I'm sorry I didn't get to stay longer. Would definitely stay there again on my next trip back. Great location! Not far from Georgetown area.

Loved Avenue Suites! Great location quick walk to the Metro and restaurants. Rooms were nice had one with a small kitchen was great. My kids enjoyed staying. Staff was polite. Will stay there again!

Had double suite with a bedroom, living room, kitchen. Soft, all white bed linens. Super clean. Hotel is modern & fresh. First stay here, really enjoyed it. Nice Thai restaurant a few steps away with healthy selections.

Unbeatable location for dc area. Great rates , nice rooms , valet parking ( free valet parking )

Room and location in the city was great. Rooms were a little loud; we could hear conversations from the room next door at times. Overall not too bad though. Amenities were great; Bar and outside patio were fun, it was great to have a full kitchen. We did have to stay an additional night at last minute notice. They were able to accommodate us w/o problems. Only complaint was the second room we were in had an adjoining room door in the living area which was very loud for a couple of hours. It was quiet when our neighbor turned his TV off and went to sleep.

The room was not as clean as I expected. Plus an individual who worked at the hotel opened the door and walked in unannounced.

I loved the amount of space in my room. Felt more like home than a hotel. I would definitely stay again!

The hotel staff was very knowledgeable around the surrounding area (Georgetown) and esp about parking availability and eateries. The room was incredible, the hotel was very chic and timeless. My friends and I enjoyed our stay--very cozy, welcoming, and contemporary. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting DC!

Very good service at the reception team, very helpful and kind.

I have never stayed in a hotel with an happier appearing staff that seemed very willing to please. Their upbeat attitude carried weary travelers along. The location and accommodations were also very nice.

The shower head, sheets and pillows were my favorite!!! The hotel suite was spacious and exceeded my expectations. The room was very clean, the front desk service had great customer service and the hotel was only a couple block from the Metro station.

Excellent service. Staff very courteous and helpful. Easily accessible to all office area and internet service was super. Will definitely stay here again. Wish the laundry machines cost less for the purpose of long stay.

Stayed over the weekend with my daughter and wife. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the location of the hotel great, the room giant and in very good condition, the kitchen was an added bonus; overall just a great stay! Highly recommended.

If you looking stay in the beautiful urban neighborhhood of Foggy Bottom - this is the place to stay! Walking distance from Georgetown shopping, DuPont Circle dining , and GWU. Liquor store and Trader Joe's short distance from the front door. I believe it's an all suites hotel with full size kitchen and flat screen TV's.. One annenity I really liked was the granite counter and sink/ dressing area (mirrored wall) outside the bathroom.

I recently stayed for a week, for business and vacation, travelling with my child. I couldn't fault the Avenue Suites in comfort, amenity and location - staff were always friendly and helpful. The cafe was a little expensive for breakfast, but the convenience of a kitchen in the suite and the fantastic central location more than compensated. Great value for money. Will recommend to business colleagues and friends.

This hotel was recently renovated and you can certainly tell. Everything is exceptionally clean and fresh looking. The rooms are quite large and comfortable. The hotel is located within walking distance to Georgetown. I was definitely pleased with my stay.

Easy access to Georgetown and within walking distance to all the main tourist areas. A nice modern hotel - would recommend !!

We stayed at the Avenue Suites during the 2013 Presidental Inaguration which was an extremely busy time for all hotels. You would not have realized it because the staff at Ave Suites made us feel that we were th only guests they had! We loved our stay so much that we extended it an additional day. From the moment we arrived until we left, the service could not have been better. Mitch was fabulous, he really went out of his way to make sure that we were happy during our stay. I must also mention Issam, Mahdi, Karam and Eda are also first rate. I travel a lot, but would be hard pressed to find a better hotel staff. The hotel is very close to Foggy Bottom metro center which made it extremely easy to get to all the attractions we came to see. My teen sons enjoyed the many good eateries in the area, especially BTS. Those burgers & shakes were outstanding! You cannot go wrong staying here, we sure didn't.

A very nice place to stay. The staff was more than accomodating and really friendly. With the full kitchen the room was much like a small apartment. A 20 minute walk to all the major attractions, Trader Joe's accross the street and Whole Foods Mkt a few blocks away makes this a choice location for a nice visit to DC. I was under the impression I had booked the last room for the busy Inaugural Weekend, but was asked if I wanted to upgrade to a more suitable room at checkin which was a pleasant surprise. The only negative was being charged for parking which was $40.00 when we had not used the hotel parking.The desk clerk graciously appologized for the error and gladly removed the charge. Look forward to a return stay.

The hotel is excellent, clean and very good condition. The location is great, very close to M St and metro. I would stay there again.

The room had been totally re-modeled and the kitchen cabinets had been paint, but, people, it's not my home, it's a hotel. Location in heart of George Town, 3 blocks from Metro. Trader Joe's market across the street. Excellent service from housekeeping to front desk. Will definitely stay there again!!!

On trip to Las Vegas, I got pumped to one of the top floors of the Venetian. The room was huge, I could have brought the rest of the family and been comfortable with my own space. Of course, like my business trip to Avenue Suites, I had the place to myself. The staff is very friendly and pays attention to detail.

Suites are spacious, staff always friendly & courteous

I have stayed at Washington Suites several times, and always like it, but not since it has become Avenue Suites. They have up-scaled the property and it is very nice. There was a mix-up in my reservation. When I arrived they had me in a very small typical hotel room. I told the desk that I though I had made a reservation for a one bedroom suite (small apartment). The desk was very accommodating and did place me in one. The reason I like staying here is because of the "apartment" when I am in DC for a week. It is very nice to have a kitchen, even if it is sparsely equipped . The hotel now has a full restaurant and bar but breakfast is quite expensive and it is nice to have my own in my room. This is a perfect location on the DC/Georgetown border. Metro station is a few blocks away and with Trader Joe's and very nice restaurants in he area I always feel very safe and comfortable traveling a a single woman. I highly recommend the cleanliness of the hotel.
