nice building, nice room , with a living at the floor , good breakfast and also the parking place that is something rare at the hotels in Amsterdam.

Honestly, I could have just stayed in the hotel all weekend. One major surprise was the quality of the adjacent club, which put on an excellent night last Friday with great DJs. I don't think I've ever heard such perfect sound in a club in my many years of clubbing! Apart from that, everything was perfect: great service, amazing decor, delicious food, extremely lush and comfortable room and a fantastic location next to the beautiful Oosterpark and handy to public transport. I thought I dreamt the place up! See you soon!

Husband and I were amazed at the hotel decor upon walking into the hotel. Front desk was friendly and told us that we were upgraded to a studio room because they were overbooked. Room was AMAZING; very spacious and simple yet had the contemporary feel. My other friends called us and wanted to see how different our rooms were (they were also upgraded). Their room was blocked off differently but still had the tasteful decor. Beds were very soft and was very clean. Would love to stay here again!

Loved this hotel, really quirky and interesting and despite Amsterdam being a incredibly expensive city, this hotel is terrified value and very close to two different trams which make getting around the city incredibly easy.

The room that we stayed in was very spacious and comfortable, over two floors. It is really close to the tramlines which take you to the city center. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We decided that we wanted a Christmas with a difference so we decided upon Amsterdam; a place we had both visited before and one that we thought would deliver everything we wanted. The Hotel Arena was a lovely hotel, located far close enough to the city centre but far enough to enjoy a quiet stay. Upon arriving, I was very happy with the hotel, staff very friendly and willing to help. However, the air-con in our room wasn't working and neither were the lights.....the staff moved us rooms no problems to a better room. The room was never cleaned and we had to request for this to happen. When if was cleaned, this consisted of pulling the sheets up!! All in all a reasonable stay, can't fault the reception staff but not sure would re-visit.

Lofty room, good price and in a quiet neighborhood but really close to the red light district ...10 min public transportation ride or 20 min walk.

Our stay at the Hotel Arena was wonderful. The hotel is beautiful, and the customer service is great! We liked the location of the hotel because the hotel was away from the busy tourist areas. The Tram stop was a two minute walk away that took us quickly to our daily destinations. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Our stay was very comfortable.. Conveniently located and close to tram stops, easy connection to central station and Dam Square... Rooms were clean and comfortable but just a bit small... Overall experience was good....

This hotel was just perfect. The room as immaculately clean, and a perfect mix of modern and old fashioned style. The bathroom was simply the nicest in any hotel that I have stayed in. The staff were very helpful an the location( just 4 mins via metro to central) was also just right. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and will be staying there again

I thought the room was too narrow and claustraphobic and why do I have to pay 25 euro per night to park my car???? The food in the hotel bar was awful. On the positive side, the room was clean and the staff where lovely.

The Hotel Arena is located a convenient 2 blocks or so from the 9 which goes to the central train station and the downtown tourist areas. The rooms are stylish and well appointed and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a comfortable one. The only minor issue I could see a guest having is that the rooms aren't particularly well soundproofed. You might want to ask for a corner room or one at the end of a hallway. It's a really minor issue though. I'd definitely recommend the Arena if you're spending some time in Amsterdam.

Very comfortable but too short!

The hotel is very nice and clean. The only drawback is that when you make shower is quite impossible to avoid that the water floods the bathroom.

The hotel was gorgeous and the room was unusual, it was a really great stay . The only negative point was that the breakfast was not included and too expensive 18eur. ( we didn t took it) . I recommend this hotel, espacially for couple, it s a romantic place.

Myself and a group of 8 stayed in the hotel arena for the weekend. It was excellent. Walk able to the centre or reception booked us a taxi straight away. Rooms were very good. Breakfast was nice but a little expensive.

I have stayed in the Hotel Arena several times, and there is a good reason to come back. A beautiful building, pleasant service, great breakfast, and a comfortable room: this place cannot be beaten. It has all the comforts of a modern business hotel, with ten times the character. Simply brilliant!

Lovely hotel and best bit about our trip..rooms are spacious and clean. fancy bathroom, two tvs! Very big and comfy bed, tea n coffee, mini bar(expensive) The restaurant was great too and had the best burger and chips! Would definatly recommend to anyone

The Hotel Arena in Amsterdam is set on the out skirts of Amsterdam's hustle and bustle, but very accessible via the tram system, one outside the hotel to the entertainment district (clubs & restaurants) and one approx 500m to Dam Square. Reading several reviews expressed this prior to booking which attracted me to the Hotel, being quiet, It is also walking distance to the centre if you don't mind negotiating the minefield of cyclist! Although the deluxe room we booked was nice, the split level bedroom was a little awkward climbing very steep stairs. The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Strongly recommend trying the Italian restaurant sign posted outside the hotel, 750m (turning left). Very nice food and very reasonably priced.

I always stay at Hotel Arena when I'm in Amsterdam. Really beautiful building, great staff and fun atmosphere. Stay at the hip bar/restaurant on premises or venture out into the heart of Amsterdam. It's only a quick train or tram car away.

Hotel staff are helpful and friendly. Location is a bit too far from the center of Amsterdam than I had realised for the price. The biggest problem was the room which was a duplex with an incredibly steep, narrow steps and open staircase (a nighmare if you had been staying with young children). The bathroom & desk, TV, wardrobe were downstairs and the bed was upstairs which meant you spent half the morning going up and down the stairs risking life and limb everytime you had forgotten to take something with you.

Lovely hotel, but about a 20-30 minute walk into the centre of town, and there is not much in the surrounding area. The bar looked nice but the service was terrible, really slow, we waited over an hour for some snacks, and drinks were slow to arrive. The room was lovely, the bathroom setup odd though, just a see through glass wall separating the barhroom from the sleeping area, the toilet was tucked around a corner, but not much privacy!!

* be prepared to pay 50 euros deposit per night * no hotel shuttle from schiphol to the hotel after 9pm * the basic room is extremely small * some guests may smoke weed in the hotel even tough it is forbidden * internet is very very expensive and there are only two computers at the lobby (one of them was not working while we were there) * The shower does not have any curtain or door so all the water fills the bathroom floor be careful! * The price is not fair for the service quality, you can find a cheaper place with the same quality.

Ny husband and I stayed at Hotel Arena in July 2011. It is super-modern with very black hallways, not our taste but if you like modern this is for you. We found the room also to be ultra-modern - in fact we didn't discover the clothes closet until we'd been there 2 days, we thought it was a mirror! We found the room to be very efficient but cold feeling. I wouldn't want to be on a first overnight date with someone - abslutely no privacy in the bathroom. The place was very clean and hotel staff were excellent. Breakfast was good but super-expensive.

We had a two-floor room with "living room" area and bathroom on the first and the bed on the second floor. The bathroom had see-through glass walls, which was a little weird. The location of the hotel was good, as well - it was quite easy to take the tram into town, although the check-in/out ticket system is quite annoying.

Easy to get to entertainment area and very quite neighbourhood. the hotel was clean and very nice. great service too.

This hotel was amazing! The staff was great, the restaurant and room service had awesome food, the mini bar snacks were a little expensive, but overall great :)

Probably the best hotel room I've ever paid for, the location is far away from all tourist sites and night life, but it's really quiet, you can sleep you if wanted to (unlike city center). My room is fantastic and roomy and well-detailed. Service is great, thoughtful and pleasant. The reception desk is very helpful and nice. I want to stay here if I ever go back to Amsterdam again.

Very nice, plush hotel. A bit out from the center, a good 40 min walk. No shops near by, so grab something in town if on a budget & you don't want raid mini bar or have the very expensive breakfast...about £18!! You can get a good deal if you stay 3 nights. Overall, nice if you can afford it.

The hotel arena is a converted elderly building in South East Amsterdam, about 20 min walk from central station. It's near to an orange line subway station, though, so it may actually be more convenient than a more central place. The decor is a sort of odd retro modern - an idea of being cutting edge, but from some hard to identify time in the recent past. All in all, I liked it, and would stay there again.

We stayed at the hotel Arena to attend a wedding. The staff were friendly and professional and found us all rooms on the same floor - for our convenience. The split-level rooms were lovely (bedroom on top, lounge area and bathroom on the entry level) clean, quiet and extremely comfortable (although the see-through bathroom walls took a little getting used to!) The hotel is about 10 mins from the main Leidseplein by tram 10 or 7, so is a good choice if you want to be on the quieter side of town. Breakfasts were good, although not included in our room rate, which was a pity. There is also a bar/restaurant, which some of our party used and recommended. Overall, a very nice place to stay.

Het hotel ziet er heel indrukwekkend uit vanbinnen, een zeer mooie trap die je naar de gezellige donkere gangetjes leidt. De kamers zelf zijn ook indrukwekkend, daar de plafonds vrij hoog zijn. Dat geef een zeer speciaal gevoel als je op het bed ligt en naar boven kijkt. Een minpuntje was dat de lakens niet 100% proper waren en dat we duidelijke vlekken terugvonden. Het bed zelf qua comfort was zeker inorde, een TV op voetafstand was ook aangenaam. De douche was de slechste douche die ik ooit heb gehad in een hotel. De straal was helemaal niet krachtig waardoor je vlak onder de sproeier moest staan, waar net het afvoerplaatje ligt. Dat wat dus niet handig, een douche gezellig met twee zat er helemaal niet in. Ook was er geen douche shampoo of douche gel, wat ik toch had verwacht in een 4 sterren hotel. Toen ik de kamer binnen kwam zag ik een flesje wijn en een pak chips klaar liggen. Direct dacht ik, leuke verrassing, tot ik de prijzenlijst zag liggen wat verderop. Het scheelde niet veel of ik had al iets geopend, zonder te weten dat het geld kostte. Dit zou misschien iets duidelijker mogen weergegeven worden. Hier en daar hadden we ook last van lawaai 's nachts. Voor de rest was er ook geen kast om je kleren deftig in weg te hangen, je had enkel 4 kapstokken. Eind beoordeling: het hotel was oké, maar ik had veel meer verwacht voor een 4 sterren hotel.

Prix promo très attractif. La qualité de l'offre est à la hauteur de la réputation, mais les services annexes sont inabordables aux voyageurs sans grande fortune. La solution, évitez tout supplément, déjeunez à l'extérieur, n'utilisez pas le frigo. Dehors, attention au stationnement, car les véhicules étrangers sont la cible des agents encaisseurs (4 euros de l'heure) et le parking de l'hôtel (vide) à 20€. En quittant, hôtel, j'ai été 'mal informé' par l'accueil sur une destination et de ce fait j'ai cherché pendant deux heures un bureau à une fausse adresse... Ce qui a quelque peu gâché la fin de non séjour en ville.

Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo anche se non centralissimo!

Prisvärt och snyggt hotell; magnifika korridorer och vanliga dubbelrum i etage - med stora fönster och således mycket ljusinsläpp; ett gammat barnhem som byggts om till hotell. Mycket tillmötesgående personal. WiFi fungerar tyvärr inte i rummen, så surfande fick ske i publika miljöer.

Hotellet var kjempefint! Nydelig innredet med blanding av ny design og detaljer fra før i tiden, bla noen gigantisk flotte trapper. Spennende bygning med historie, hotellet skiller seg definitivt ut fra de stor kjedehotellene. Rolig nabolag, litt i utkanten av sentrum men kort avstand til trikken. God mat. God seng, veldig bra service. Virket rent overalt. Det eneste jeg har å utsette på var at en av flisene (store, kvadratiske fliser på minst 60x60cm) på gulvet på badet hadde løsnet så det "surklet" med vann under den i dusjområdet.

Das Hotel ist modern und stilvoll eingerichtet.Leider war das Zimmer nicht ganz so sauber (Staub in den Ecken, Boden schlecht gewischt und ein verschimmeltes Glas unter dem Schrank) wie gewünscht und die Matratzen sehr weich/durchgelegen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, lediglich ein Kellner in der Bar war extrem unfreundlich und unmotiviert (fast hochnäsig). Die Zimmer sind hellhörig und in beiden Nächten haben betrunkene Nachbarn sich den Spaß erlaubt uns einen Klingelstreich zu spielen. Dafür kann das Hotel nichts, unschön ist es aber.
