Howard Johnson Inn & Suites Toronto East - טורונטו

This hotel has been forgotten by Howard Johnson. Not easy to find, buidling in poor condition, cannot access rooms from inside lobby, furniture and TV very old, mattresses are not flat, the foot of the bed are on an incline. Only good thing about this hotel they had a smoking room.

Hotel Manager at front desk very arrogant and ignorant, When I first arrived I was told there is no reservation for me, then when checked found out they gave my room to someone else. Finally they gave me a room and when I went into the room it was only one king bed in smoking section. So I went back to front desk and told them I have booked 2 double bed in non-smoking. Then he argued that it will be more money. Finally I got the room which was ok and clean. it was a bad experience.

The hotel misleads people with the very best pictures. The hotel is outdated and no modern updates all. The only thing good was the location.

Non eventful,which is good news

I must admit that Howard Johnson normally has a pretty good reputation. Unfortunately, this one is not at the top of my list. The location in good and there are restaurants near by. Although this is a positive thing, the pool area smelled really bad, the beds sank, and the bathroom was just dirty. And, the "free breakfast" is nothing to brag about (bread, bagels, cereal). Will not be going back.

not happy at all !!! check-in is 3pm no exceptions, they will not accommodate if you get there earlier. the breakfast really sucked!

Hotel was a dump! Need serious maintenance!

There are sections of this hotel that should be avoided with extreme prejudice. There is one wing of the hotel is blocked off for your protection. The ice machine on the second floor is old, broken and moldy. Part of the back end of the hotel is rented out to a limousine service. I expected a lot better.

If you're looking for cheap and not cheerful this is the place for you. Yes it is cheap but the downsides are nonsmoking rooms next to a smoker's coridoor, filthy and damaged bathroom sink, inadequate tea and coffee and too tight to provide any extras, strong Chinese food smell from adjoining restaurant, unkempt outdoor area, broken door, etc. Nice pool though and good access to expressway, free parking.

For a simple overnight stay in TO, with a pool, for price it is a deal. Having said that, it desperately needs a facelift; it needs better service, the free 'breakfast' needs to be improved, repairs and cleanup around the building and grounds need to be performed, get rid of Limos, buses etc scattered around.

I was able to explore the shopping centers near the hotel. The. Shopping was three miles away.

Not go there again! This is the worst Howard Johnson never been before. The swimming pool is okay but they don't have Spa room.

It was easy to miss the entrance of this hotel. We almost did. Reception area was dark and unattractive. No elevator to get to the second floor (we were carrying a heavy piece of luggage so it was an inconvenience). We were sent to a room that was already booked. Could of been quite embarassing. When we got a room of our own it looked seedy. Air conditonner was so noisy we had to turn it so low it was barely effecive. At least the bed looked clean so we slept there but left as quickly as possible the next morning.

The stay was ok..... I was disappointed with the property. The entrnance which was the first point of contact was not swept nor well kept. This did not give a good impression. The place was run down and needs a good coat of paint. The staff was very helpful and friendly and this made up for what the hotel lacks.

Room filthy, bathroom filthy, hotel is not clean and very outdated. For 10 or 15 more dollars you are in Holiday in or Monte Carlo Suites in better area

Nice and peaceful

Hot tub was dirty, sauna was closed, hotel was seriously dated. Should cost about $35.00/night

I only needed a bed for the night as cheaply as possible so this Howard Johnson was just that. It was cheap, but comfortable. The linen was paper thin but then I hadn't paid for a five star hotel. It did the job.

No hot water, had to change rooms because the keys would not work, room was cold, had to ask for extra blankets. Had people looking for clients knocking on our room door, Said it was a mistake. The food at the hotels buffet ( Chinese ) was luke warm! I'am sorry I would not recomend this hotel

room did not have any tub plug I asked twice for one so my child can have a bath and i stil didn't recieve it. The sliding patio doors have a really big gap so the outside air was leaking into the room. Renting this room in December and the beds were right beside the door and with the amount of air that came into the room did not make it any better. Over all I stayed with my family there for 5 days and I am now extremely sick from the cold air. oh ya their laundry facilities there was 2 washers and 2 dryers in a room the size of a closet and after I spent $7 to do 2 loads of laundry (washed and dryed) I found out that my cloths did not get very cleaned at all. And there was no garbage can in there so all the lint and soap containers were on the floor or in the small sink and there was a condom wraper on the floor. I WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE

In the middle of an industrial area. The hotel is getting old and warn. The TV channel selection was poor, and the bathroom really needs to be renovated.. Overall, not the best place to stay.

When registering, I was charged additional funds to receive an upgraded room. The renovations in this room reflect the very poorest quality of workmanship. The hotel reception staff, although pleasant, could not justify the additional charge policy nor the security deposit for the room policy....the cost of staying at this hotel is simply not worth it! This hotel was once a nice place to stay but sadly it is now a dilapidated and run down place, even with the so called renovations!

I have stayed in many hotels over the years. Canadian and abroad, I have never stayed in such a dirty , unkept room. The pillows smelled like they had not been replaced in 10 years or more.The cases were yellow and smeeled like they had been in storage for a few years. The bed reminded me of my great grandmothers, lumpy and smelly. There were no washclothes, bathmat, and only one bath towel, but I believe it was a hand towel. We asked for a smoking room , no ashtray, burns everywhere on the night stand and dresser. There was a full piece of pizza and dipping sauce I found beside the heater , when I tried to find a heat control for the freezing room. It was not my pizza , I assure you. We were given a room on the ground floor with a patio slider door. This door never closed tight and the draft that came through the door was wistling all night. Will never stay with this hotel chain again. I called the front desk in the morning to let them know of the missing items , so I was not charged on my credit card for the maid not doing her job, or helping herself to the hotels stock.

This hotel is in need over a renovation 1970's decor , operator trying to update while still operating clients appear to be mostly tours and travel groups.

Close access to major highways. However this is an older hotel and in need of some basic security attention. Outside sliding door(s) of my room didn't lock or even close completely, some concern when staying alone. Also there are 5 entrances to this building and the outside doors are not always securely locked during the day. TV reception was very poor. Staff was as helpful as they are allowed to be.

The hotel is right on High Way 401 which was convenient, but if I had known what the area was like I would NOT have chosen this place. Yes, they are redoing the place, but it is still run down and dirty! Dining room and so called "continental breakfast" are below standards!

This hotel should have been bull-dosed over about 5 years ago and rebuilt. The place is a total dive and fire hazard. Would never stay here again. I was fearful for my life and had difficulty sleeping thinking if this hotel is in this dire need of a renovation does any of the fire security even work?
