Pool, Gym, room and food are great

Great hotel, great service in a good location.

Lovely rooms, amazing breakfast, nice staff and the food at dinner was fab. Only complaint was that the pool and Jacuzzi situation was a bit disappointing. But I'd go back.

Love this hotel, such good value and has lots of lovely extras in the room.

I found this hotel online by searching for spa and swimming facilities, but only on finding a hotel letter in my room did I discover the entire leisure section was closed. In addition, one of the kitchens was also closed, with my first and second choices on the menu not possible. When I complained to reception, I was shrugged off with "I'll let the duty manager know". So ten miles out of town to find a comfortable bed I could have had for much less and much closer.

First impressions were excellent: an efficient reception, spotless room with soft, warm duvet and mattress topper. But we felt chilly, and found that we couldn't raise the temperature as it was at a default setting for part of the day. Excellent room service. We were told that we could go to the pool and sauna in our dressing gowns, but discovered that this meant going out across a courtyard in sleet, through reception, lounge and a bar full of football fans watching TV, so we gave that a miss! My daughter and I had wonderful facials in the spa. The evening meal was a little disappointing due to rather absentminded service. Our pre-meal celebratory Prosecco was forgotten, as was our wine, and we were served our starter without our drinks. We gave up on dessert after a long wait and went to finish our drinks in the splendid lounge in front of a few sad remaining embers of a woodburning stove and two huge but empty wood baskets. Our beds were luxuriously comfortable, but we were shocked into wakefulness at least 4 times in the night by a flushed cistern filling up above our room. Breakfast was excellent, with every possible choice of food, but we had to move tables as we found ourselves in a sort of corridor between two dining areas, and only a foot from the next table. Potentially a lovely place to stay, but avoid room 32 and any rooms on the cold corridor as you enter from the courtyard, especially in February.

Ok. Very busy, not relaxing, the Pool area is very poor and dirty.The room air con broke in the night and the staff were not very helpful. Some aspect are good, the bar, the squash courts the gym, the room, the bed certainly 4 star, the rest is just looking tired

Came up to all expectations. Enjoyed the food in the restaurant. Breakfast very efficient and good quality. room was very comfortable and well equipped.

Really great hotel, made welcome from the moment the desk greeted me.Every member of staf was polite and went out of their way to help. Room facilities was good, bar meal was tasteful and plenty of it. Only used the pool and steam room but very clean. Bit out of the way but would recommend the location, as everything about the hotel is good

Nice tidy hotel with good food, confortable rooms and decent wi-fi. Well worth the money. A bit isolated, so unless you want to get into the car you will be eating on site. Overall, very comfortable.

Good hotel, well run, clean and tidy. Food good quality. Room and bathroom fine. A bit isolated, but if you're OK with staying in the hotel all evening, absolutely fine.

Great hotel, will be staying here again and again.Room was new and modern and very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful- only negative was the poor phone and wi-fi signal throughout the hotel, other than that, it was spot on

I've been to the hotel on a number of occasions for work conferences, but on this visit it was for leisure. Unfortunately there is a refurbishment taking place at the hotel which we were not notified of beforehand. Room was comfortable and breakfast was very good. But there were problems with the hot water system - after using the swimming pool there was no hot water for a shower, and in the room it took - literally - 5 mins of running the hot water tap to get something resembling warm water to come out. It was a shame that it spoiled an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed for two nights at the Barnham broom over the christmas break. When we first arrived i was a little disappointed with the front of the hotel as it wasnt what i expected but the back of the hotel is beautiful. Check in was very easy and efficient. The room was of a good size and the bathroom was lovely but the main advantage was the bed! one word WOW! definatly a queen size bed and very comfortable could've stayed in there all day! We had breakfast in bed both days which was more than plentiful and gave us a good start to the day and had a paper sent to the room which was a nice touch. The bar area was very cosy and the bar well stocked. The only problem was the bar staff, who were mainly young people/ students and didnt seem to have much of a clue(im only 24 but i know the difference between wines and spirits and what measurement to use!). However they were very curteous and polite but not very adept. The main restuarant, flints restaurant, is the best restaurant i've eaten in and i've eaten in paris etc For starter i had partridge which was beautiful, whilst my partner had stilton and broccoli soup and normally not liking that particular soup really enjoyed it. For main, i had seabass which was one of the best meals i've eaten. The bottle of wine, although maybe a little pricey (around £20) was very nice and did it's job! The sports bar again was very nicely set out and the food lived up to the standard of the flints restaurant but in a more relaxed atmosphere. The problem we found was the number of golfers in the bar from around 9-10 i nthe morning until 6-7 at night. It makes the bar very busy and makes you feel a little uninvited when entering the bar. Also the gym, swimming pool and sauna link on to the bar so you have to walk through the bar to get there, just seemed a little strangely layed out. The swimming pool itself wasn't as big as it seems from the pictures although was adaquete. The sauana and steam room, although aga

lovely room - good place to stay

The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was super soft and cosy and there was plenty of storage for clothing. The bathroom was spotless and had a shower and a bath. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I left a necklace in the room and on phoning the hotel they had it put by for me and posted it out.

Real value for money. Food and service in Flint Restuarant excellent. Staff attentive but unobtrusive. Would recommend a stay there to everyone.

Idéalement placé pour la visite d'un de mes clients. Bon rapport qualité/prix. Rien à dire. Juste que le restaurant ferme un peu tôt et du coup obligé d'avoir recours au "room-service" en cas d'arrivé tardive. C'est souvent le cas en Angleterre.
