Was supposed to have Queen size bed and room has a Full size bed. The bed was not comfortable and it rattled. The non-smoking room smelled like smoke. It sounded like the people above me was going to fall through the ceiling every time they walked.

I did not like Sun Suite. Our room smell like smoke when we first git there. The bedding was nasty. We had a TV that played black and white. They never gave us clean towels. I had to complain to the front desk. They said we will have come to the front desk and give them our old towels to give get newer ones. The water was lukewarm in the showers. The whole experience at

I usually don't write hotel reviews but with Sun Suites I will make an exception. Staying there was probably the worst experience I've had in a hotel in the US. I always thought there were certain minimum standards a hotel should satisfy in order to operate. This hotel does not meet most of them. My family and I got 2 rooms there last Saturday night so we could vote on the Venezuelan elections on Sunday. One of the rooms felt like walking into the lungs of a lifelong smoker (and it was supposed to be a non-smoking room), with one small double bed, dirty and worn out. The second room's smell was not as bad as the first one, but it had no hot water on the shower. I could hear my mother screaming out of cold from outside the room. Ice machines would not work on any of the 3 floors and there was not a single bottle of water in the vending machines. We tried to get at least another room in a different hotel but everything was booked due to a jazz festival. The neighborhood was pretty scary too. At 4am we decided to get our things and leave the place. If there is absolutely no other place to spend the night on, then consider staying here. Otherwise, go somewhere else.

I am not satisfied for the money I paid and what I got. The front desk closes sometime after evening hours until at least 7:30 AM. During this time, nobody from the hotel staff is available to attend any request.

The room was not cleaned during my stay, neither was the bed made nor fresh towels put out. The staff seemed nice, but the rooms were lacking. The linens were worn out and the bed spread was dirty.

We went to New Orleans to board a cruise ship. Sun Suite is about 10 miles from the ship. Down town hotels were $150 - $300 per night, too much for our budjet. We stayed at Sun Suite for $67 taxes included. The room was clean, smelled very clean, the rome was larger than most we have stayed in had a full kitchen. If we go again we will surely stay here and I would recomend this hotel to any one. We couldn't have been more pleased. Gary & Wilma

The outside of hotel was cleaner than room. Room was OK for price.

The bed sank in the middle, and the only compensation was "We will make note of that" which is code for "we don't care, and the next sucker we get will have to suffer, too." Requested a different room, but it was denied. It was only a night, but will not be returning to this hotel.

It was a outstanding get away with great workers.

Would not go bk to much action goin on ppl to loud bed sleeps bad I order a join room didn't gt it the beds was suppose to b queen they was full size pics can b decieving

rooms were closed with duck tape; wasn't provided the room I paid for; was given a room with no sheets or pillows for bed.

Hotel is really making strides to compete with upper level hotel brands.

The hotel was located in an area that I wouldn't walk in. My room was old and smelled like it had been a smoking room and then converted. There was used coffee in my coffee maker and no creamer, sugar, etc. My room wasn't cleaned my second day in the hotel. I would strongly urge everyone to stay away from this hotel. I'd rather sleep in the airport!!!!!

Stayed two nights. No cleaning service unless you requested it. Thinwall's and noise throughout the evening, could not sleep. Left early no one was in the lobby -it was locked up lights off

it was very comfortable. the manager there was very professional and has excellent customer service skills.

Bed had a lumps or some obstruction in mattress. Bathroom was dirty, hair in tube. Shower head barely worked. Have other guest near by partying and screaming all night. Over all it sucked!

We stayed at Sun Suites before and it was good but I must say this Hotel is in need of repair in rooms. The stove did not work,the faucet didn't work properly,the room was not clean they were dusty and the carpets needed more vacumning,light switches didn't work,bed was so uncomfortable. The ac worked perfectly and the microwave worked well.

I had an early morning reservation for 1am. Upon arrival from a 7 hour road trip, I found it very difficult to find the address using my GPS. Sun Suites has invested in a billboard; however the sight line for motorist was poorly planned. More street level signs would be helpful. The development was making improvements by replacing carpet. The overall stay was accommodating.

I paid close to $200 for a room at this hotel just to see Mardi Gras the night before I left to go back home. While I was checking in, there were 3 people checking in along side me for rooms less then $100 a night because they were walk ins and didn't fill all the hotel rooms to capacity, needless to say when I asked they would not give me the same rate! This hotel is far from Bourbon, costing me at least $30-$40 every trip back and forth in a cab, which I made around 5 trips which included the airport. I only stayed one night, the girls at the desk didn't seem to happy or inviting, when we asked if they could call us a cab they gave us a piece of paper with cab services around the area to take us to Bourbon Street, we waited two hours and still nothing, half the numbers were out of order. They still didn't help with trying to get a hold of anyone. Eventually we made it down there, no help from them. The rooms are bland, there is nothing wonderful about them, the bed is totally uncomfortable and in the 4 hours I was able to sleep before catching my flight, my back hurt from it! The plus is they have a full kitchen in the room, full size fridge, stove, sink, all the necessities, the bathrooms were also pretty clean. Otherwise the decor is old and outdated, and I didn't feel entirely safe, the doors of the room are really iffy and can see the outside right through the floor and sides of the door, anyone could of gotten in with a simple kick to it. Shady place.

We checked in early and had no problems. We got a smoker's room but the smell wasn't so bad. We just kept the window open and the a/c running. The room was clean, had towels, sample soap and shampoo. We felt safe and it was close to New Orleans and the Mardi Gras fun.

I am and avid business traveler and never leave reviews, but in this case I feel it is needed. Do yourself a favor and pass on this hotel. I had to spend four nights here during Super Bowl weekend. Room was filthy and I never had room service during the stay. Crackhead Residents living here will not leave you alone, undercover drug bust in the parking lot, and a homeless man sleeping under the stairs outside of our room. Not a safe place to stay.

Old rundown furniture, uncomfortable bed which was the size of a twin but they considered queen. Broken microwave handle that came off Everytime I pull to open it. The receptionist in the lobby looked at me like I was crazy when I pointed out they had run out off coffee for the second day straight. Not to mention they wouldn't help us with a cab to get around for Super Bowl. A Motel 6 was of higher caliber.

Room was dirty when we got there. Never changed. Pretty nasty.

The stay was ok, could have been better need an up grade to the hotel and a clean and surrounding.

Musty smell when we first walking in to room but it went away after running ac for a couple of minutes. Surprised that it has a mini kitchen with cups and silverware. Not a bad stay.

The check in person was not in the office for about 10 mintues. The room smelled. It was non smoking but someone had been smoking. The sheeets didn't look clean. The location of the hotel is good but, getting to it is horrible..

The room was ok but if you get there before 3:00 for check in you WILL have to wait in the lobby. There was a hole in my bed sheets and the cleaning lady parks her cart right in the middle of the walkway and doesnt move because shes always on the phone. I had to push it over in order to get by with my luggage. Theres only coffee in the room BUT no cups, cream or sugar so you have to drink black coffee straight from the pot. It is close to downtown, about ten minutes from Bourbon street, which is where we were going.

From the pictures it looked ok to book for a quick overnight stay. On the outside the Motel looked just fine; however as soon as I walked in my stomach turned. The room reeked of smoke and other odors. The carpet was dirty. I am getting a little sick thinking about it. I called the front office and asked if there was a non-smoking room available because the room reeked of smoke. The front desk said no all rooms here are non-smoking. There where bun marks all over the bathroom floor and vanity. There were also burn marks in the kitchenette area. I would have just left and went to another hotel, but my kids were like “No mom let’s just tough it out. let’s just go to sleep and get out of here.” They knew I had already booked and paid for the room and did not want me to spend more money on a room. The rate for the room was too much for the type of place it was. This seemed to be the "hourly" type of motel. I would NEVER. NEVER recommend this place.

Not good. Will not stay there again.

I gave service a poor rating cause when i walked into front office i waited 5mins before someone came from back to assist me there was no bell or nothing to call them and let no i was out there she was not a friendly hosts at all her name was Dana

I have visited this hotel twice and this time was a more pleasant experience as far as the room goes. The carpet was clean the room was spacious and clean. I didn't like that pets are allowed to stay and a huge dog barked often. The front desk staff was not as friendly and attentive as I would have liked however the room was comfortable and the price was great.

First the location is noisy from traffic, etc. On the second night at about 5am the fridge fan began buzzing loudly waking us up. I had to unplug the fridge to get it to stop. The room also smelled musty. Internet was almost non-existent.
