Athens Gate Hotel - אתונה

מכיוון שהתוכנית העיקרית שלנו הייתה לבקר במוזיאון Acropolis החדש, המלון Athens Gate התאים בדיוק לצרכים שלנו. העובדה שהריסות Temple of Olympian zeus היו מצידו השני של החלון שלנו היה בונוס. אנחנו מצאנו שהצוות יעיל למדיי, לעיתים קרובות מתאמצים במיוחד לענות לכל הצרכים שלנו, בין אם זה למצוא בית מרקחת פתוח בערב, להתקשר למונית או לתת לנו מידע תיירותי. ארוחת הבוקר הייתה מצוינת גם היא, גם בכמות וגם באיכות. והעובדה שהיא הוגשה בחדר במסעדה/בר אטרקטיבי הממוקם בגג (אשר משקיפים על Acropolis ו Parthenon) הוסיפה המון לחוויית האוכל. אני ללא ספק אמליץ על מלון Athens Gate לחברים וגם אשאר שם שוב בביקורים בעתיד.

המיקום פנטסטי, בדיוק ליד האקרופוליס וקרוב לרכבת התחתית שמאפשרת גישה לכל העיר. צוות הקבלה היה מאוד מועיל ועזר לי להתמצא. האוכל במסעדה על הגג היה ממש טוב. חשבתי שאנסה אותה רק פעם אחת, אבל חזרתי שוב ושוב. לדעתי התמורה למחיר הייתה מצוינת. בעיה קטנה: האינטרנט האלחוטי בחדר לא עבד, אבל הייתה עמדת אינטרנט חינמית בלובי, שהיתה תמיד פנויה כשהייתי שם (בפברואר).

ה- Athens Gate הוא אופציה נפלאה לשהייה באתונה: הליכה (ונשיאת מזוודות) קלה מתחנת הרכבת התחתית Acropolis, מרחקי הליכה קצרים מאתרי תיירות מרכזיים, נופים נהדרים מהחדרים וממסעדת גג (בה מוגשת ארוחת בוקר הכלולה במחיר). צוות המלון אדיב והתמורה למחיר נהדרת. אם צריך אינטרנט, אפשר לקנות מהם כרטיס גישה ל-Wi-Fi (במקום לשלם 5 יורו ליום) בכמות לבחירתך- קל ונוח. החדרים פשוטים אבל מעוצבים בטוב טעם ושקטים מאוד. המלון הזה יהיה הבחירה הראשונה שלי בפעם הבאה שאבקר באתונה. שילוב טוב בין נוחות, מיקום ותמורה.

מיקום מצוין במרכז אתונה. בדיוק מצידו השני של הרחוב מ Temple of Zeus. למסעדה יש נוף משגע של כל העיר והגבעות של אתונה. הצוות מאוד קשוב ועוזר. כמה דקות הליכה מתחנת המטרו (Acropolis). החדרים היו קטנים אך מסודרים. המלון הזה טוב לכל מי שמבקר באתונה. אני ממליץ על המלון הזה בחום ואני דיי בררן בדרישות.

מלון מעולה - מיקום מעולה, במיוחד תמורת המחיר. הצוות היה נחמד מאוד ומארח מאוד. בהחלט שנשהה שם שוב!

נוף מעולה של האקרופוליס ממסעדת ארוחת הבוקר שעל הגג. שירות מעולה על ידי סטלה מדלפק הקבלה, חברת התעופה איבדה את התקים שלנו והיא המשיכה לטלפן אליהם בזמן שיצאנו לארוחת ערב מעולה במסעדת Daphne's הקרובה.

מיקום מצוין, צוות ידידותי ונוף מעולה מהמסעדה/בר/גינה שעל הגג. אין צורך בתחבורה ציבורית, מיקום מאוד מרכזי.

מלון מעולה. במרכז הכול. נוף מעולה של האקרופוליס ממרפסת ארוחת הערב שעל גג ההבניין.

המלון במיקום מושלם. מהטרסה שעל הגג (בר ומסעדה), אפשר לראות את האקרופוליס, Parliament ו - Temple of Zeus. הנוף הטוב ביותר של אתונה בעיר! המלון נקי וידידותי בצורה קיצונית. החדר שלנו היה בקומה החמישית והיה בו מרפסת שמשקיפה לעבר The Temple of Zeus! נהדר בלילה! ארוחת בוקר מדהימה! מבחר כל כך גדול ולשבת על המרפסת שעל גג הבניין זו דרך מושלמת להתחיל את היום. המוניות תכננו לשבות ביום בו עזבנו אז הם ארגנו שמכונית פרטית תאסוף אותנו ואפילו הכינו לנו ארוחת בוקר לקחת לדרך, וזה היה ב 4:30 בבוקר! הלכנו דרך כל ה - Plaka - לא צריך מכונית ברגע שראיתם את כל הדברים הארכיטקטוריים שיש לראות. ממש מעבר לפינה מה - Acropolis Museum, שדרך אגב ממש נפלא! הדבר יחיד שניתן לשיפור זה המזרון והכריות! שניהם היו קצת קשים, אבל הנוף והצוות פיצו על כל החסרונות. בהחלט שאשהה כאן שוב.

Great hotel, nice breakfast, and the best aspect was the location. Can't beat where it is. Staff was helpful in choosing a restaurant nearby.

I was very impress with the customer service as soon as I arrived at Athens Gate Hotel. To receive a cold glass of water and Greek candy was a very welcoming touch. The Hotel was expecting me and laid out the red carpet for my birthday stay by providing special treats in my room and also upgrading me to a amazing view room. Upon leaving, they had coffee waiting for me in the lobby and because I had a early flight, a bag of breakfast goodies was for me as well. The Hotel is a very short distance to walking to everything in the Plaka shopping/restaurant area. It's tough to know what type of Hotel you will get when you book something online. Needless to say, I selected a FANTASTIC choice! I will surely come back to this hotel and will share it with everyone I know who is visiting Athens Greece!

Very comfortable quiet inner room, no view, very clean, comfy twin beds and good air conditioning. There is a spectacular view of the Acropolis and Temple of Zeus from the roof garden. The only free wifi is on roof garden otherwise the charge is 14 eu a day per person, and for me that presents a big problem. Especially when a little gyros stand down the street offers free wifi! But they do include a full American breakfast which was excellent. Without wifi free in room though I don't know that i would stay there again.

A postive experience. Nice staff. Clean rooms. Nice rooftop bar with great views. Extremely well located to Acropolis, Plaka, Monisteraki, and other cool neighborhoods.

Overall it was a great stay, recommend getting a room on the Acropolis side, better view and less traffic noise.

Hotel was easy to get to - very close to metro. There was a mix up when we arrived - we were put in a double when my booking was for a twin room - but they quickly resolved that and upgraded us to a better room at no cost. In general the staff were extremely helpful and reception provided lots of good information when we needed it, although we were a little disappointed with some of their restaurant recommendations. Breakfast selection was great. Easy to get to all the main sights from here. All in all a good trip.

Athens Gate was convenient to most of the important sites in Athens, and if you needed the Metro, it was only a couple of blocks away. I would be hesitant to try to approach it by Metro with a suitcase the first time, because it's a little hard to find that first time. After that, it's great. Breakfast was excellent every day.

Fantastic location. Lovely hotel and restaurant on top floor. Stayed in superior room facing the acropolis. Huge balcony. very helpful staff. We stayed there for New Year's Eve and watched the fireworks over the acropolis.. Was much better than I had expected. Very handy location for tourist type exploring. Would happily stay there again if back in Athens.

Excellent stay in a terrific hotel. Greeted on arrival with water and Turkish Delight, the entire staff were highly professional, helpful and pleasant in every way. Excellent value for money and with one of the best breakfast views in the world - the Acropolis right in front of you!

It was just an overnight stay but we still had time to see some of the sights. You can walk across the street to the park. We had a room with a spectacular view, and from the breakfast room on the top floor it’s even better. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends, it was great!

Wonderful and most convenient. I did not want for anything and the hotel staff was more than accommodating.

Hotel great - city a mess. Perfect location- English speaking- rooms largish for Greece- view unbeatable- beds a bit hard- breakfast wonderful- enjoy the roof top view for an evening drink but skip dinner here and hit the street- provided there is not a strike going on- the major drawback for Athens- hard to really like a city with no taxis, buses, trains, tear gas in the streets and air traffic controllers on strike too! Will Never do Greece again. Athens Gate did do much to help- in fact they were impressive in how they assisted- but they are a small calm island in a very broken system.

I think I have never felt luckier picking a hotel than with Athens Gate. The staff was friendly and anxious to please, whether providing directions or providing necessary converters. And the views from the 8th floor Roof Garden of the Acropolis and the Temple of Zeus are inspiring. The highest rating just isn't high enough to describe our satisfaction.

We have stayed in many hotels in many countries and have experienced none better than the Athens Gate. Outstanding breakfast (both wide choice and top quality) and friendly, knowledgeable and responsive staff, including when taxis went on strike and the Athens Gate staff arranged transportation to the port for a very reasonable price.

WE HAD A GREAT START TO OUR VACATION STAYING AT ATHENS GATE. OUR ROOM OVERLOOKED THE ACROPOLIS. IT WAS JUST AROUND THE CORNER FROM THE HOTEL. PLAKA WAS TWO BLOCKS OVER. SERVICE GREAT AND HAVING DINNER AND BREAKFAST THE NEXT DAY (INCLUDED IN PRICE) OVERLOOKING ZEUS AND THE CITY OF ATHENS MAGICAL.

Very well satisfied with the service and attention of the staff. Room facilities were excellent and well maintained.

The view from the rooftop patio is amazing. Three hours of free internet while you take in the sights of Athens. Wonderful!

I found the Athens Gate to be in the best location for everything. The room was in excellent condition, and very clean. All the amenities were available. The decor of the hotel was tasteful and pleasingly understated. The breakfast was very good and our evening meal was terrific. All the staff were helpful and friendly. I will definitely book there the next time I go to Athens

Very pleasantly surprised. Within walking distance to all must see sights of Athens. Rooms either have a view of the Acropolis or the Temple of Zeus right across the street. The top floor is a Roof Garden restaurant with the best inside/outside seating for a very romantic dinner or just wine drinking. Very pleasant and attentive staff both at the reception and roof garden. As an example, I would go up to the Roof Garden to check emails (free Wi-Fi0 and a waiter would bring me a glass of water without any expectation of having to order anything. Mainly english speaking guests. Recommend without any reservation.

Athens Gate is located one block from entry to Plaka, walking distance to Acropolis, half a block to hop on-hop off bus. Staff and rooms were great. Elevator leaves a bit to be desired as only holds 4 people. Restaurant at top has great view but food leaves a lot to be desired. Go for drink and snacks, not dinner.

Great view.... great hotel and people! We had an A/C issue and could not have been treated more nicely!

walking distance to a ton of main attractions with great views of temple of zeus and the parthenon. service was great at reception and the upstairs hotel. highly recommend this place.

This was a 4-5 star hotel in Athens across from the Temple of Zeus and with a great rooftop restaurant with a view of the Acropolis and city. Staff was efficient, courteous, English-speaking, and highly accommodating. A few blocks from the heart of Plaka and the entrance to the Acropolis.

The hotel was clean and nearby the tourist attractions, plenty of nearby restaurants to choose from, breakfast on the roof terrace with great views, would book here again when I return to Athens.

Perfect place to stay in Central Athens, the roof restaurant is lovely for breakfast, excellent value for money.

Booked with hotels.com and no hiccups. Friendly, helpful staff for whom nothing too much trouble. Clean, airy rooms:we had 2 separate bookings at different times. The cheaper, inside room was fine, if not as nice as temple of zeus view room. Clean, modern facilities in rooms. Magic breakfast, both food and acropolis view. Would stay there again.

Great breakfast, close walk to public transport and to the Acropolis. Excellent views of the Acropolis from the rooftop restaurant. Very clean rooms. We enjoyed our stay.

Upon arrival at 1:00 in the morning, we were greeted by the doorman and upgraded to a room with a view of the Temple of Olympian Zeus - wonderful! The staff was very good. Breakfast on the Rooftop garden was great especially the views - the Temple of Olympian Zeus on one side & the Acropolis on the other. The room was very comfortable - nice sized bathroom with shower. The location can't be beat - within walking distance of shopping, transportation, restaurants, and the major sites. Only complaint - service fee for in-room Wi-Fi.

This hotel was amazing it is very easy to take the metro from the airport to get to the hotel, it is close to everything you can walk anywhere, the rooms are a good size and had a nice size bathroom with a shower tub combo, the roof top terrace probably is one of the best to see the parthenon from your hotel, breakfast was good plenty of options with amazing greek yogurt and honey, the staff is friendly and helpful, and all speak good english.

Fantastic location roof top resturant had the best view ever. Highly recommend it
