great hotel and room , clean and coasy nice crew ' hot pool and jaccuzi

This is a great no frills hotel. The staff is very friendly. The free wireless service worked well towards the reception area but not in the back of the hotel. They provided cables there for connection. The continental breakfast features homemade pastries from the famous local Dutch bakeries. Overall this is a convenient place to stay with great access to the 101. It requires a short drive or long walk to get into picturesque Solvang. The adjacent Pea Soup Anderson restaurant features better-than-average diner food.

The clerk that checked us in was outstanding in her personality and helpfulness. I don't understand why the hotel is only rated 2 stars, it should be a minimum of 3 stars. The only negative thing was the smell of the room when we first came in however was able to take care of that opening the window.

good and clean

We were pleasantly surprised at just how nice this hotel really is. Expecting just a place to stay, we had a very large room, found it remarkably clean including clean carpets and even wiped down patio furniture outside the sliding doors next to the pool. Shower had a soap dispenser on the wall. The continental breakfast was very nice in the central Gazebo at the pool with a person making sure everything was filled and tables cleaned. Although limited, to bread and pastries, they were brought in fresh. Had the best date-walnut muffin I ever had. There were also juices and fresh coffee. A pleasant stay.

We've stayed there each time we've been to the wine country of Los Olivos, and we'll definitely stay there again. The bed was so comfy that I didn't want to get up.

The walls are pretty thin...we could hear talking in the next room. And the ceiling is too thin...we were on the first floor and could hear every step on the floor above us.

We were given a corner room after I had written that we have small children, which was wonderful. We did not notice any noise problems at all, but it may be because the hotel wasn't full. The room was quite comfortable, the hot tub and pool were great, and our children even enoyed swing the golf clubs at the putting green. The continental breakfast was very light - danishes and muffins with juice and hot drinks - no fruit, yogurt or cereal. The only negatives I noticed were what looked like black mold in a crevice in the tub and in the sides of the pool.

If you are looking for a new modern hotel, look elsewhere! Old and historic are the words to describe this place. Don't think that we will return.

You pay for location with this motel. The rooms are dated and small with old carpet, furniture and amenities. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The placement of the swimming pool and putting green in the center of the courtyard is poorly thought out. The rooms that face toward the courtyard hear all the noise. Furthermore, the walls are very thin, so even when it is relatively quiet, you can hear every noise from neighboring rooms and outside. The breakfast is pathetic, just muffins and bread. For the price, this place is not worth it. The stay is not comfortable enough to warrant the price.

This motel is close to Solvang, our destination, and is the cheapest place to stay in the area. There are several other older motels near Pea Soup Anderson's, and they're all about the same vintage. The service folk were all very friendly, and we were checked in quickly. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The 3 stars out of 5 are for the fact that the walls are paper thin. Literally. We had the joy of listening to the conversation of the people below us (thankfully it was only conversation). I don't have any better recommendations (we've stayed in a few of these local motels) unless you want to pay significantly more to stay in Solvang proper. I'm just setting your expectations.

Staff VERY helpful and Very nice !

Despite the fact the walls are thin and you can hear people in adjacent rooms, our stay was perfect. Very nice staff, clean rooms, and perfect location.

I stayed here on a holiday weekend and needed a basic place to spend the night. Absolutely no issues with check in/check out. The room was clean and more spacious than I was expecting, and the pea soup the restaurant is famous for did not disappoint. Good water pressure in the shower. The only minor drawback was that the walls were a bit thin and let in some noise from the road out front and the room next door. But overall I was very satisfied and would stay here again.

Comfortable rooms at a very good location for visiting the surrounding areal

Good Budget Hotel.It was clean and conveniently located- close to Hwy 101 and Solvang.Beds were very comfortable and it had a nice bathroom.

Impressed with the hotels location and charm. Although it is an older property with thin walls, it was very clean both inside and around the property. Access to the restaurants in the immediate area was fantastic and easy to navigate to our final destination. I would recommend this location to all visiting the local area.

Hotel is in a great location not to busy. Restaurant is right next door easy to walk to and great food. Room and Hotel are in great condition. Staff is friendly. Great place to stay if visiting Solvang.

Overall, the motel was clean, centrally located for our needs, and the price was ok, however, the lady that checked us in needed a few lessons in customer service. I didn't feel she was that friendly almost rude, so we decided never to go there again. Customer service is very important to us.Sometimes you can ignore some of the other shortcomings of an establishment if you're treated with the utmost respects.

Hotel staff was very friendly. Room was pretty standard. Pea Soup restaurant and Ellen's Pancake House (across the street) were excellent.

Very clean & quite. It would have been nice if they offered local things to see & do in the area other than their restaurant. Great breakfast pastries.

We always stay at Pea Soup Andersen's Inn when we have business in the area. Friendly staff, clean rooms and a great restaurant with that famous Split Pea Soup (also discovered they have a killer hamburger!!)

Pleasant, easily accessible to Lompoc and Solvang. Room had thin walls, and were next to the staircase which got a bit noisy at times. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was very clean, nice flat screen tv. There is a Jaccuzi and pool, and free putting green. The continental breakfast could use a little more diversity. Pastries, coffee, juices and toast was all that was served. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free computer use in lobby and free printing. Would stay again!

It was a very comfortable bed and the room was pretty large. We only used it as a stopover, and the rate was very good.

nice place. staff was friendly. would stay there again. we went up wine tasting and it was a very central place. easy to get to. a few wonderful restaurants in the area. close to solvang. easy access to the 101. two thumbs up

This was my second time staying at Pea Soup Anderson. Rooms are neat and clean, but nothing special. Walls are a bit thin, but nothing beyond the norm. Location and price are the best things going for the hotel. Convenient to a lot of good restaurants and of course, the wine. Would recommend and/or stay here again.

Older rooms, bathrooms are clean, but need the grout and tile scrubbed or just redone. Water was never very hot. Breakfast is only toast and muffins, nothing warm or fruit.
