Castle Hokele Suites Waikiki - הונולולו

Not a fun place to stay, it's old there is nothing good about it only the fact that it is close to shopping stores and the the beach. I do not recommend anyone to stay here. They do have a charge for everything at the end you are better off paying a little more for a better place. WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.!!!!!!!

We had to look for a hotel with a kitchen included since we have an infant. It was inexpensive compared to the rest of Oahu. Considering you are walking distance from the beach and in the Waikiki area, it was worth it. My only complaints were about the maintenance of the rooms and cleanliness. We felt the smell of stale air as soon as we walked in and had to ventilate the place to dampen the smell. It wasn't too bad after that. I was worried but found NO bugs. The towels were replaced pretty often and trash was removed frequently. However I found that they had adequate utensils but the knife was pretty blunt and needed an effort to cut anything. Internet is not included and neither is parking. I paid $20 for parking per day and $24 for internet for the week. They had a clean pool. Public transportation is pretty close by and actually found it pretty comfortable. The location was awesome since it was in waikiki area and to me the beach was in walking distance (10-15min). I don't think you can ask more for the price.

we only stayed one night and i was glad for that. we had a "3 room suite" turns out it was a two room with an ajoining room. the hotel rooms were really old looking. everything look old and run down. the bathroom floor looked like it needed to be bleached. the shower was so dirty that I only washed my hair in the sink as I was going to be at a different hotel the next evening. it was really close to shopping areas and the beach. I went downstairs to use the computer and paid for 30 minutes to print my boarding passes and after 12 minutes of getting errors, it told me I needed to purchase more time as the remaining 18 minutes were not enough to print what i needed. what a crock, my passes finally printed after paying a total of 10 dollars for what should have been an hours time and was actually only 15 minutes. what a racket. I wouldn't stay here again. i'd pay the extra for a nicer hotel.

For the money, it was ok. It is a very old hotel and the rooms could use some renovating. I wore my sandals when I showered. It was only a couple of blocks to walk to the beach and shopping. The breakfast was very Japanese and 2 buses of Japanese tourists came in to eat while we were there.

I stayed here for two days. Releatively, it is clean and the staff is nice. And it is also cheap. With that being said, they charge WIFI and the it is a little expensive. You can find free wifi in the apple store or other department stores though. They don't have cutting board. The bathroom is very small. It is too close to the next building.

I had never have an experience like this. the Hotel was creepy. My kids was scared.

Cleanliness and convenience. Bus stop very close. Balcony and kitchen. Very friendly and informative staff.

The staff and location was wonderful. Hotel was older but the maintenance personnel were always making improvements to make the surroundings look and feel inviting.

Very noisy, scary neighborhood, lock off door not locked, could hear neighbors and see their room lights, beautiful pool, friendly staff, room smelled of mildew or smoke

all the staff were very helpful. Convenient to beach, shopping. Tourist area so expect lots of folks.

It was the worse place I have stay on my life, they charge for every single thing including, WiFi, $ 9.00 dlls a day for that, coffee for you coffee maker is not included a $1.00 for a single serving, parking $20.00 a day. I will never come back to that place nor suggested to anybody .

Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The location was great for the price and a short walk to the beach, however if you are sensitive to noise, it's not going to work for you. You can hear everything happening on the streets below. The rooms were old and in need of a refresh. The shower had an old smell, bathroom had no fan or ventilation, and the sofa bed pull out was awful! Loved the microwave and fridge. We never used the stove though.

Nice place.Helpful, friendly staff. Only 6 min walk to the beach & right on the Bus lines. Would definitely stay there again

And the kitchen is a big plus, we used it for cooking breakfast, saved us lots of money and time!

I paid same price as Ala Moana which is a way cleaner and newer hotel last year,this hotel is only good for someone spent the entire day outside and just need a place to sleep, i will only pay no more than $50 per day but not close to $200.

The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location and price. Not very nice at all inside. The pool wasn't appealing at all.

I think it is good for stay but a little expensive for the period

........... PROS........... the staff was very nice and hospitable. Service was good and tried to accommodate all our requests (roll-away bed, extra sheets, iron and board, bottle opener). Location is great! Close to the beach, all major buses, shopping, restaurants, and sights .................... CONS ........... we had a 1BR suite, the couch in the living room was run down, old, and uncomfortable. our lanai (balcony) faced a parking garage. from the 2nd floor it was very, very noisy at night with trucks, buses, and rowdy people passing all night - making it hard to sleep. appliances and amenities are outdated and very basic. ........... SUMMARY............. if you are looking for comfort, peace & quiet, or R&R - this is not the place. If you are looking for an affordable place to crash while being close to everything, then its just right for that.

This was a large old unit. It smelled strongly of bleach. My pet peeve was trying to get our luggage into and out of the parking area, for which we were charged an additional $20.00. The elevator into the parking area was locked out, and we had to cart our luggage around the front of the unit. The hotel also demanded a credit card although the room was prepaid, and would not accept a cash deposit. Total cost was $240.00. I would not recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for 8 nights in January, 2013. The location is perfect, but the hotel is not very nice. The room smelled musty when we entered. The taps in the bathroom were so old and worn that you had to screw them shut very tightly to get the water to stop running. At one point, the toilet would not stop running. We put in a maintenance request, and they did attend to it promptly. The desk staff was very accommodating. You get what you pay for. This was a cheap way to stay in a convenient section of Waikiki. Also, our "suite" was really just a rather small hotel room with a tiny section devoted to kitchen appliances. It was definitely not a suite.

Hotel room was old and worn down Not properly maintained . The pool water was cold an not heated. It was clean enough and the location is very good. Close to canal and good shopping . Service got better after complaining about bad service. Learn to speak up and u will get better service. Close to Marriott courtyard where we enjoyed the improved atmosphere and great bar service. I would rate this hotel a one star as it had construction going on and we did get a discount in our room.

The parking is not at the hotel, but about a 2 minute walk. Pool is not great. We liked that the hotel was a studio with a mini kitchen but everything was outdated and not my idea of a clean standard for hotels.

Couldn't tell if the shower was old or dirty. Parking at the site was one way in and out and very close. Parking at the off site was a lot better and not far to walk to.

Price relative to the location was good. Room was small and worn but had good facilities. Same can be said for the hotel in general. I would recommend it to others.

we were on a 'working vacation' so weren't looking for a 5 star hotel, so this was an appropriate choice. Staff was friendly, great location, and nice ambience overall. But the hotel is a bit shabby, could use a good cleaning and a bit more attention from housekeeping staff. Bed comfortable, but shouldn't claim to sleep four as the 'sleeper sofas' are old and not conducive to sleep! We stacked 2 mattresses from adjoining rooms and then it was just ok.

i'm not terribly picky but it looked like an old outdated motel, and not on the best of streets. not dangerous but a bit of a dive. just glad we only had one night there.

Great location. Hotel very old and getting run down.

It may not be a 5 star hotel but the staff was helpful to the 9's! I left some clothes in the closet by accident and they wer kind enough to forward them on to me. Thank you!

The price and location are it's best features. It's just a few blocks to the beach and an even shorter walk to the main shopping street. The tour companies have a pick up location a block away. The kitchenettes are well equipped which was a big plus because food in that area is really expensive. The staff was friendly and able to answer any questions we had. We'd stay again.

The staff were great, great location, the rooms were descent. When I go back I will be deffenty be staying there! Two thumbs up!

Quite nice to have a kitchenette in room. Hotel is a bit older, but full of families and clean.

Castle Suites has definitely seen better days, but the price on Hotels.com was definitely the best value available. Seem to cater to groups who have arrived and need a night to stay before moving on to their resort, etc. The owners seem to be addressing some of the ongoing maintaince issues mentioned in previous reviews. The pool is open and beautiful with the tile turtles on the bottom, and surprisingly receives quite a bit of sun, even with the surrounding high rises. Room was clean and comfortable. Flat screen TV. Kitchenette could use a few more gadgets. Only complaints: the linens were thread bare and worn and showed evidence many cigarette holes, even though there is no smoking allowed at all. The room also had a very strong smoke smell, which did however dissipate with the air conditioning on. Parking expensive at $20/day, and you have to back out of the garage, as there is not enough room to turn around even the smallest of cars. Carpets appeared newer. Overall, nice location, adequate facility, at a bargain price. If you want 5 stars, you have to pay for it. But Castle Suites was just fine for us- Hey its Hawaii!!

Location was close to transport,abc store, walking distance to beach n international markets.Hotel needs an upgrade,My room was fine when there was no cirigette smell, the bed was comfyand roomy . Some hotel staff were really helpful,but i guess thats what you pay for.I would stay again only cause i was just there to sleep

The location was great, the hotel needs some updating, the 3 bedroom apartment was not the space we expected. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Booking agent at the hotel was great.

ROOM STINK! when we entered the room, we were really surprised by the smell -- just like a NEVER CLEANED KITCHEN. the towels in the bathroom appear DARK. the tiny closet-like shower place is dark when the curtain is closed. The sheets are dirty.... the only lucky part is we only stayed one night

I would stay again, staff was nice and took care of our needs. Was easy to go to wherever we needed from location of hotel

The hotel is situated in the waikiki area and a good place if u just want a place to crash in the night. A bit expensive, but cheaper than most hotels in the area, plus, parking is $20 per day. Room had no view to speak of other than looking into surrounding apts and hotels and they will only provide one coffee packet for free for your entire stay, you'll need to buy more for $1 each if needed. The carpet was a bit smelly. But the room had a nice small kitchen which is very convenient especially if u have a small child.

The hotel is good. We had one bedroom apartment, and were very pleased to stay. Good surrounding (shops, restaurants), but beach is not close to hotel.
