Hotel was absolutely wonderful!! Beautiful, prime location, excellent service!! Would definitely stay again!!

Husband liked the old feel...I prefer the newer. If you like the old and antique, you will be fine. I prefer the more new and luxurious, so I might not do a review justice. The service and the extras like cookies in the afternoon, wine in the evening and breakfast each morning were very nice. Rooms are smallish, street noisey and floors don't really feel very clean but maybe thats just because they are so old and worn and I have my prejudices. Very handy to Riverwalk and very nice not to have to pay those high parking and valet prices. Park yourself across the street for $12 and carry your own luggage and save yourself some $$$!

Great old hotel with lots of character. Service wonderful including meal suggestions and reservations. This place has lots of character and is in the perfect spot just steps from both the Alamo and the Riverwalk. Great coffee, breakfast and afternoon wine and cookies too!

Fabulous two night stay - wished it could have been longer.

I loved the hotel. It combines the historical with modern amenities. The breakfast and nightly wine was very good along with a personal touch My only suggestion is that being right in the center of all the action you might want to have a pair of earplugs near by. I did and was not at all concerned about the traffic outside. Only 17 rooms so don't miss this.

The room wasn't the largest, but comfortable. Included breakfast always had fresh home made hot option in addition to other offerings. Location was great relative to the River Walk, just across the street to either side of the river. It's on a busy street corner so there is some traffic noise, but not that bad, didn't even notice it most of the time. Would definitely stay there again on my next visit. Personnel were all very friendly, professional and helpful. Great value.

If you like to stay at idiosyncratic hotels with a very uncommercial feel, like high-quality interaction with hotel concierges (such as Patty and Joan), enjoy being right on the doorstep of the River Walk and around the corner from the Alamo, then River Walk Vista should be on your possibility list. However, if your room is on the Commerce Street side of the hotel, even if it is on the third floor, the white noise machine attached to your bed's headboard will be insufficient to ward off the amount of noise generated by partying, police sirens, motorcycles, trash trucks, street cleaning machines and delivery trucks that take place (in that order) from 2:00 AM until 5:00 AM. We tried using CVS ear plugs for two nights and they were only mildly useful. Double-paned windows instead of single-paned with plastic inserts would go a long way to cutting down the street noise at night.

A great place to stay! Staff was very personable and accommodating! Location was awesome, right in the middle of the San Antonio Riverwalk. Will definitely stay there again!

I stayed here on business. I was surprised to find this to be very quaint. Only 17 rooms in the Inn. Felt very comfortable, clean, and staff was awesome! Complimentary wine in the evening, continental breakfast in the am. Right in the middle if town. Stone's throw from the riverwalk. Definitely would come back.

The style and layout of the hotel was unique and interesting. The location could not have been better - right next to the Riverwalk and the Alamo. The nice amenities included breakfast, afternoon cookies and glass of wine. I would definitely recomment this hotel to my friends.

Beautiful hotel with a lot of history. Loved the special touches of the beta fish in each room, cookies in the afternoon and wine at night. The staff was very helpful in giving us directions and recommendations. Felt like we were a part of San Antonio's history by staying at the hotel.

A refreshing change from the usual "big name" hotels. Great location, really friendly staff and comfortable, well appointed room. Would definately stay again if we return to San Antonio.

We enjoyed our stay.The Innkeeper was helpful;the room was comfortable and clean. However we will not be returning, the noise from the street was distracting and the parking,loading,unloading and accessibility of your was car were a problem. There is no parking except at the city garage about a block away making me uncomfortable for night coming and going. We had to use a cab for a late dinner because I didn't feel safe with the garage arrangement. There is also no parking in front for loading and unloading or anyone to help you .

Very pleasant and clean, with unique character. The immediate neighborhood could be a deterrent for some folks, but one block away is the conference center and river walk.

All first class - the welcome, the offers of help and assistance and the attention to detail. Hard to fault and of the 4 hotels we used in our 2 week holiday, this was our favourite.

Riverwalk Vista was just as advertised. A quaint boutique hotel located within easy walking distance to the riverwalk, Alamo,Rivercenter mall, La Villita, Convention Center and many restaurants and shops. The main trolly station is a block away as well as the main city bus station. The visitor center is about a block away and has many friendly helpful people working there. Actually we found helpful friendly people everywhere from the hotel to the "Amigos" on the street to the trolley and bus drivers. The hotel's managers were all very friendly and helpful as well. The atmosphere was very relaxed. The breakfast was average but there was something for everyone. Lots of teas available and always reg. and decafe coffee available.There are sitting areas on both the 2nd and third floors. The location and laidback atmosphere of the hotel was exactly what we were looking for.

Welcomed change to the chain hotels in the area. The inn keeper was very friendly and she checked me in right in the room. The room comes with a pet fish to keep you company, a rubber ducky in your shower and a nice reading area with a very comfortable leather chair and foot stool. The water in the fridge is free! I was worried about having to work on a dial up connection but I was able to pick up the wifi at McD's located beneath the hotel. There's a continental breakfast every morning and cookies and wine in the evening. I really enjoyed the various sitting areas so I could get out of my room. Riverwalk is right across the street and the convention center is the next street down.

Let me start by saying my wife and I prefer smaller boutique style hotels and historic hotels even more. The Riverwalk Vista was a perfect fit. Let's start off with location, one block from the middle of the famed Riverwalk and one block from the historic Alamo. 50 yard line tickets in the 200 section, just perfect. The hotel itself is in a 150ish year old brick building, complete with original floors and windows. At every turn we were greeted by cozy public areas with comfy leather sofas and period antique furnishings. Our room was nicely sized, a nice worn leather chair in the corner begged to be lounged in. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom spacious with plenty of pressure and hot water in the slate tiled shower. The modern expectations of a large flat screen TV, a mini bar with reasonably priced soft drinks and an ipod dock alarm clock were also in the room. Evidently some people have trouble sleeping in an urban hotel setting so they also had a white noise generator. We used it one night but really didn't need to. Our room was on the second floor and with those giant windows you would think we would be subject to some street noise but we had no problems. Check in check out was smooth and the inn keeper very friendly. They provided a great little breakfast every morning, lemonade and cookies in the dining room all day. If we ever get back to San Antonio we will definitely stay here again.

I was leery about staying here. I generally don't like old hotels and I generally don't care for B&B's. But, we decided to try something different and I couldn't have been more pleased. This hotel was well located. The room was large, clean, comfortable and really cool. The innkeepers couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Goodbye Hyatt. Goodbye Marriott. Goodbye big chain hotels in San Antonio. Hello Riverwalk Vista!

I really loved this place. From its old world charm to its personal touches. The Riverwalk Vista was everything I hoped it would be for my anniversary stay. I would go there again in a heartbeat!

Charming boutique hotel conveniently located across from the riverwalk. Loved our quaint room with hardwood floors, high wood ceiling, ceiling fan and two large windows. Comfy bed and great walk-in glass shower with slate tile. Also loved the high quality towels that smelled fresh from the laundry! So nice to walk outside of your room in the morning for coffee and breakfast served in the small lobby. The yummy homemade hatch green chile quiche was an unexpected treat. Although our room was located on the street directly above a busy traffic circle, it was amazingly quiet and we never heard any outside noise-- thanks to the "white noise" air machine! The only negative we found was the parking issue... but the public garage wasn't that far away- so it didn't seem to be as big of a deal as what we had expected from reading other reviews. We have stayed in several nice hotels along the riverwalk during the many years that we have travelled to San Antonio...but this is our new favorite and we definitely plan to return!

We loved this hotel. If you love history, there is so much information about San Antonio just from the pictures displayed. The location to the Riverwalk couldn't have been any better. Even though we had to park across the street in a parking garage, that was no hassle. The view from our window was great. Staff was wonderful; thanks. On our next visit to San Antonio, we will definitely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Hemisiphere Suite (each of the rooms has its own unique name). Can't understand why Hotels.com's rating is only 3-star for the Riverwalk Vista when the guest reviews are all so high. We were impressed by the warm cookies available just after check-in, the manager's reception with comp wine at 5:00, and the great breakfast the next morning. (Yes, it is way more than just your ordinary continental breakfast.) The only not-so-convenient part was no on-site parking. Had to pay $12 to overnight in the garage across the street and about a block from hotel. But we were able to unload and reload right in front of hotel, which was good. Oh yes, the bed was a little soft for our personal tastes, but it was "okay." Loved the big slate shower and rain shower head.

The hotel was great. Near the Riverwalk and Alamo, not your normal hotel feel, very spacious and comfortable.

I will defiantly be back and I have already recommended this place to friends and family.

Beautiful hotel with large, fun rooms. The beds were comfortable and the shower was a slate walk-in - a great way to start your day. The Alamo is around the corner and the Riverwalk across the street. Your room comes with a nice breakfast and a glass of wine at Happy Hour.

This is perfect for a couple that wants to stay close to the river walk action. Very quaint, historic bed and breakfast type hotel. Only drawback us you have to use public parking since hotel doesn't offer but it's about a block away so no biggie.

Beautiful renovation of historic building. High ceilings. Large windows with nice views. Spacious bathroom with big shower. Nicely decorated. Comfortable common spaces. Extremely convenient location three blocks from the Alamo and across the street from the Riverwalk. Fantastic breakfast spread (complimentary). Cookies in the afternoon. Wine happy hour (complimentary). Staff extremely helpful. All of this for a great price. Sign me up again the next time I'm in San Antonio!

Enjoyed the breakfast variety, good wine and cookies in afternoons. Very convenient to Riverwalk and the convention center. Security made us feel safe. Good restaurants within walking distance.

Very clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, very good breakfast. The best thing though is the location. Steps from The Alamo. Steps from the Riverwalk. You can park your car just down the street and never have to use it until you leave. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip and this hotel.

We stayed at the Riverwalk Vista during our visit to San Antonio and loved it! It has a great location as it is right acros the street from the Riverwalk. We had a great breakfast every morning and a quiet stay at night. A sound machine is included in your room to drown out the street noise, which never bothered us. We will definitely be staying there again!!

This hotel seems to be an old building converted into a hotel. Arrival was a bit unusual, in that you have to buzz the front desk before you can enter the hotel. After that it all great - my room was large and funky (good), the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location is 2 blocks from the Convention Center, and right on the River Walk - perfect for me. I will stay here again.

Loved it!!! This is our second time staying at this hotel. I have been to many downtown hotels - but this one by far is the best -- even compared to the Grand Hyatt. No - they do not have fancy lobby OR an onsite spa, gym room, etc. that 5 star hotel offers. But what this place offers is a charm that no fancy hotels can offer. I loved the antique feel but still felt modern. It will be a little hard to find if you are new in town (just look for McDonalds - it's in the same block). As soon as you pass the hassle and bustle of the street - buzz the doorbell - and enter this charming place - you will be transported back in time - literally. The room is sooooo comfy - loved the sheets (feels and smells new). The restroom is sooooo clean - loved the shower. Can't rave enough about this place. Breakfast is awesome (they do not use plastic/styrofoam plates and utensils) - feels like eating at grandma's house. The only thing I do not like are the homeless people hanging around the street -- other than that, it is pretty safe.

A very pleasant stay at the Riverwalk Vista. The staff was very helpful, friendly & hospitable. Just loved the 'rustic' decor. The breakfast was very good with home made quiche & banana bread. Disappointed I didn't have the time to socialize over some complimentary wine with other guests & staff. Great location.

Fabulous views. The Hugman Suite is a corner room with 4 huge windows overlooking East Commerce and Lasoya streets. This includes the riverwalk, Torch of Friendship sculpture, and the Tower of the America. The riverwalk is within walking distance, as well as The Alamo. The hotel is cozy and romantic. Only 16 rooms. Service can't be beat. Food is simple and comforting. Love the 3:00 snack withb everages and breakfast. If you book this hotel, be sure to call them about additional packages.

This was a wonderful alternative to the large chain hotels on the Riverwalk. The staff was awesome and the historic building was very well maintained. The complementary morning breakfast helps get your day started right. The hotel is located right across the street from the Riverwalk so you can park the car for the weekend and have a blast in San Antonio, Texas!!

A fun place if you like a historic hotel-bed and breakfast. three blocks from the Alamo and across the street from the river-walk restaurants. Historic building turned into a fine hotel.
