The room was in need of some serious dusting. Other than that the stay was great......

Stayed 3 nights. The room was super clean. The breakfast buffet is done very well. the small dining area is very pleasant and has a nice fireplace to enjoy on a cool day.

Nice Hotel with great breakfast area. Rooms have plenty of electrical outlets to recharge devices.

clean, comfortable and a great breakfast.

My daughter goes to Texas State. We frequently travel to San Marcos. I like the Hampton Inn for the cleanliness and location, but don't expect the front desk to be friendly. Barely a hello or good morning and it is sad when you a spending a whole week there and are treated so-so.

We got there at 1:30pm to check-in just to realize check-in wasn't until 3:00pm. We had a wedding that we needed to get ready (shower) and be at no later than 3:00pm. We started to panic a little and then the girl behind the counter said...we have 1 room ready now!!! She saved the day! Clean room, clean sheets! Bed was a little hard but you can't please everyone.

It was good. A little hard to find off of 35. It is behind other hotels/restaurants.

It was perfect, the room was very clean and comfortable. The free Breakfast was good and easy. Everyone working there was very pleasant. We will use this Hotel again. We have a College student leaving down there.

Everything was great. From check in to rooms to breakfast to check out. If I could change one thing I would have showers in the HC accessible rooms instead of tubs. I could not shower but I had just before I left home so really did not need to anyway. Overall it was practically perfect in every way.

We loved this location and motel. It is close to many eating places and the breakfast is very good with a spacious seating area for hotel guests.

It was good beds were ok but could be better

Once we found the hotel, it was fine. We are very familiar with San Marcos - our son was a student there - but the map instructions were 'off', so we went around the block several times until we realized we were at the wrong exit entirely (there are two exits for Hwy 82 - East and West). The hotel itself is typical Hampton Inn quality - clean, friendly staff - consistent and reliable. And the ultimate location was fine - just do better research than we did - don't rely on map provided!

Room was nice, and breakfast was very good.

Hotel is very nice. The room was very comfortable. Location is convenient to interstate, shopping, and restaurants. My only complaint was the desk clerk, both at check-in and check-out....neither even attempted to be friendly. Will stay here again.

Hotel was conveniently located which made our stay very nice. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean.

We chose this hotel because it was close to Texas State University and we were visiting the campus for a tour. The hotel was clean. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly. We will definitely return to this hotel. Great hotel! We will return again.

This hotel was nice because it was back off of the highway service road a little, so we did not hear any traffic. There WAS a train that passed nearby a few times a night, but there's not much the hotel can do about that. I love staying here for the great breakfast options, and it's easy access to the highway for the outlet shopping.

We were taking our son for college orientation. We will be traveling several times in the next four yrs to San Marcos and we want to find a reasonable, nice, comfortable place to stay. It was nice!

Very nice hotel, clean and comfortable.

Good service. Clean and quiet rooms. Breakfast selection was good. The hot food (eggs and sauage) was edible but not great. The enterance to the hotel was obscured, making it a little hard to find at night.

The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was great. I would highly recommend it.

Even though I had high expectations because of the reviews that I had read, I was genuinely impressed. Plenty of parking (free) even though the hotel was very full. Greeted by friendly staff who were knowledgeable about the things we were going to do & see while there, my room was on the top (4th) floor, close to the elevator. Not an issue, as I never heard it while in my room. My room was immaculate. No stains on the linens or bed covers, which were all white. Comfortable beds (we had a room with 2 Queen sized beds) that made me want to replace my mattress set at home. The bathroom was spotless. The free breakfast was excellent, with many options from cold cereals to pastries to a waffle station, scrambled eggs & bacon, an oatmeal station, fruits, yogurts, juices, coffees and teas. I would recommend this hotel to all my family and friends.

Was very pleased with this hotel. Close to the outlets too! Only thing was that we had written some requests when we made the reservation and neither of them were acknowledged. However after repeating those requests when we checked in they were taken care of so no harm done! Very nice staff and well kept, clean hotel. Will stay there again!!

I wrote my review for this night at Hampton Inn on the wrong day. We also stayed at this hotel on Feb 12-13. That review was for this night. Great hotel!

Our stay here was one of a two night stay with a few days in San Antonio in between. We have stayed at this hotel several times before when we come for the Texas Music Teacher's Conference in San Antonio and do some shopping in San Marcos. This first night we were awakened by a 3:15 a.m. wake up call that we did not request! We were so upset and had a difficult time going back to sleep. We talked to the manager (Ryan) the next morning and he was SO NICE! Hampton Inn has a "satisfaction quarenteed" policy so we got our money back for that night! Wow! And the young man was very nice and a great manager. We returned in a few days to stay there again and it was great! We will definitely stay there again!

Great location in San Marcons (a bigger or more prominent sign on the feeder road pointing to the hotel entrance would be helpful since other businesses surround it). Plenty of free parking space. We had to wait a while to check in because there was no one at the front desk when we arrived. Other guests arrived and had to wait as well. Very nice and clean room, super comfortable beds. Beautiful granite bathroom counter and great shower! I was a little concerned about noise since we were put in a room by the elevators but it did not turn out to be a problem at all. We could hear some noise from the interstate but it was not bad. I appreciated the nice complimentary breakfast and array of food choices as well as the roomy breakfast area. The eggs (powdered?) and cut-up fruit (thawed from frozen?) were a bit disappointing but there were plenty of other hot and cold food options as well as morning beverages to choose from. The servers kept the serving areas well-stocked and the eating areas clean. I think this and other nicer San Marcos hotels tend to be pricey, but I would be glad to come back and stay here again.

We flew in for a Funeral in Wimberely and we were quite happy with our stay overall. The only thing that could have made it perfect was not to have the sound of the UPS trucks unloading and making a lot of loud banging noise right in back of our hotel window. It really bothered us during a sad time. Other than that everything else was wonderful.
