Stayed night before ND Spring game. Good location but not very clean and room was 100 degrees when we got there because housekeeping had turned heat on high. Front desk seemed to not care at all when asked about it. Breakfast in mornin was basically empty already at 8 am. Wouldn't recommend unless everything else in area is booked.

Well, I had to carry the bags up & down the stairs as there is no elevator, which is strange. The man at the service desk said breakfast was from 9-12. I got down there at 9:30 & there was nothing. I called hotels.com yesterday & they said everyone knows breakfast is 6-9 am. Well, that's not what I was told ! I am not very happy about Super 8.

We all had a great time. It was a nice place to stay.

Stay as a whole was good. The staff had absolutely no personality. Found remote underneath bed.

When I booked the room, I was looking for a cheap room and one that was close to where I had to be in the morning. It was great to have a room cleaner than I thought it was going to be for the price. The room was nicely set up with a chair and a light great for the reading that I needed to do, a refrigerator to keep my morning caffeine since I don't drink coffee, and a bathroom that DIDN"T have any mold in it. I misplace my channel lineup and when I asked for a second one, there was no problem and the clerk even checked room availability for the next night due to weather in my home town. She was very helpful. Breakfast was missing some fruit and egg protein but overall it was a great setup. Loved the stay.

I don't usually stay at any place with less than a 4 star review from other guests, but this trip was spur of the moment and I was looking to travel cheap and the rate was incredible. Overall the hotel was fine. It could be cleaner. They don't do a very good job of dusting and vacuming. There was no "do not disturb" tag for the door so house keeping will be knocking on the door. Breakfast is very very basic, but free. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. I was comfortable there.

HOTEL WAS IN A GOOD LOCATION BUT, IT COULD USE SOME UP DATING AND BREAKFAST COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER

shower in bath needs to be fixed

Stayed here with my 10 yr old son when we came up for Notre Dame game. Awesome location across the street from big shopping mall, lots of restaurants etc and only 2.5 miles from campus. Can't beat the price and proximity to ND however as noted in all the reviews the hotel is a budget hotel. Bead and pillows are soft. Clean room but had musty smell throughout hotel and room however my son who usually has allergies or sneezed had no issues at all. Did not try the breakfast. Only laid our heads down to sleep and were out exploring ND and South Bend. Highly recommended if you only need a bed to sleep in. Go Irish!

:People were nice and they tried - but smoking must been encouraged at one point. yellow stains everywhere- the smoke detector was yellow yet the room was just painted a nice white

This hotel overall was satisfactory. The location was excellent and was only a short drive to Notre Dame. The room was outdated, but clean. The biggest negative was that the room smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. The breakfast items were very limited and not replenished frequently, but for a free, quick breakfast, not bad. A good experience for a place to sleep and shower between activities on campus. This was the second time I've stayed here and will stay here again.

Hotel was decent, the pillows suck so bring your own. Close to everything, good price, nice staff, ok breakfast. It's a decent stay for what you pay.

Place was the worst hotel ever the room smelled like mold and cigarettes! but also I will never use hotels.com too can't believe they said it was ok! Never never! Nick p.

If you just need a place to lay your head for a night or 2, you can't beat the price. Room was clean. Bed was okay. Continental breakfast was good.

The hotel was...well what I paid for...cheap! The cost was cheap and so was everything else. The first room we were put in smelled like cigarette smoke so bad it was unreal, when I went to the clerk he informed me it was a smoke free hotel.....guess the last guest in that room didn't know that! In our next room two bibles acted as one of the bed frame legs. The head-board was loose so it bagged none stop. The a/c kinda worked as long as I turned it off and back on every few cycles. The breakfast was not what you normally get at a Super 8....big disappointment. The entire hotel was HOT, HOT, HOT! Wifi was spotty at best. With all that being said it was what I paid for.....Last thing the morning clerk that took his cigarette break on the front steps of the entrance was super nice....guess he didn't know that place was smoke free either :)

We booked this room based on two things: (1) Other reviews that said it was fine for a one-night stay only, and (2) the fact that we were arriving very late on a Saturday night and didn't want to pay a higher weekend rate at a nicer hotel. Here are the pros at this Super 8: (1) the beds were comfortable, (2) the shower had good water pressure, (3) great location, and (4) our car wasn't broken into overnight. Here are the cons: (1) The clerk was less than friendly and pretty suspicious, (2) the second lock on the door was broken (we shoved two chairs in front of the door just in case), (3) the room was supposed to be non-smoking, but was obviously a former smoking room and it reeked, (4) there were not enough towels in the room, (5) the whole hotel lacked AC until we turned on the room air conditioner and it cooled after 30-40 minutes, and (6) it was bare basics - the alarm clock didn't work and there wasn't a coffee pot. I'd only stay there again if I arrived really late for a one-night stay, and as a woman, I sure wouldn't stay there alone.

Clerks unfriendly and indifferent at front desk. Room not clean. Cigarette holes in sheets. Many reviews we read after we arrived on line talked about bed bugs - we did not see any but were paranoid about them. Outside hallways were dirty and smelled.

Both people at front desk were not customer service oriented..the man in the morning I thought was gonna bite us....outside the room lots of dirt and nasty looking...looks like they are renovating..but it is bad news...hardly any cars in parking lot should have been a key...many reviews we read after we got there talked about Bed Begs - so we were also worried about this...Hotels.com needs to check these properties out before they let people go there...rooms were creepy and that was the overall impression of the hotel and the breakfast was YUK!

Contrary to some of the reviews I read prior to booking at this hotel, my room was very clean, smelled clean, and was more than adequate for my needs. I had never before stayed at a Super 8, normally preferring to spend a little more for a moderately higher end hotel. I was pleasantly surprised at the amenities, which included hair dryer, iron & ironing board, refrigerator, desk, and easy chair in the room itself and complimentary continental breakfast. The breakfast was similar to what I had experienced at hotels such as La Quinta, Hampton Inn, and Country Inn & Suites. The furniture in the room was not brand new, had been scuffed up a bit, but the cleanliness is really all that mattered to me. I would certainly book here again.

I and wife have visited South Bend area with friend and his wife. We stayed in Super 8 for 1 night. When travelling over weekend or long weekend we prefer to stay in Super 8. Th hotel in Mishawaka was convinient for us during recent travel to South Bend. The hotel has all what we were lokking for and affordable price.

I have stayed at this location previously on trips to Notre Dame. While the overall conditions were satisfactory, it seemed to me that this location had taken som subtle steps backward from previous stays. The room had recently had whatever pictures previously on the walls, leaving the hardware on the wall. The bed's headboard was not attacted to the bed or the wall. One of the lamps was missing a bulb. Neither the room mnor the bathroom had cups. HBO service has recently been discontinued. Continental breakfast was very limited. However, the property was clean and the beds comfortable. My impression was that the management had recently changed and was cutting costs.

It was an ok room at an ok price. The coffee maker was barest minimum. The bed was comfortable. It had wireless Internet. They were out of orange juice at 7AM. I'm glad I didn't count on breakfast.

Needed a fairly inexpensive place to stay for one night, would recommend for that purpose. Not for a luxury vacation stay because really what is in Mishawaka and Super 8 is not a luxury hotel. Free internet, hotel service was decent. Free continental breakfast was not very good, had extremely watered down orange juice like they were trying to stretch what ever they had left by adding lots of water.

Location is convenient to Notre Dame and local restaurants and businesses. When we arrived, we checked into the room and found the bathroom door would not close completely. An alternative room was quickly provided us. The room was a little run down, but clean except for the two box elder bugs crawling the wall. This was a comfortable and acceptable room for sleeping and showering around Notre Dame football activities. The breakfast was minimal, but at least their was somthing to eat. The ice machine was out due to some ND fans filling up their large coolers in the morning. I would stay there again.

In town for a football game, price was near the best. I probably would stay somewhere nicer if it was not a football weekend.

We made our reservations through Hotels.com for one night but found that we needed to stay an additional night that we had not expected. By extending our stay at the hotel reservation desk, we were required to pay an additional $10. Be sure you know exactly how long you are going to stay. The breakfast was adequate but would have been better with the addition of instant oatmeal and the like.
