Super 8 San Marcos - סן מרקוס

It was a okay experience, the ironing board would not collapse, but the manager came and took care of it immediately. Rate a 3 for cleanliness, but not bad..

Room was nice and I was provided with everything I needed. Bed covers were stained. However they were clean. My only real complaint was the room scent. There was a strong odor of peaches. I tried looking for the scented plug in but I was unsuccessful in locating.

The Super 8 was okay. I got a handicapped room which had a higher toilet and comfortable beds. We were transferred out of a room where the toilet wasn't properly bolted to the floor and moved around! It had a larger than normal hotel refrigerator and a microwave...convenient for those who want to cook food in the room. However, NONE of the electrical plugs were convenient at all. A piece of furniture had to be moved to plug in the computer, cell phone, e-reader.

Overall-this was an ok stay. We often stay in Super 8''s around the country. This one is tired and a bit more sparse than usual. But the room was comfortable, everything worked, no road noise, comfortable bed. I don't expect much in the way of the breakfast, but I do at least like instant oatmeal. Nothing like that here - so an inexpensive stay turned into a larger cost due to having to go find some semblance of breakfast. Other than that little blip - it was ok.

Disappointed that Wi Fi did not work and was not repaired during the stay. Staff very nice, friendly and helpful.

good price for location, near the college football stadium, campus. It's a three star hotel.

The shower was slimy when I stepped in to take a shower. In the middle of my shower the electricity went off. They were quick to get it back on but still...the generator or whatever should have been quicker to kick it on. The walls were paper thin and I had a hard time sleeping. Would not go back for second stay.

Staff was not friendly at all. called to front desk because toilet over flowed. Clerk asked if I needed a plunger. I asked if there was a maintenance person. She was very rude and said no. She asked in rude manner and stated my family was the cause and asked how much stuff did we put down in the toilet. Then she stated she will see what we can do. We left to eat supper and we returned toilet was unclogged and we had fresh towels.

We stayed at this hotel for a river trip to Don's. It was the perfect place for going to the square as well as the river. They allow pets which was nice and the front desk woman Pamela was wonderful! We arrived late and we got all checked in with no problems. The only problem we had was there wasn't very much parking and there were crickets chirping all night. We didn't wake up early enough for breakfast but saw they had waffles and cereal. Not bad for a quick weekend getaway!

Stay is reasonably acceptable thou more can be improve on in terms of cleaniness.

Having crickets outside and inside felt like we went camping. The beds were not as comfortable as home, but the room was clean.

Check in was quick and simple with friendly staff, gave them my name, he provided the key and directions to my room. The room was clean and spacious depicting the attention the cleaning staff takes in preparing the room. Even though the motel was full of guests, I didn't hear any noise and sound through the walls from the adjacent rooms. The location was ideal, close to Texas State University, I 35, restaurants, shopping areas, grocery stores. Considering price, location, and experience I will be retuning on my next over night stay in San Marcos and I highly recommend this motel to anyone where budget, location, and easy access in the San Marcos area are to be considered. My simple and pleasant stay allowed me to concentrate on my son's graduation activities from Texas State University. Thank you Super 8 Motel San Marcos!

Room wasn't very clean and bathtub had mildew.

This hotel was very clean but the restrooms did some maintance. However, it affordable and the bed sheets were change every day.

We came for a softball tournament. When we first walked in the door, I turned the light on over the vanity, and it started blinking. I called downstairs, and they blamed it on the weather. Everytime I wanted the light to come on, I had to hit it with my hand. There were not enough towels for the two of us. The light on one side of the bed didn't work. We brought our computer in, and the signal was so low that we couldn't get a connection. It was very musty smelling also. Needless to say, we won't be staying there anymore.

Good location, excellent service. I felt very comfortable staying there.

The charge for 1 night during the weekend of State Volleyball Tournament was twice as much as the hotel next door. I could not believe the condition of the hotel and room. The carpet was filthy. The bottom of my socks were brown after walking on the carpet for only 2 hours. The bathroom tile and bathtub had some kind of cleaning solution that was sprayed and left. It made everything dangerously slippery. The other couple that I was there with said their bathroom was the same. I would not recommend this hotel.

Bath tub wasn't great, no coffee for the coffee maker .. : (. Stay was fine, would stay there again.

This motel is among the worse I have stayed at in the states. Room: The rooms (we tried couple upon checking in) all have that smell of cheap cleaning products covering the odor from old carpet so when you first open the room the smell can blow you over. There is no openable window so the only quick way to get fresh air in is to open the door, and quite a few rooms are doing just that. Noises: We didn't let the AC on since it has cranking noises. The refrig kicked in in the middle of night and woke me up. Door doesn't seal well so we heard people talking at night. The freeway noises were ignorable thought. Bedding: The King size bed is actually okay. Service: My husband asked the front desk upon checking in where we can kayak around here, the guy said "I have no idea". I don't believe that with San Marcos being a party town and having a spring-fed San Marcos river as the only attraction besides Outlet shopping, was he not local or it is just that he didn't bother to think about it. Then we found that there was a map on top of the counter that told us exactly what we needed to know. The next morning when we went to breakfast the front desk lady was actually quite friendly. Continental Breakfast: Bagle+Pastries+Cheerios. There were only three tables so a few guests have to wait around to get a seat. Coffee was acceptable. OJ was artificial. There is a waffle maker. No fruits, not even bananas.

The room had a smell to it and the bathroom door did not close properly.

Overall a good stay. Clean bur old room. Very poor parking.

The room was very clean and I did not think the room would be as nice as it was because of the price, but I was surprised.Hotel.com helped me to find the best price where as the other sites did not. thank you

Good value - would stay again if traveling to this area; easy access on and off the highway and the staff and the hotel was very helpful and friendly. Quality of room for price - good.

Not very clean the room had an odor no worth the money

This was an excellent room for the price. Close to many attractions and supplied all amenities (ex; microwave, fridge, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, etc). The pool was fantastic and the bed was VERY comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

I was not asked for any form of ID when I checked in, which I found unnerving. The room was clean and had a working fridge and microwave. I like the convenient location to TSU, and had no problems with noise. The vending machine and the ironing board were among the things that were broken. We had to lay the ironing board flat on the floor and get on our knees to iron. The bathtub was very slippery, I slipped and hurt my ankle and right side. Overall its not the best motel I've ever stayed at but it wasn't the worst either.

This was a nice hotel to stay. The front desk was very courteous and had maps of San Marcos with addresses of restuarants, stores, and other things to do in town. I would recommend it to someone who has never stayed in San Marcos before.

Close to several dining places & shopping. Staff friendly, in a decent area. We stay there often; I would recommend if you want to stay somewhere for a night or so. Go Super 8!

We just needed a room to stay the night in. The air freshner comment was very true. The motel was good just the surrounding area was bad. I mean bad as in if you walked out the front door of our room you are facing an unkept apartment complex. However, the room was very clean and comfortable. The service was great and very helpful when asking about local resturaunts and for extra pillows

Our room was clean and very comfortable. The room may have been remodeled in the past few years - the paint looked now, stained wood crown molding, nice furniture, new refrigerator and microwave, and mattresses and pillows were perfect. Close to the interstate but i could hear no traffic in our room. I cannot comment on the breakfast since we ate elsewhere.

The room had too much freshner sprayed in it. Made my husbands alergies flair up. Bathroom had broken tile, poor tub, mold on shower curtain, and missing a big lightbulb in the ceiling.

The hotel is in good condition, the staff are helpful and friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The location, as is the case for nearly all San Marcos hotels, is not that great being on I35, but for a night, was OK. I felt, for the type of hotel, it was a little expensive however.

The front desk help was the best. Very helpful and really added to our experience. Good advice and helpful for future stays. I wish she worked every place we will stay in the future. I was concerned that the property next to the hotel was an apartment complex. They were quiet and my wife and I felt safe. The parking lot was small but we were not crowded in. The pool was open and nice. The wifi worked great and we didn't have to pay a sign on fee like with Motel 6.

We stayed there 2 nights to attend my daughter's wedding & rehersal in Kyle, Tx the rooms were clean & smelled nice.. mabe a little over done on the air freshner. Only a few complaints.. but nothing major.. they dont have very good access to plugs for laptop computer.. they only left me 1 bag of decaff the first night & then 1 bag of caffinated coffee the second night.. kinda strange but it was ok..All & all was a comfortable stay .. Oh & had a screw stuck me on the desk chair.. I called the desk & they replaced it promply so it was nice service there.

The hotel was very nice and clean overall. My only complaint would be that our room was on the backside, with no parking there so it was rather far to haul luggage in.

Hotel was clean.. Great Affordable Price $$$... Overall would recommend.
