Excellent hotel in ideal location for all aspects of Athens. The staff were really helpful. The breakfasts were great and the views of the Parthenon from the restaurant did not disappoint. We made full use of the spa. Top marks. We will certainly be back.

Beautiful hotel,great location,free upgrade,staff extremely helpful.Could watch the changing of the Guard from our room! Within walking distance of the Old Town and the Acropolis.Breakfast worth it just for the views alone.

Very nice older hotel in great location. Only downsides were poor fitness facility and lack of ice machines. Room itself was an upgrade from my booking. Very nicely furnished with classic older furniture and marble bath. Breakfast was included and was terrific.

I and my family enjoyed the hotel service , from the minute we walked to check in , a very attentive staff well mannered , helpful and very cooperative , rooms were clean and beautiful , breakfast was shocking as compared with other hotels , full , rich , fresh and Huge and the main beautiful thing is the view of the Acropolis .

great time, good service, friendly staff

Incredible detail to service...e.g. -Because we left at 6:00 am. to catch the ferry to Mikonos and were not going to be at the hotel for breakfast, they prepared a box breakfast for us and had them waiting at the front desk when we hopped in the cab for the pier.

Stayed one night. Dinner in the dining room was a great experience. Breakfast buffet was out of this world. Great service. Great location. Would stay here again.

The guest services at this hotel are beyond incredible- everyone from the Concierge to the Desk Staff to the people in the Spa went out of their way to help me, a traveler who didn't have all of my plans organized figure out what I needed in terms of flights, sight-seeing and more. Athens is definitely not in the best place right now and if you're traveling there you absolutely need to stay in a secure, safe area like you will find at the King George Palace. I had a wonderful experience and this hotel is the reason why. The dinner is excellent, the breakfast is complimentary and varied and I got a wonderful spa treatment. Stay at this hotel if you head to Athens!

I was dissapointed with some but not all aspects of my stay.The room i was given did not have adequate desk space for working with a computer.The shower was over a bath tub which was difficult to get into and the shower is poorly positioned thus the water spills on the floor..Some of the staff at the front desk where unhelpfull.However the position is ideal and the breakfast on the 7th floor is very good with a good view of the Acropolis.The staff serving the breakfast were excellent.

I like almost everything about this hotel. I have stayed at the Grande Bretagne before (right next door) and chose King George this year because of the much lower rates. I would say that King George has almost everything the GB does except for the rooftop pool. Also, the toiletries were somewhat limited this year, but the staff cheerfuly brought more when I asked. Overall it was an excellent experience and a great deal.

Comfortable and efficient

After an exhausting tour of the Holy Land, the King George was a welcome piece of luxury. The entire stay was perfect but too short. The staff was customer driven and attentive. The location was perfect. (Yes, the picture is accurate--the view from the restaurant was outstanding.) Please, please: do not miss the spa/pool area in the basement. I felt like royalty in the marble and glass tile surroundings. In that area, the hotel provided fresh fruit, iced tea, slippers and bath robe. I have never commented on a hotel in the past---this is among the best in the world!!!

You only need 1 day to see Athens in the summer. It's crazy hot and the islands are where to go. Our stay was great. Great service and close the lots.

Room was excellent, All staff helpful Train right off corner to left as you exit hotel - goes right to airport. Plaka 5 min walk, mini trams available to take you around & up to to Acropolis there. Restaurant food delicious and reasonable.

Very friendly and accomadating. Beautiful.

Great reception. Beautiful views of the acropolis from the breakfast room. The room is furnished befitting a 5 star hotel with all the expected accoutrements. This hotel is well located to the major tourist sites in downtown Athens. I would stay here again and would. House this hotlel first after having stayed previously at several other hotels in Athens

As a family of 5, we had connecting rooms and enjoyed our 2 nights stay. The bathrooms were a little dated BUT very classy, special and oversized. Beds were super comfortable and has all the mod cons with solid furnishings. Very clean. The breakfast on the 7th floor was superb and couldn't ask for a better view of the Acropolis. Lounge and lobby undersell the rooms and fairly plain. Apart from bar prices thought very good value considering location at Parliament House and start of main shopping streets. Fantastic department store Antico also nearby. Would recommend and stay again.

Nice hotel but room was small. Would probably stay at the Grande Britiangna next time. However, absolutely love Hotels.com. Recommend it to everyone.

The King George Palace was the perfect hotel for our 2 night stay prior to taking a cruise from Athens. The location was excellent, central to all major sites. We walked to the various temples and to several stores and restaurants. The hotel itself was excellent. The rooms seemed large, by European standards and the hotel service was first class. However, the best part of the stay was the food in the hotel restaurant. We had dinner the first night, after nearly 20 hours of travel, and the food was magnificent. Sitting on the balcony, looking at the Acropolis at night, dining on the delicious food, was one of the best experiences in Athens. The daily breakfast was also terrific. Each morning, the buffet presented a wide variety of choices, and it was all excellent. In summation, the best thing I can say about this hotel is that we did not have to think about any issue with regard to our stay...it was all first class and all effortless on their part. We will stay here if ever in Athens again.

Seven year old son was ill with Norovirus all weekend, so we could not leave the room. Staff were superb. The only slight downside was the limited room service menu as we had to eat in the room all weekend. Probably more than sufficient if you are not confined to the room!!!

Beautiful and classy hotel, excellent service and staff. Breakfast is fantastic in restaurant overlooking the city and Ocropolis. Loction is what you want. Only small reservation though is the prices of evening meal are steep. we got excellent value for money. We highly recommend it.

Great location, room was very nice staff was friendly and helpful. The morning buffet breakfast is highly recommended; we didn't try the dinner menu but was told by other guests that it was outstanding.

The King George Palace Hotel was a welcome relief from a two week stay on a Greek island. This pristine hotel, offered top-notch service from an incredibly amiable and able staff. Seeing the Acropolis from our breakfast table was like a dream. Thank you.

This the second time we stayed in this Hotel and we were just as satisfied as the first time. We found the staff quite friedly, helpful and very accomodating with special requests. Our rate included breakfast and the variety was great. Restaurant prices are quite steep and not always posted, but its hard to beat the Acropolis view!

This is a great hotel that is very convenient in location for sightseeing in Athens. Service was excellent as was the price.

My wife and I recently stayed at the King George while in Athens and I would recommend this hotel for its' great location; excellent staff; and room comfort. A must would be to dine at The Tudor on the top floor of the King George. Its' staff too is excellent as well as the food. The views of The Acropolis afforded the guest dining on the terrace are outstanding. I give this hotel my best all around award!

Fab location, good service. Professional staff.

The location of this hotel is the best you can get and the rooms are clean and nice. The service is awkward at best. One Doorman was downright hostile. The pool closes at 6:00 pm on Sunday (bizarre) and we had just gotten back from the beach and couldn't swim in the pool. Questions were treated as though one had a lot of nerve to ask and offers of help were not forthcoming. People weren't rude-just aloof and indifferent.

Fremragende service, lækkert værelse og bad og gourmet morgenmad med fri uddsigt over byen. Kan ikke gøres bedre, og så til en rimelig pris.

We absolutely loved our stay at King George Palace. The staff was super friendly and helpful and there was simply not anything we could complain about. It's close to all sightings, to the tourist areas and the shopping streets. Minimum walking distance to subway and buses departing from Syntagma square. We will go there again for sure!

The hotel is just wonderful, the breakfast amazing along with the view from the restaurent, the service just perfect. This hotel has personality. BUT, don't take it for the outdoor swimmingpool they picture on the website because it is not there, it only belongs to a suite. Also don't take it for the fitness center which is tiny and not well equiped. These things probably explain why it is half the price of the hotel next door, but I would still take this one again for the wonderful breakfast

Stort set alt fungerede perfekt. Ved check-in dog et par skønhedsfejl, hvor standardværelse i stedet for classisk (som bestilt) blev anvist. Ellers alt andet upåklageligt. Specielt morgenbuffeten var fremragende.

Vi er sååå fornøyd, og kommer til å bruke dette hotellet igjen. Vi følte oss som prinsesser, og nøt hvert øyeblikk. De som jobber der er kjempefine mennesker, og alt er av høy klasse. Utsikten fra restauranten var superb. Kunne se Akropolis, og rett over gaten lå Palamentet. Prisen via Hotels.com var meget god. anbefales på det varmeste. Ha med pene klær. Marit og Helen

Vi hadde et fantastisk opphold. Vi ble oppgradert til junior suite. Rommet var helt fantastisk og alle som jobbet på hotellet var veldig profesjonelle og hyggelige. Hotellet er perfekt for deg som liker høy standard og komfort. Beliggenheten er dessuten ypperlig midt i Athen med alt av tilbud og severdigheter i umiddelbar nærhet. Besøk også baren til hotellet vegg-i-vegg Hotel Grand Bretagne: de serverer nydelige drinker og fantastisk Afternoon Tea :-))
