Motel In The Pines - Munds Park

On graduation weekend we couldn't get anything under 120.00 a night. This motel work just fine for a place to sleep after a long day. Nice rooms and the staff were helpful.

Comfortable, standard motel near the road. The friendly hostess. Clean air, a wonderful pine forest. Good price.

We found the service was very good,room was clean easy on and off highway

Not as close to slide rock as we expected or Sedona. But adequate.

Older decor - (70's? 80's?), rooms are small, and I had trouble finding mine. (Numbering system and hotel layout was confusing).There was only 1 working outlet in the room that was not completely occupied by other devices. (It was in the bathroom) so work/laptop plug in was about out. This is a vacation hotel, not a business stop over. Staff were extremely friendly. I was disappointed that there was no Iron, no Coffee maker in the room. Satellite TV worked 'OK' but kept going in and out. WiFi was available, and I wasn't able to access it. The beds were comfortable though and the room served my primary purpose - sleep.

This was perfect of what we did. Grand Canyon one day with a stop at Beaver Street Brew Pub for dinner and the next day took 89A down to Sedona. Great price for just needing a place to sleep.

This is a nice place to stay. Would not pay more than the 50.00 per night. Beds are comfy and room was fairly clean. Some maintenance work is needed on the place (example: shower faucet was off) but over all it was a pleasant experience.

Right...I suppose it it not the motel's fault, but when you search for "Sedona", this motel comes up as being 8.1 miles away. It isn't (unless you drive an off-roader...) - it is 40 miles away and 50 minutes drive. So just be aware if you are looking for Sedona accommodation on a budget! The motel is a solid, older style motel. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The wifi was not working when we visited which was a nuisance. Service was not good - both times I went to reception the woman there was on the phone chatting to friends before speaking to me (she didn't end the calls just put them on hold while talking to me!). But, overall, a reasonable, cheap, clean motel, a good place to get a decent night's sleep.

This really inexpensive hotel was great. I got in quite late, but the owner came out and was super helpful, making sure I got in my room okay. This hotel is not fancy, but basic is always good. It was right off the highway and the owner was again really nice and helpful in the morning.

Door was stuck closed, we had to struggle to get in. Bathroom ceiling was leaking from the upstairs room. The old tube tv had horrible faded coloring and the kitchen was mangy. Overall it's not expensive but it needs maintenance. ..

Room was clean and basic but no fridge as i am an insulin dependant diabetic i asked at the office if they would put my insulin into a fridge to keep it in a useable condition the reply was " for an extra $40 a night we could be upgraded to a better room with a fridge " as we were there for 3 nights this was not an option for us have to say that this is the first time ever that i have met with this reaction

It's ok if you simply need a cheap bed for the night.

When we arrived, it took 15 minutes of ringing the front desk bell and knocking on the trailer door next to the hotel before anyone would come check us in. The room itself was not bad, but the handle on the shower was detached and just laying on the side of the tub. The advertisement promised wifi - nonexistent. I lost two days' work because I couldn't connect to anything at all. The beds were not made the next day, and the coffee wasn't restocked. Lovely area - deeply disappointing stay.

Good value for the price. Owners were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated. The fireplace (and wood) was a bonus!

well worth $50 for a quiet comfortable stay close to Flastaff, but away from the traffic and train whistles.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We satyed two nights. We had to do shopping and other chores in Flagstaff, but wanted to relax during the evenings. Our room had a fireplace and a small balcony. It was nice to sit in front of the fire, sipping wine and listening to some nice music; or to start the fire early morning and climb back in to bed.The couple running the motel were very nice and everytime we saw them they would ask if there was anything they could do for us. The older gentleman chopped and brought wood to us both nights (we were on the second floor). Our room was large.The furniture is not brand new, but that was okay. The patio furniture could be updated though. The bed was pleasant enough and the pillows were good. We have plans to go back.

We've stayed here 3 times over the past 5 years. Beds are more comfortable than in the past but hotel could continue to be spruced up a little. Beautiful setting; take in the sunset just south on I-17 at the scenic overlook. You have to go to Flagstaff or Sedona if you want anything other than convenience store supplies. Motel is old but clean. If you confuse old for dirty you will likely be disappointed in this motel. My only complaint is the Wi-Fi didn't work during our entire 5 day stay. I had to pay for a Verizon Hotspot which negated the cost savings this trip. DO NOT book this hotel if you need Wi-Fi. I believe Hotels.com should eliminate Wi-Fi from the amenities list of this hotel.

This was only an over night stay for us, but it was very pleasent and we would recommend this hotel to other travelers.

We loved the scenery, it was clean, comfortable. It was reasonable and we will return to that location.

While thinking of a perfect get away in Sedona for my girlfriend and I.I stumbled upon this Motel, and thought this could be fun,. I called to verify our mini Suite with fire place, and the Owners were TOP NOTCH. I expressed how I wanted to have something special in the room for my girlfriend and Management went above and beyond. They treated us as if we were royalty. They went above and beyond any expectation I could have had. My girlfriends face when we walked in went from happy, to complete awe. It was a priceless moment, and made it all mean so much more to me. It was our first time taking a trip together, and I truly wanted it to be perfect. Lorna and Sam are the nicest people. the morning we checked out, we went across the street for gas, as we were getting ready to pull away... Sam had ran all the way across the street to inform us that my girlfriend and I had left some personal belongings behind. He said they had it all ready for us at the office. Wow talk about service... I have stayed in some very expensive hotels in the past, but none can compare to the quality of service that Motel in the pines offers. If you're looking for a place to get away, enjoy nature, and just enjoy something different...then stay here..Thank you Lorna and Sam , I will be sure to spread the word.

This hotel is very cheap, but the overall quality of the room we had was similar to a much more expensive motel as Motel 6 or even Travellodge. The room was clean and felt clean and the air conditioning was good. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere though, and Munds Park isn't a very exciting city (mildly put). A very big minus was that there was no WiFi at all even though it was advertised on Hotels.com. They explained that internet "out here" isn't reliable. We accepted it without complaints as the price was so low.

Place was nice. Owners were friendly and helpful. I had read some reviews about this place before choosing. I loved the location, right off the highway. Couple stores and a bar/resteraunt easy walking distance. Clean rooms. We got the deluxe with the outside patio, which was ground level and nice view of the woods. Only downsides, the wi-fi was out, owners apologized and explained some critters had been chewing on some wires. And the bathroom towels are indeed kind of small, but just ask for extra and things are fine. I will stay here again on my next visit to the area, I prefer small mom and pop kind of places to stay as opposed to national chains, and this place was a pleasant surprise.

I went with some friend for the weekend and the hotel is great I was scared because of the price but its a family owned motel. Its worth it very nice location and you can have a great time!! And everyone was very friendly!!

It's a family owned motel so everyone is so friendly. Raccoons chewed threw main line so there wasn't WiFi or tv but we went up to get away from all that so it was perfectly fine. We will always stay at Motel in the Pines when we go up North.

We were wondering why it was so inexpensive to stay there. It was old,run down & not maintained properly. This place needs a big overhaul.

My family and I wanted to get out of Phoenix to play in the snow. Motel in the Pines was perfect for our one night stay. My only complaint is the beds were a bit uncomfortable so I wouldn't be able to stay for an extended amount of time. It was clean, location was great, they allowed early check in and the staff was very friendly. Oh and the rates were GREAT! So all in all I can't complain :)

VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO MAKE SURE WE HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. WE WOULD SURE STAY AGAIN. A VERY NICE EXPERIENCE AT A BUDGET PRICE.

It's a twenty minute drive to Flagstaff.

This hotel went through a management change. It is now run by a family. Such care and service shows in the improvement of this hotel based on past reviews. this is NOT the same hotel! A very "down-home" feeling permeates throughout. The owners are caring and attentive. I slept well here!

It was fine. But it's dated...If you just want a clean bed for the night it's fine. An extended stay would be a challenge.

Everything was ok, other than the restroom door, would have to fight with the sliding door to close bathroom door. Not happy at all!

The room was supposed to be a non-smoking room but we had to keep the doors open most of the time to air out the room. Also, the bath towels were very thin and not very large. Ok size for small children but not for adults. My T-shirt was a thicker material then the bath towels. The shower handle was missing so all we had to control water on/off and temperature was a thin valve stem that stuck out where the handle originally connected. The coffee pot was a bit dirty and thus we dared not to use the coffee pot. Room service consisted of changing out the bath towels and emptying the trash can. The Kleenex box never got replaced after it was empty. The pocket door to the bath and shower room was off its track and thus trying to close or open the door was a challenge. Good things, the room was very large, the back patio was nice but it would have been nicer if there was a screen door to keep unwanted flying bugs out. The small refrigerator, microwave oven, and coffee pot (if keep cleaned) were nice additions. Beds were OK, not something I would want to sleep on for more than a weekend.

I LOVE the location, the people running the motel, the beds are so clean and it is quiet here. The pines are beautiful and Flagstaff and Sedona are close by. The rates are affordable and everything I need is nearby yet not right on top of me. I plan on coming here about once a month and I love it! Thank you!

The hotel was easily located on route 17.Sam and his wife were great hosts and very helpful. We did enjoy are stay there. Ed and laurella
