Staff at the hotel were unfailingly helpful and responsive to every request. The breakfast buffet had something for every taste Great location for any adventure in the city.

Location perfect. Staff good. Room modern and well appointred. Was woken by loud clashing from 5m deliveries - not great! Used ear plugs second night! Worst thing was breakfast. Watery OJ, poor quality bread. Stocks low at 9am, on both days when I went down. Probably would not stay again due to disappointing breakfast.

Hotel was superbly placed for visiting the Old Town. The staff and service were of extremely high standard and the small evening and lunch Restaurant of a very high standard. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

The hotel appears a bit dated - the comforters and carpeting in our room were really showing their age and there was a medicine pill that stayed on the floor through our entire stay so I can't say that the cleaning was spotless. The staff were very nice and spoke great English and the location of the hotel was quite central - very close to the three bridges.

The location of the hotel made it perfect. I enjoyed the free internet and the free morning breakfast buffet. Everyone that worked at the hotel was amazingly nice and helpful. I used the gym and it was good for Europe standards. The hotel however is quite old so the beds were a bit hard and the bathrooms outdated. But I would stay there again based on the staff, location and overall cleanliness.

We stayed here after flying in from the U.S. What a great decision....not only was the location terrific for walking around the city, but the hotel was very comfortable, the breakfast was practically overwhelming, and it was a great place to help us with our jet lag- big comfortable rooms and beds.

The staff is friendly, but the hotel does need some repair. We stayed here as it is easy off and on the freeway heading toward the Zagreb airport that is about 1 1/2 hrs. away. There is no elevator to rooms upstairs, but the staff willingly will carry the bags up to your room. There is no pool; there is a gambling casino which we did not use. Free internet, parking and buffet breakfast is included. The breakfast was cold, but staff qquickly relite the alcohol heaters. Food was just OK.

The hotel and rooms were very clean, perfect location for sight seeing/city walking tour. Satisfactory breakfast buffet and pleasant, helpful hotel staff.

Terrific location, comfortable rooms, willing staff, and good food.

We had a very enjoyable 2 nights here. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Bathrooms looked new and the toiletries were plentiful. The breakfast buffet was substantial and the coffee was exceptionally good. Wi-fi was free which was a rarity for us while staying at other 4-star hotels throughout Europe. The walk to the city center was probably under 1 minute. The Franciscan church was right outside of our window and the Ljubljana castle could also be seen. And of course, the staff were very helpful and friendly. My only gripe was that the extra bed for a 3rd person was quite uncomfortable. Perhaps a mattress pad on it would do the trick. I would stay here again next time I am in Ljubljana.

Grand Hotel Union Executive exceeded our expectations in terms of the elegance, beauty, spaciousness, and cleanliness of the rooms, the extravagant breakfasts, the very friendly and helpful service, and the wonderful location in the heart of the historic section of Ljubljana. A lot of value for the money. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ljubljana and think this deserves to be a 5 star hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay here. This is a beautiful old building right in the center of Ljubljana. It's an easy walking distance from the river, the castle, and downtown shops and restaurants. The staff were exceptionally friendly and spoke very good English. We really enjoyed the pool on the top floor of the business hotel (the tower adjoining the Executive hotel in the same building), which had views over the city. The breakfast was delicious and expansive. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our room was very large and the hotel overall was pleasant. Some maintenance good be improved.

The Grand Union Hotel is what the name implies...Grand. This is an old world hotel with new world service. The location is the best in Ljubljana and Ljubjana is a European jewel. I highly recommend the hotel and the city. Great service, excellent breakfast.

GOOD

My husband was there on business, but we had a very romantic laid back stay in Ljubljana. The hotel was a very short walking distance from shops, restaurants, and the triple bridges. Situated within maybe a 2 mile radius of everything, including the Ljubljana Castle. Would definetely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Perfect location in center of city, elegant, great service.

This hotel is world class. Best location, outstanding staff offers outstanding service. Break the bank. Stay here!

Very reasonably priced, perfect location one block from town center. Room had a small balcony, very comfortable bed, a small frig, free wi-fi, breakfast included was huge and included Slovenian champagne which was very good.

This hotel overcharged us for a conference room, they charged me for equipment which not existed. The were rude when I insisted not to pay for equipment which not existed. Never this hotel again. The room is ok, but nothing more. There are other very good hotel in Ljubljana, choose one of them instead.

This hotel is perfectly located next to the main square with tons of restaurants and bars. It's also walking distance from the castle. The room was very nice, spacious, and modern. The hotel staff made us feel welcome and spoke English. They also had a great breakfast buffet included with the room. The hotel has secured valet parking. If you plan to sleep in, ask for a room away from the church. The church bells go off very early! I also had a chain smoker in the room next door, which permeated our room with smoke. We were able to open the window, but this may not be feasible other times of the year. I'm sure they would have moved us if we asked.

Great location, very large room. We got a suite with separate bedroom and living room/kitchenette. Very helpful staff.

Pushing the double beds together was great for my husband, 2 yr old son & I to all sleep in. Rooms were HUGE and very nice. Staff at pool was very nice. We had the whole thing to ourselves, it was great. Massage was nice, too. Great location! Would definitely stay here again.

This is a nice hotel in a great location, it could not be better located for the old town. The rooms were comfy and the breakfast had lots of choice. We tried out the restarant in the hotel, but they did not have any vegatarian options on the main courses, and they were not interested in accomodating non meat eaters. No problem though as the surronding area has plenty of good quality restaurants.

Beautifuly maintained hotel in a wonderful location one block from the center of Ljubljana. Very nice breakfast buffet. Service, however, retained traces of the Communist era: both maid service and waiter service at breakfast were a bit spotty. Check in and check out went smoothly, but there was no concierge and assistance with information/tickets on events around town was poor.

Perfect location. Great hotel

This hotel is perfectly situated to explore the city on foot. Large, clean, rooms with in-room internet. Great breakfast included. A bit difficult to find using a car as the city roads are complicated, but once there, everything was perfect.

Buon servizio generale dell'hotel, addetti sorridenti e prontissimi ad aiutarti con parcheggio dell'auto e trasporto delle valigie, anche il giorno della partenza che ho potuto lasciare l'auto nel garage dell'albergo fino alle 14. Camere vecchie e mal arredate, stile anni 70, posizione dell'hotel fantastica, a due passi dal centro storico. Buona colazione con grande scelta

Hotelli sijaitsee keskeisellä paikalla, lyhyt matka vanhaan keskustaan. Myös linja-autoasema ja rautatieasema kävelyetäisyydellä. Aamupala monipuolinen, jonka kruunaa lasi kuohuvaa. Hotellihuone tyylikäs ja tilava, parvekkeelta hienot näkymät linnalle. Ylimmän kerroksen uima-allasosastolla mukava käydä virkistäytymässä turistin raskaan päivän jälkeen.
