Lamie's Inn and The Old Salt Restaurant - המפטון

We found the Lamie Inn & Tavern to have the wonderful atmosphere that we were hoping to find for our New England visit. Just a perfect travel stop with a historic feel, while providing the necessary comforts expected today.

Repeat visitor. Love the people at the front desk and the great service they provided us. They went our of their way to help us with a car problem solution. Our room was very clean, food was delicious. Will return again for all that Lamie's offers.

Fine place to stay. Beds were a little hard and the rooms were very small. Bathroom was very small and no fan so it fogged up badly. Clean however.

Great location between Boston and Portsmouth. Charming, clean and comfortable. Desk clerk was helpful. Restaurant food and service were good. Would return and will recomment to friends.

Loved our too brief stay at Lamie's Inn and the resturant was great too! My only suggestion would be to improve the pillows. They were hard and had been around too long.... Can't wait to return....

The negative is the fact that the mattress was so old and lumpy and my back was out each morning. The coziness of the hotel is very nice. I think you do need to update the beds. I did not sleep because I was afraid to lay down. All else was fine.

Loved this hotel. It was very quaint, the bar was fabulous. I highly recommend it.

Very friendly personnel...good food in the restaurant...a little slice of American history.

Very nice facility only an hour from Logan. Old Salt tavern has excellent food. Great place to use as a jumping off place if you are flying in and out of Logan to tour New England.

We just got back from a 12 day trip up thru the New England states. This was our favorite place to stay. We ate dinner in the tavern and it was fantastic and very reasonable. Breakfast was also outstanding. I highly recommend this place.

Loved the old time feel of the hotel. Only negative was that the room smelled musty. The restaurant was incredible. The breakfast provided had a nice variety and good coffee. The hotel was in walking distance to a variety of shops and restaurants and a short drive to the beach.

This was a great hotel with friendly staff and comfortable, pretty rooms. The bathrooms are a bit dated, and our shower did not drain well. But overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated being at a hotel with character rather than a chain.

The staff at the Inn are friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent and though we had to take the car to various spots, we felt that the Inn was nicely located.

The inn was very nice. The restuarant attached even better. Short drive to the beach. Rooms were excellent although somewhat quant. Clearly exceeded my expectations. I would definitely go back.

Great historic hotel, nice breakfast in the dining room.

Everything is old. Room is very small. Bathroom needs to be remodeled. You can clearly hear people talking in the room next door. I am not happy with the Hotels.com rating.

it was an overnight stay after attending a show at the Casino. The location was just a couple miles from beach and was relatively quiet in comparison to staying on the strip. The food in the tavern was excellent. We will definitely go again and stay longer...

very nice hotel not far from beach but you do have to drive and pay for parking but like i said it is worth the drive would stay again and tell family and freinds about it.Also very good restaurant.

There were a few issues with our stay that really detracted from the overall experience. The microwave in our room kept shorting (at all times of the night/day), making loud beeps each time it reconnected to the power source. The bathtub didn't drain properly. And, though the walls in the room seemed to muffle sounds, the door to to the room didn't at all; conversations in the hallway sounded like they were taking place in our room.

Fine, old hotel with a comfortable bed and a convenient location. The breakfast is nothing to write home about, but the people are nice and its clean. I'd stay there again.

I was pleased with the location in terms of access from the highway and the neighborhood where it is located. The inn is very well maintained and the Old Salt was excellent. The ease of having the restaurant right on sight was fantastic.

Nice local Inn Atmosphere.. no bellhop so you need to lug your own stuff to and from the room. Rooms are very quiet so that is a huge plus.

It was a nice inn... the rooms were decent and clean, and the amenities were unexpectedly nice... the common spaces were beautiful in their old style, as was the adjoining restaurant/pub. And the price was very low and included a continental breakfast which was pretty good. To truly make this inn a classic, the furniture in the rooms could be updated w/ antiques, but overall, a decent nice place. I will stay there again.

If you're looking for a place to say with character-look no further! The staff was wonderful (and very accommodating) and the food/atmosphere at the tavern was amazing!!

Very comfortable beds and a modern feel to the room, despite a very old feeling theme to the hotel. Complete with a refrigerator and microwave. The actually use real keys to the rooms! the attached restaurant is good too, and the complimentary breakfast was decent

Lamies has a lot of character and charm of a home or an old inn, but with updated bathrooms, good towels and sheets. The staff is very accomodating and helpful. My son and I stayed here the last night of visiting several schools and staying at various inns and hotels in CT and MA. This was our favorite. The adjoining dining room has lots of sea memorobilia, but this is not a corporate decorator at work. The guest room was comfortable and the hotel cozy.

We stayed at this inn for the price and the close location to a show we were going to see at the Casino Ballroom. Room was wonderful, romantic canopy bed, warm cozy room, which also included a small refridgator and microwave and nice continental breakfast in the morning. The tavern had great food as well. Very friendly staff. Only problem is that we got in late from the show and the bathroom light was not working and in the morning there was no hot water for a second shower. We did enjoy our stay very much in spite of this and would stay here again.

Great location - close to the beaches w/out paying beachfront prices. Nice old inn - very cozy, clean rooms, many with canopy beds. Old Salt Tavern very quaint with friendly staff. Dining room very popular with the locals. Continental breakfast was a great spread - lots of variety.

I have stayed here several times for travel, GREAT food right under your room at the resturant. Comfortable rooms, nice staff great breakfast and worth every penny for the simple fact you do not have to travel for a place to eat. I frequently travel to that area for work and will stay there every time!!!!!

great hotel staff...rooms were nice the bathroom was a little small. breakfast in the morning was a very nice buffet. restaurant was very good. dessert was fabulous. only complaint is we stayed in room 31 which was the first room by the parking lot and it was a bit noisey. i would stay again if i have a chance.

Very old tavern with nice decor. No elevator so had to carry very heavy bags upstairs ourselves, no help available. Also had elderly visitor who could not go upstairs. The sound on the tv was gone. Two people tried to fix it but couldn't, The owner did give us a gift certificate to the restaurant as reimbursement. No hair dryer in bathroom. Very loud at night with music coming from the tavern. Also my credit card was charged an extra $500 by mistake so I had to fix that when I got home......Would not stay here again...too many errors!

The rooms were very nice as well as clean. They were a little on the small side, but the atmosphere made up for it. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. This is a pet friendly hotel (though you need to be put in a special pet friendly room, and there is a pet fee, all of which is not mentioned on hotels.com) and there was a bag of dog biscuits on the night stand when we arrived which I thought was really cute and considerate. Overall it was a nice place to stay, and the tavern at the inn was comfortable as well and had great food. It was largely a seafood menu, but there were a few non seafood options as well.

Whenever I am visiting family in NH, it is a must to stop at the Old Salt Restaruant for lunch or dinner. I was meeting my cousin at Logan Airport and we thought it would be nice to have dinner and drinks. Boston was an option, but I remembered the good food served at the restaurant attached to Lamie's Inn. It was convenient; dinner, drinks in the lounge and to our rooms. The Inn service was A+, the rooms were quiet and comfortable. Will make it an annual stop; a great place to relax before meeting up with all the family members.

The inn is quaint and the people very friendly. The restaurant was fun too. However, our room smelled strongly of mold/mildew....quite unpleasant, almost unbearable! When I asked for a different room, there were none available. They offered to bring a dehumidifier in, which made it obvious that their moisture problem is not new! It did not help abate the odor at all. I will not stay there again, but we might go to the restaurant next time we're in the area.

We were happy not to be at the chaotic beach scene. And, this is is nice alternative to the anonymous motel on one hand and the too friendly B&B on the other. It seemed that they tried to cut corners in strange places. For example, the breakfast was very basic (which was fine), make your own toast, a fruit salad, cartons of too sweet yoguurt, etc. But in this full service restaurant (at othr times of the day)for breakfast they chose to have paper plates, plastic forks and disposable coffee cups. At night the dinner in the restaurant was quite good with the exception of the canned corn as the vegetable of the day.
