My family enjoyed our stay, ocean view was lovely, location was a little hected but guest service was excellent.

My experience at this "Resort" was one of annoyance and regret. The parking situation is a disaster. Getting in and out of the resort parking lots is a nightmare. The building is in pretty sub-par condition. Huge chunks of concrete and plaster have fallen away, and virtually nothing has been updated. The appliances located in the rooms are anywhere from 20 to 40 years old. The internet pictures look fabulous, but when you arrive, you immediately know that you have been fooled. I cannot stress enough: DO NOT BE FOOLED!!! Stay somewhere else.

our room was on the 12th floor and the room above us was being remodeled, starting between 7am and 8 am every morning and quitting between 11pm and midnight. Drilling, pounding and moving furniture or whatever was very annoying. not enough rest room facilities to use near beach area. when we booked in March we asked not to be above the 4th floor, they stuck us on the 12th floor. the refrigerator froze everything except stuff on the door. I turned the cooling level control and still froze everything .we knew there was no reason to ask for another room because when checking in another couple was complaining about their room on the first floor by the bar and a girl trying to sing and they were told sorry they could not change rooms. we can't imagine staying at the Sea Mist again. I have also told other friends about our stay..

ac units vents was covered with mole spurs...no one i was gonna to turn it on for my family to in-hale....please get cleaned!!!!

There is a lot better hotels but there are a lot worse. This is a nice hotel for a good price. We stayed for a week and had a great time. We enjoyed the beach and the shopping and all the fun things to do in myrtle beach. The room was clean and everything worked like it should. If we were looking to stay in the room the whole week and nit pic everything we would of rather stayed home. Don't listen to all the bad reviews on here. I've spent more on a motel 8. 96$ a night and right on the beach! Pretty good I think.

The resort was nothing like the pictures that were displayed. I was disappointed how the inside of the rooms looked. The mattress on the beds were worn out. I will not recommend this resort to anyone.

A++++++ this was our first time visiting myrtle beach and sea mist resort was a very nice place staff was very nice and helpful, room was clean and the view from the patio was beautiful. this was our very first official vacation to somewhere other than Gatlinburg TN and I must say we didn't want to leave. the price was just right and the experience will be memorable:))))))

I have stayed at this motel 3 times and I love it!!! It is very nice and the staff at check in is very helpful! It is very nice for children of all ages with the 1 ft kiddy pool!!!! My girls love it and so does mom!!!

I asked for a oceanfront room..and got a view of the pool..which disappointed us but the over all stay was great.

So many pools and fun stuff for kids. Great location. The beds aren't comfortable and there is little offered for adults. But, overall, a great place to take the kids.

I've booked ocean view room and found out that the room is actually on the first floor in front of the swimming pool. We could not open a curtain as all people can directly see everything in room. Its just couple of feet away from them. Talking about ocean view - I've to go to the extreme corner of the window to see a glimpse of the ocean, diagonally across...and to find the ocean in between trees and walls :( very dissatisfied as I paid extra bucks to get ocean view. Overall cleanliness was quite good and location was really nice. But I saw lots of other very good resorts while roaming on the narrow lanes of Myrtle beach. Compare to other resorts, this one is way too old and shabby.

The room was okay, clean, no issues or problems. The hallways and elevators were dirty. There was no signage for assistance as to where to find elevators, rooms, pools, etc.

Our "ocean view" we paid extra for was not quite what we expected. You had to lean over the balcony a little to see the tiny sliver of a view. The hotel seemed a little dated and run down. The floors were a little sandy but other than that, the room was clean. It was pretty loud at night- easily hear through the walls. The most uncomfortable beds/sheets I've ever slept in at a hotel. Could've been worse, but I wouldn't stay there again.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Front Desk for their outstanding service during our stay from May 27 through June 2. We were not satisfied with our original room and they went, as the expressions goes, above and beyond the call of duty to see that we were located in a room that meet our expectations. It is this type of service that ensures that we will visit the Sea Mist in the future.

Overall I enjoyed my stay. The rooms were not what I expected when I got there but they grew on me. The hotel is a little older and I wasn't too pleased that the A/C was by the restroom making it cold when you got out the shower and hot in the rooms. The hotel staff was great and the housekeeping service was outstanding in accommodating our needs. Overall I can't complain other than the view of the parking lot for an ocean side hotel. Not a romantic get away but very practical.

my room was very clean ..& some of the hotel staff was very nice. the elevators were horrible hundreds of people on vacation & only one elevator..other than that the trip was nice.

The room had a musty smell, the beds were hard,they did not clean out the microwave from the last guest or the freezer in the refrig. There was a dead roach by the door.

Toilet ran all the time, air conditioner didn't work. We didn't need air during the day, just at night since we were unable to open the doors due to all the smoking going on around us. Pools were nice and clean, biggest issue there was pool opened at 10, so did the pool cleaners, so you had to wait til 11 or 11:30 for them to finish one pool, every day. All the employees were very nice, always helpful. We enjoyed the arcade as well. I still won't be returning.

Our room was very conventient to the elevator for coming and going, especially with a 3 year old. Parking was a bit of a challenge at times but we managed. The room was very clean and the view was spactacular. We had a minor issue with the safe and was never able to use it but we managed without that as well. We would stay there again in the future.

It was vary pleasing.

At first they put us in an ocean view room on the second floor that didn't have an ocean view. That is, unless, you stepped out onto a strange common area cement slab and walked around the corner. Um, no! The best part about the beach for me is sitting on my balcony in the mornings and evenings and looking at the ocean. But they moved us immediately with no problems. The property is old and run down with some rooms and buildings being nicer than others. Our building was okay and our room was nice. The indoor pool at the Driftwood building is truly disgusting, be warned. The walls were moldly looking and really gross. We didn't stay long there and moved over into the outdoor waterpark even though it was raining outside. The outdoor water park and play area is very nice. So it's sort of hit or miss with this resort. I guess for the price it isn't too bad but next time I'll pay $20 more per night and have a property that is a little better maintained.

Ocean view means looking down the side of the hotel !! Charged a three dollar fee per person for using the little water park that is part of the hotel (crazy!)kids didn't care for it at all said it was boring !! Over all was not cared for and run down looking outside, inside was ok but beds are super small .. The elevators are small and creepy too !!Stayed at better for less in Myrtle beach !!

It wasn't the place i saw, i guess the place i saw was in north myrtle beach named the same..but it was okay, but my brother is scared of height we were on the 7th floor i also didn't know it was outdoor entrance to the room.the place i thought i was getting the water park was on the same side of the hotel and this was not it.this place is like a whole block just about.i will admit its an okay place if your going with friends and dont care what it looks like.

Hotel was old and in desperate need of maintenance and update. Room was clean, comfortable, everything worked. Check-in was confusing, it is across the street and there are several buildings that are part of the hotel. Friendly staff. Did not have enough on-site parking for the number of bikes that were there. A parking deck was available a block away.

Great place with pet but the balcony rails are to far apart for pets or children to be on

This was a nice hotel. We enjoyed our stay here the hotel like all others had it pros and cons though. Pro's- the room was clean, the beds were a little hard but comfortable, nice tv, great ocean front view, right at the water, on Saturday they provide a free movie for the guests in their theater room (ours was The Hunger Games) Con's- we saw a cockroach on the balcony next to us, the floor in the room was a little slippery, the balcony smelled like someone had vomited up in it and you could not smell the salty ocean air it was so bad. not much parking in front of the building and had to park in a parking garage a block away. But other than that it was a great hotel. Will consider staying here again!

It was a cluster when we got there. There is a ramp you have to pull into to check in which was full, finally get our room keys after about 10 mins, have to park @ the overflow & walk to our bldg. room key started with a 5 so assumed we were on the 5th floor, but turned out we were on 11th... For check out, we waited @ the reception area with nobody to help until we walked to the main bldg. did not like the customer service @ all. Will not stay here again.

Great hotel - Great location... We stayed in the Surf building.... couldn't see the sunrise, which was a bummer due to it benig too far back with the kid pool with Whales and Dinos between us and the ocean.... The water park cost $3 per person for the day and there is no getting out of the inner tubes in the lazy river and you need to walk all the way around the building to get to a pool that you can actually swim in .. which was a bit odd... for the price it was a great place to stay

I previously submitted a review and was sent an email saying they could not publish it. Why? because i spoke the truth. This hotel is convenient to the beach and gives access to choices to include indoor or outdoor pools and hot tubs, great beach access, downtown access and a small water park. Once again i will not lie to say that the personal services and contacts i had with check-in and other hotel staff was good. In fact it was disturbing, some were rude and others just seem to not care that i waited 4 hours to check into my room before receiving my keys and 1 1/2 hours after getting my key.

Loved the hotel and activities the only thing is check in is a little confusing. You have to check in in a diferent building but other than that great place - will definitely stay there again.

I'd stayed at Sea Mist 21 years ago when my oldest was a baby. Ocean view room was perfect. Tena's breakfast buffet is awesome. Cant feed young adult males for any more reasonable price!

Had an Ocean View room. The cleanliness of the room was great. Checking in was quick and painless. Not a luxury hotel but let's face it, you're not there to stay in the room when you go the beach. The Sea Mist does, however, have the best Lazy River of Myrtle Beach. Overall location is okay. Convenience of Denny's, IHOP, Papa Johns, and a few fast food joints around the corner was nice. Quick drive to other main attractions is convenient as well. Definitely stay here again.
