Gran Melia Colon - סביליה

Not sure what look this hotel is going for - it looks like the upgrades done only covered up some old infrastructure. Very friendly staff.

I was very happy to stay there. I am kind of not easy to satisfying person according to my spouse and I was very satisfied. Everything was very clean and bed sheets were very high quality(thick 120 or 150 cotton), amenties were great, location was very convenient and people working at hotel were extremly gentle and helpful. Only concern is that; I wish there is a handle that I could use to come and go to bathtub. Tapas bar at the hotel was very good too.

Great location, wait staff, and facility. It was all we expected and more.

A very nice hotel. Pluses: lovely rooms and a pretty lobby. Minuses: I would rather be a little more central in Seville and there was no internet access in the hotel. That can be difficult when you don't have a computer with you, which I never do. In this pretty little city, I would prefer to stay in a cozier hotel.

Well it is a nice hotel but the red level service was inferior to the Melia Fenix in Madrid.

The Location is perfect but the sevice came away as being disinterested. The room was nice, but the shower head didn't work after the first night. Overall I would stay there again - the trip was amazing!!!!!

The hotel was great! In walking distance of many attractions, although the immediate neighborhood seemed a little sketchy. And hearing the church bells almost every half hour and garbage trucks around 4 am could have been done without. The restaurant below the hotel was amazing, Gourmet Tapas Delicious!

An excellent hotel in a very good location. It is very comfortable to stay in this hotel. It is a truly five-star hotel, worth every penny.

The Gran Meila Colon is an excellent and very comfortable hotel. Their breakfast is fantastic, perhaps not worth the 30 Euro per person charge, but great nonetheless. The welcome glass of champagne was a great way to check-in. Overall a wonderful, comfortable and very clean place to call home in Seville. Highly recommended.

Outstanding facility ... exceeded only by the service provided by the staff!

This hotel was excellent. The staff was helpful and courteous. Our room was beautiful with a mural by Murillo painted on the outside of our door. My only complaint is that in the mornings when the maid service would come through the hallway, it was very loud as the doors aren't slam proof and so you could hear the surrounding doors slam repeatedly during that time period. The hotel was very conveniently located. You can walk to all of the local attractions. Plaza Nueva is particularly close. The hotel's lobby and design are superb. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Seville.

Spacious well appointed rooms, Michelin hat restaurant, great location with inexpensive cafes and bars 100m from hotel. Close to shopping and tourist areas.

the hotle is very nice. Our room was huge. The staff was very helpful and friendly! Our massages were excellent. The location is perfect. We very highly reccomned this hotel.

When we arrived they upgraded us to a 1 bedroom suite which was a nice surprise. We had booked the premium red level service which was worth the extra dollars. We took advantage of the free soft drinks and free lunch 2 of our 3 days. While we were there the Barcelona football team was also staying at the hotel which added some excitement but not inconvenience. The room was great if a little warm when we arrived but the air conditioning did get it cool and kept it there. The hotel paid a premium for fancy lighting system which was cool but not so necessary. Our suite had a separate deep tub which was very relaxing after a day spent walking. The location was great and the staff very friendly. We had breakfast included in our package and it was good with many choices although I admit to missing crispy fried bacon after 2 weeks in Spain. I would recommend to all couples and anyone looking for a nice boutique hotel.

We stayed here on 30 December. The Red level services are friendly but the lounge really has minimal benefit. A very well-equipped buffet breakfast is included. Every staff member is courteous, efficient and eager to please. The room was an upgrade from our standard choice and was quite large (a junior suite), very well-equipped and pleasant. The location is within walking distance of everything in Sevilla (15 minutes to the Cathedral for example). Parking is limited although we found on-street parking in front of the Hotel tapas bar., which is outstanding, by the way. This is the first time I stayed at this property, but it is my new favorite in Sevilla.

We spent Christmas on our honeymoon at the GMC. The room was spacious, comfortable and very romantic. We returned from a stroll along the river to find rose petals strewn about the rooms and huge bath tub and a bottle of cava, strawberries and chocolate waiting for us. The staff was helpful and attentive, especially in finding restaurants and things to do when much of Seville was closed for the holiday. Would definitely stay here again.

In Spain this is known as the hotel of the toreadors because it is where they all stay during the bullfights. The staff on Red Level was incredible, especially Fernando our personal concierge. We did not care at all for the deco style of the rooms (black,white,gold) or the tricky lighting system. The room was way too dark for our taste. The bedroom in the suite was cramped. The internet worked fine for my MAC, but not at all for my husband's PC. I loved that there was a great beauty salon right across the street, but next time would prefer to stay in the area around the Cathedral where all the action is. I recommend this for the hip 28-45 year old set.

the melia colon is in a great location, with great customer service. the place is exquisitely decorated...especially love the art on the hotel room doors!

Superb Hotel. The staff were very helpful indeed. Candido in Concierge was an absolute Gem and able to sort all trips, car hire and his advise proved extremely useful for visit within Seville, trips to Grenada and Malaga. An issue that cropped up was the triple room allocated was not a superior one but this was quickly resolved the next day. We had 3 rooms and a double room also needed changing as there was no door between toilet and bathroom. A bit surprised about this. Again this was resolved the next day. Overall the staff at every level were excellent and if we are ever to visit Seville then this is a good hotel to stay at.

We stayed at the Gran Melia Colon for 2 nights during our honeymoon. The staff was excellent - very helpful and friendly. The even surprised us with champagne, flowers and candles when we returned from dinner our first night! The room wasn't huge, but it was nice, clean, and comfortable. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Seville!

The hotel room was clean and quiet and located in a great neighborhood. My only complaint is that the free internet in the room did not work at all well. Often we had to leave the room and go down the hallway to get service. The staff was very friendly, although the concierge was not that helpful. Overall a very nice hotel!

We really loved staying at the Gran Melia Colon. The staff were very helpful, especially Marcel at the front desk. No request was too trivial, and he answered all our questions with a smile. He found a great restaurant that would deliver pizza to our room, he monitored the Icelandic volcano eruption to see if our flight would be ontime, and was always ready to help with any request that we made. My only complaint is that it was very difficult to cool down the room. The air conditioning was not powerful enough to keep the room comfortable. The room itself, though, was modern, spacious, and offered many T.V. stations in English. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious, and the location is fabulous, with the tram to downtown and the central train station just outside the door of the hotel.

My wife and I had a mixed experience at Gran Melia Colon. The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly, the hotel was generally clean and beautiful with a nice mix of classical and contemporary design elements, but on the downside, the bathroom is protected from shower splash by a tiny glass shield which forces you to choose between turning the water on and off while standing crowded up against the wall, or flooding the bathroom every time you shower for more than a minute. As it turns out, the water distribution is uneven, running cool then surging to painfully hot instantly, then back to cool again in unpredictable waves of too cold/too hot, so short showers were all we wound up taking anyway. On our first night, my wife was awakened by the sensation of something crawling on her. It turned out to be a huge cockroach, the biggest one I've every seen (and I grew up in New York). Now Seville is an old city, and not the cleanest city, but we were on the 4th floor and nowhere near a kitchen. We photographed the creature before I killed it (it took several direct strikes with a boot heel) and the next morning showed the evidence to the front desk staff who, to their credit, took it quite seriously and moved us to an upgraded room. The new room was on the top floor with a nicer view. Same shower problems though. For those traveling to Seville, I would not steer you away from this hotel, but it is not a rave either. If you do stay here, you can expect to be well located in the old part of the city, and to have excellent service from a very friendly and helpful staff, a comfortable bed, a pretty but small-ish room (even in the upgraded rooms on the top floor), and a beautiful bathroom with a poor shower experience. One final word: Seville is touristic, somewhat dirty, not terribly friendly, and the food is hit-or-miss and hard to predict based upon the look of the place, the crowd, or the menu. Typisches Hotel einer großen Kette! Schöne Fassade und innen für ein 5* Haus eher bescheiden. Obwohl Zimmer mi Stadtblick gebucht, wurde uns ein sehr düsteres Zimmer mi Blick in einen engen Innenschacht zugeteilt. Erst nachdem wir reklamierten gab es ein Zimmer auf die Strasse aber immer ohne Sicht. Frühstück war sehr gut der Raum für die Größe des Hotels eher zu klein. Alternativ gab es einen Salon ohne Fenster ohne jegliche Atmosphäre. Service am Empfang sehr gut. Gute und ruhige Lage.

Lo único de 5 estrellas para este hotel es la amabilidad del personal, su ubicación y el desayuno.La tapa del hervidor inexistente, lámpara de pie torcida ( sólo había que darle vueltas para atornillarla), luces que hay que estudiar a fondo las instrucciones para conseguir dominarlas. Sólo ir si se consigue un precio de promoción.

We enjoyed an excellent service from the start to the end. Check-in was very professional and with champagne. The room was great and stylish and with all equipment required. Cleanness was great and we always received nice goodies like a sherry or chocolate etc. The location of the hotel is perfect, you can reach all spots and the the shopping area within minutes. Sleeping quality was excellent. They have very good beds and a good noice protection. The fitness area is a bit small. However, since I was alone it wasn't really a problem. The equipment is in very good condition. The hotel is very stylish, especially from outside and the lobby. We can really recommend this place for your stay in Sevilla.

instalaciones del hotel excelentes, su ubicación muy cerca del centro historico, muy buena la atención del personal de la recepción. Habitación muy limpia y comoda , disfrutamos mucho nuestra estancia en ese Hotel...lo recomiendo ampliamente- gracias

el hotel no es nada del otro mundo, pero es bastante aceptable. lo que si puedo decir es que los shows que recomendo el hotel de flamenco que fueron el arenal y el gallo, son espectaculares y diferentes. y el restaurante la isla cerca del arenal tiene una comida que es de las mejores que nos hemos comido en cualquier viaje.

avec une super promo, cela vous permet d'aller dans un 5 etoiles (=4en France)pour a peine plus qu'un Campanile.super service, chambre tres confort, silencieuse, super equipé. le petit dej est un peu cher 26€ mais reduc de 50% avec la carte MAS.... et a 13€ c'est super interessant.

El hotel fantastico, pero el olor ambiental del lobby era como a desinfectante de baño, ctreo que no condice con hotel de 5 estrellas

L'hôtel est bien situé, propre, confortable et pratique pour la visite des prncipaux monuments et le shopping. Quelques petites observations toutefois : le petit déjeuner (non inclus dans le prix de la chambre) est plutôt cher (26 Euros) et la chambre bien que supérieure est plutôt petite.

Flott hotell verdt å prøve. Selv om frokost ikke er inkl i prisen så er dette mitt i blinken for et besøk i Sevilla. Entste som koster litt over normalen er parkering.

Recomendado para aquel que quiera ir a pasar unas agradables fechas a Sevilla y posteriormente descansar de una estupenda velada, bien en sus comodísimas habitaciones o bien en su solarium, uno de los mas famosos de Sevilla. Altamente recomendado. P:s:Así mismo el trato del personal fue exquisito y nunca hubo ningun problema de ningun tipo
