My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary and had such a romantic time staying at this hotel! The room had very modern décor, comfortable and chic. It's the little touches like bringing us cookies when we first checked in and deliciously strong coffee in the lobby that make all the difference. The hotel staff was extremely warm and hospitable. Especially the valet… he went above and beyond to ensure we were settled in. Even when he brought the car to us to leave, he left 2 bottles of water in the car for our long drive back to Boston. The location is amazing – we were able to walk everywhere and take bixi bikes to explore the city. Can't wait to come back to Montreal to stay here again.

The hotel and staff were very warm and welcoming. The room was clean and very comfortable. The hotel location was excellent, on the edge of Old Montreal and just a 4 short block walk from the Palais de Congres. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to Montreal!!!

it's a very cool, modern hotel in a great location in the old port of Montreal. the service is outstanding and made the stay truly enjoyable.

Poor service-Terrible breakfast-Not a 4 star service for sure

Very impressed by the Gault...friendly staff, stylish design, rooms are expansive and comfortable. Breakfast is very nice too, if a little expensive. There are some nice touches, like biscuits in your room when you arrive being asked if you would like a water upon check out. I would definitely return. The hotel is a lite hard to find at first...side street and then a small sign! But it's a real discovery. Schhh!

In Montreal for a long weekend of exploring the city on foot and eating our way through the simple to the sublime. Hotel Gault made for an excellent base of operations with a clean and modern aesthetic and friendly and attentive staff. We made good use of iDevice speaker dock, a comfortable bed, and well designed storage.

We decided to take a weekend away to enjoy old Montreal. I feel like we scored on the location and unique loft style room. The room could have been warmer in style terms (however was a loft). The service was impeccable! Yannic the consierge had maps, cans, and reso's before we could ask. He showed up out of nowhere just when he was needed - really quite impressive. The small gestures of bottled water in our car and personalized letters from the hotel really went a long way. Well worth the money spent.

Every time I go to Montreal, I try and stay at this hotel. The rooms are very spacious and quiet. The staff is very, very friendly and helpful. It's one of my favorite hotels because it's rather small, personalized service and very nice.

This hotel was amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was beautiful and the hotel itself had everything you could ask for. I would stay here again in a second

Excellent room, service in the bar for light dinner and location was very close to Victoria Square. There is construction of a building close by that results in noise in the morning and the room had no desk.

Welcoming and friendly service. Comfortable beds. Great location.

Excellent staff. Huge rooms that are a ergonomic disaster. Examples: A single, uncomfortable lounge chair instead of a loveseat/sofa and chair combination, which could easily fit into such a large space.So, where does a couple sit if they don't want to use the bed? And when ordering room service? The expansive floors call out for area carpets not carpet-tile over cement subfloor. One phone by bedside, but no desk phone! No info on hotel or the city in the room, just a single page of room service items but no alcohol list. Tiny garbage can in the WC instead of the bathroom. It is these small inconveniences that will prevent me from returning, the attentive, patient staff and quaint Old Montreal location notwithstanding.

chairs extremely uncomfortable in the room.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. The room was large and nicely appointed and we had a terrace which made for lovely breakfasting. I can't think of one downside to our stay, except maybe the breakfast was a bit overpriced. Also it was close to the old harbor, which is charming and near enough to walk to pretty much anywhere you wanted to go.

My spouse and I stayed for one night, as we were in town for dinner and the spa on the next day. The valet parking made it extremely easy to settle-in; check-in was fast and professional; we were escorted to our room (and were even told that we could use the Hotel's iPads if we required internet access). The room was great and beautiful, the music was pleasant, and the bed was extra comfy. We would go back any day!

I've traveled extensively for business and please for 20 years and stayed at all manor of hotels. Hotel Gault was an 100+ year old factory that's been renovated into a 30 room boutique in the heart of the old city. The transformation was done perfectly with a clean fresh feel while maintaining the character of the old building... The building was great, the bed, heated floors in the bath and shower... shower itself, all wonderful.. but none of this compared to the service... It's a small staff.. you see the same faces.. and I've never, ever, had better service.

Very enjoyable stay, the staff were extremely helpful and polite with great restaurant recommendations. I liked the design aesthetic of the room too. My only criticism was that I couldn't access wifi in my room or in the reception area. I understand this may be a common problem?

Loved hotel. This is the second time I stayed there. Room was different, much smaller, but appointed so well. I will recommend this to everyone staying in Montreal. Quite an oasis.

The hotel is beautiful. We loved the room and the location and also the staff. They were very friendly, helpfull and had a refined class about them but not pretentious. If you want a special place to stay in old Montreal this is a great option. The concern for most would be cost. Otherwise it is beautiful.

Overall great hotel - VERY friendly staff, nice rooms, great location. Only downsides are: the bathrooms are a bit open (no door to shower/lav area) so if you are a private person, this might not be for you. Also, floors are concrete which look great (and are heated in bath area), but if the person above has heels, you can hear it. Overall high marks, rooms are HUGE.

When you arrive at Hotel Gault, you wonder if you're at the right entrance since there is no one to greet you from outside or to help you open the door and go up the stairs with your luggage. But, as soon as you step in, the staff is so welcoming, and the service is impeccable. I also received a sweet treat in my room that was delicious! The room is very comfortable, and it is really quiet so you sleep very well. The room is simple and chic. No artwork... There are really nice restaurants in the neighbourhood, and the surrounding architecture is breathtaking! Overall great experience.

Excellent staff. The location is not quite in Old Town, which was a plus for us. It was a quick walk to Old Town and to the metro, which can take you anywhere in Montreal. Most well-oiled, able staff I've seen in a long time. Loved the whole experience.

My room was very comfortable. I would have been just a little happier if there was a desk instead of the large coffee-table, and if the light over the shaving mirror was brighter, but these are minor imperfections. The room was spacious, bed comfortable, air conditioner quiet, shower clean. The staff was very professional and made excellent restaurant recommendations. Within a reasonable walk of the convention center and old town. A relatively pricey place, but not a bad bargain for the comfort and service.

The one issues we had were that the room temp is centrally controlled unless you notify them in the morning while maintenance is around and the doors to the bathroom are a bit heavy / squeaky. That said we had a great stay, the staff is super friendly, the rooms are really nice (no carpets which was great for my allergies) and the hotel is very well kept. We will definitely be back.

The reception was extremely welcoming. Rooms were very modern and clean. Enjoyed my one night stay. great location. 2 min from St Paul st with lots of restaurants.

My husband and I decided to visit Old Montreal for a mini Honeymoon and we will be visiting hotel Gault again before September. The staff, the unique rooms and the decore was absolutely amazing! We were treated like royalty, we loved modern and vintage in one, Hotel Gault had it all! We like to Thank all of the staff for making our honeymoon feel so special :)

I travel to abt to abt 7 cities in Canada and the US every year and to montreal at least 3 times a year. I am frm NYC and this hotel has become one of my favorites period! The staff is amazing! Especially JC! Only one complain the room service menu & food is lacking and the soup i ordered was some odd sugary orange thing it was really just disgusting! Love the gratis water and coffee! Just love the hotel! Location is amazing! Great walk!

The concierge and the hotel staff were very courteous, attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The room decor and design was very modern and stylish. The rooms were much bigger compared to the regular fare of the commercial hotels.

Truly a perfect hotel for Old Town. It is not often that I provide "very satisfied" reviews but my experience was great.

Montreal was 15 below zero during our stay at the Gault. We were always so happy to return to the comfortable warmth and cozy ambience of hotel housed in that beautiful old facade .

Very pleasant stay, made so by a terrific staff, very helpful and friendly, good food, and a comfortable room.

The location in the Old City is creat - walking distance to everything there including excellet restos and 10-15 min walk to shopping @ St Catherine St. This is a hotel for those who don't require a ton of hand-holding by staff, but the staff is extremely accomodating. If you want the Ritz, go there, but hving stayed at all of the city's high-end hotels, we really enjoyed the change. The room was very spacious as was the bath. Try it, you'll like it. The pictures on the site are accurate. Enjoy!
