Hotel Beethoven Wien - וינה

We had nothing but praise for this hotel - except that the elevator was a tad tiny. Apart from that, it is situated in a great area for variety of food restaurants and an easy walk to the Opera and shops.

Generous room size, very quiet at night, comfortable bed and pillows, excellent breakfast with a huge selection, English speaking staff. Every tiny detail has been considered in this hotel, a great deal of thought has been put into customer care and comfort. The decor is slightly dated but the service and comfort more than make up for it. The location is fantastic with all the main attractions within walking distance. I would highly reccomend this hotel.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. Hotel was old, but had charm. Breakfast was good and there was coffee or tea all day. I would definitely stay here again, as the market was a block away with lots of restaurants, and also close to the subway.

The hotel is in a central location, just steps away from the Vienna Theater and the Nachsmarkt for late night eating galore. The famous Cafe Museum is open late for soup and snacks. There are tons of restaurants nearby and the famous Vienna opera house is just 2 blocks away where you can watch a full opera with standing room tickets at only 4€, a little tiring to stand for 3 hrs, but how convenient to have a hotel room just 2 blocks away! Albertina, the museum quarter with all the famous works of art, music and 7,000 years of crowned jewels, the Belvedere Palace that stores Gustav Klimt are all just a few blocks or tram stops away. The world famous Secession is right at Karlplatz Ubahn station, from which you can travel directly to Schönbrunn Palace on one line. St Stephan's Cathedral and the city center is 10 mins walking distance past the Opera house. Aside from the perfect location, we received a warm welcome upon arrival by the wonderful reception staff. There is WiFi on each floor. Our room was small with 2 twin beds and nice view of the street. My friend changed to a single room which was much nicer with large double bed and red velvet decoration. The rooms were worth every penny. The hotel was charming and we were surprised at the beautiful setup for breakfast. We could have sat in the breakfast room for hours but had too much sightseeing on our schedule. The staff, level of service, comfort of the rooms made for a wonderful wknd and tour of Vienna.

The Hotel was fantastic in many ways. The location next to the market and close to the Opera house and Succession building provided a very central location for the activities we were interested in and right next to the underground rail system. The hotel provided quality service with an excellent breakfast and a high quality small intimate concert on the Sunday night, including a complimentary glass of champagne. We could not find any fault with the hotel which is in a very quiet street. No noise at all. Would recommend it highly for your stay

This was a wonderful hotel. It had everything we wanted. It is small, modern and the location is absolutely perfect. It is located on a small quiet side street where maybe 10 cars travel. It is a half a block from the main market in the city where food and many restaurants are located. It is a very short walk to all the sights of the city. It is as good a place as one could have if you like small intimate hotels. The breakfasts were excellent and included in the price of the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful in getting us tours and restaurants. In all I grade this place a true 5 stars.

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel in September. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless clean, albeit bedrooms are on the small side, they are very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, buffet style with a lot of options to choose from. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel is very centrally located, most of the sites are between walking distance and it’s close to transportation (U-bahn and tram ). The hotel is on a back street, very quiet at night for a peaceful rest. We highly recommend this hotel.

Large and nice room with a great bath and comfortable beds. It had everything I was looking for in downtown hotel. Breakfast was very nice on the second floor with the large bright windows. Staff was very helpful.We like the hotel so much we stayed another night. Highly recommended, good value.

We were very pleased with our two separate stays at the Hotel Beethovan (at the beginning and end of our Eastern European tour). The location is excellent, a block from the Market, two blocks from a Metro stop, and an easy ten minute walk to the Opera House. The staff was very friendly and helpful with restuaurant recommendations. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and we appreciated the free Wifi. But the best part of all was the breakfast, which is truly outstanding. On our last night, we had to leave at 4am to catch an early flight and missed breakfast, but the staff generously provided us with coffee and a bag of breakfast treats to take with to the airport. We're happy to recommend this hotel.

Hotel is in the center of the old city close to State Opera and museums. Staff was very helpful and breakfast was great.

Reception clerks very friendly and helpful. We'd recommend you without reservation.

Should be rated lower

We were so pleasantly surprised by the convenient location and comfort level of this hotel. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a larger room, which was great -- roomy, well furnished, and spotless. Breakfast was included in our room rate, and it was excellent, including eggs and other non-standard "Continental breakfast" fare. Karlsplatz is just a block away, with a subway station and pretty views. We would absolutely return to this hotel.

Loved this hotel. Quiet location and the staff is friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. And it is within walking distance of so many of Vienna's prime cultural attractions: the State Opera, the Musikverein, the MuseumsQuartier, and on and on.

The staff are pleasant and helpful. The hotel is in the city centre but off the beaten path, so very quiet. Great for couples.

The Hotel Beethoven is located in an easy to find quiet road near to the Karlsplatz u-bahn station. Exceptional in every area of comfort, cleanliness and charming hotel staff. Breakfast was of a high quality with a mammoth range of items to eat and drink. The opera house is just a 5 minute walk away and other places of interest were easily accessible. A brilliant choice for our stay in Vienna.

Coming after a very ordinary stay in Paris, this hotel was like paradise. The bed and room were so comfortable. Friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. Perfect wifi. Excellent tv with extensive range of cable channels. Not in old town city centre but incredibly close to walk there. Very close to walk to the opera house.

Great location, great breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful place to stay. We were pleasantly surprised with its location - close to downtown and the major sights. The Naschmarkt is practically across the street. Being behind the Theater an der Wien meant that the street was very quiet. The hotel itself was clean; the staff was friendly and helpful. One of the things we enjoyed the most was the extensive breakfast buffet. The selection was varied and very fresh. The room was spacious and the bathroom was huge by European standards. We plan to stay there again whenever we return to Vienna.

A wonderful hotel, with a nice touch of class. It's minutes away from the central sightseeing spots, hidden way from the noisy streets. Beautifully designed interior. Great service. A special bonus: free ticket to a central museum. Tickets for transportation sold at the front desk. The lounge with free tea/coffee has a great view, but coffee could be better (the morning breakfast has wonderful coffee, though). A "warm and fuzzy" general feeling after staying at this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in Jan 2012. The room was nice but needs some updating; bed was comfortable and warm. The hotel staff were helpful and accommodating of our requests. The best thing about the hotel is the breakfast--it was spectacular! As for location, it is right next to the Naschmarkt, a food-lover's paradise! It is also close to the Opera House and other sites. We walked everywhere within the inner circle and never used the public trans and had a great time! The reasons why I didn't give it ratings of 5 is due to the quality of the rooms (though they weren't bad at all, just not 5-star), the lack of a wellness center, and the price wasn't exactly cheap either. Still pleased with the hotel though and would recommend it.

We stayed in the Hotel Beethoven in Vienna for five nights over the New Year. Very comfortable warm room, beautiful bathroom. Excellent breakfast - Staff very efficient both in the dining room and in reception. Their recommendations for restaurants was also very good.

This was a reasonably priced very nice hotel. Close to the subway station and within walking distance to downtown (St. Stephens Cathedral) actually to the entire ring area. The daily free breakfast buffet was fabulous (a real breakfast). The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.

We were very satisfied with our stay. The room was trendy, the beds were comfortable, and the location was a perfect walk to the main sites. The morning breakfast with espresso was a great start to our days there.

The hotel is in a great location, close to museums, concert halls, good restaurants, etc. The staff was outstanding, helpful above and beyond the call of duty. The new decor, besides being downright un-aesthetic was already showing signs of wear. The designers neglected to consider ease of use, comfort, proper lighting and appropriate type of fixtures. They definitely did not consider ease of use and cost of maintenance. The overall control of lighting with the room access card caused all electronic devices to stop, including the clock, when exiting the room. Only one small chair and table in the room were insufficient. Otherwise the hotel met our needs.

The hotel is just about 200m from the subway, only one stop from Stephansdom and just 100m away from the Nasch marketi. Rooms were very clean and the breakfast was excellent. Staff is ver friendly. Woud stay there again next time.

We stayed here in October for two nights. Lovely hotel with very helpful staff. Good breakfast. We stayed on the second floor and the only complaint we had was that the hallway smelled of smoke. Then again, that is a complaint of the whole city! Definitely recommend the hotel.

We picked hotel for its location only as we had rented apt around the corner the week before & just needed a place to sleep for 5 hours before being picked up for transport to airport for early morning flight. Neighborhood is close to Karlplatz U station, Nashmarkt and Secession. Our room was tiny and set up funny. We both stubbed our toe on corner of bed as no room to move past. Also carpets were filthy in room & hallway of 3rd floor. Bed was okay but pillows not at all comfortable. The worst part was live TICK found crawling along side of shower at 2:30 am when we arose to bath & leave Vienna. I was so grossed out, my skin crawled! I'm hoping one didn't sneak his chubby buttocks into my suitcase and stow away back to the States. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.

Well located. About 10mins to metro trains. A very handy eating area approx 250m from hotel. Parking for this hotel approx 10 mins away unless you are lucky enough to find a place in the street. You are able to stop right outside the front doors to speak with reception to make more permanent arrangements. Great breakfast selection. Staff helpful with tourist info. Rooms clean and quite spacious.

My husband, my son and myself were very pleased staying in the hotel. For my son was his second time. The enviroment is very familiar. All staff was very attentive and friendly. We really are looking forward to go back some day.

Very nice hotel. Beautiful room and public areas. The mezzanine tea room was a unique and pleasing feature, as were the wash cloths, rare in any European hotel. The staff was exceedinly helpful. Excellent location for tourists Near opera house and metro, two stops from center. Highly recommended.
