Campanile Hotel Wakefield - ווייקפילד

Had spent the weekend prior in the Campanile Dunkerque France and Wakefileds is a big disapointment in comparison

It was good for a budget hotel and I've stayed at Campanile before and was very impressed. This hotel in Wakefield is on a trading estate which is o.k. if you want to used the hotel bar, or get a taxi into the town centre, or relax, or work in your room.This is the 2nd time I've stayed in this hotel and in different rooms. The heater was inadequate on both occasions. I had it turned up to full and was cold even though I was near it. The only reason I will stay at this hotel again is because it's 10mins from where I work.

Fantastic value not far from M1. In an industrial estate but if you are looking for a comfortable bed, good value restaraunt and free wifi this could be the one for you

The hotel was convenient and easy to find and essentially it did the job, however I doubt I will stay again as the room smelt strongly of stale smoke. It was very strong and even though I kept my clothes in a suitcase after two nights all my clothes carried the smoke smell too. The room needed a decent hoover and the ceiling was covered in cobwebs. I chose to eat out of the hotel.

Overall the hotel was exactly what you would expect from a budget hotel. It was clean and the room was adequate and warm. The staff was helpful. The only drawback is the fact that the hotel is situated in a industrial part of town, so having your own vehicle is preferable.

Excellent location will defiantly stay again

The stuck and broken front door should have told me that something was wrong, the grotty run-down area had already warned me that this wasn't going to be great and it wasn't! A very tired hotel in possibly the worst location ever with a busy road running in front and a grotty industrial estate behind. It had all the trademarks of a hotel cutting corners and trying to save money but all it did was produce the effect that it was struggling to survive.. We didn't eat there because in spite of being advertised, they refused to accept our Tastecard because we were 'hotel guests', crazy as we went elsewhere because of their attitude and as there was only one person eating in the restaurant, they could have done with our custom. I would never stay there again!

We booked the hotel as it was quiet near to the venue we were visiting that night, it was satisfactory for this purpose but glad it was only for an over night stay, the bed was comfy and the bedding clean, the rest of the room was ok, we had a problem with the TV but one of the staff was very helpfula and sorted it for us. the hotel is quiet close to Wakefield town centre and cheap so it was as I said ok for the night.

Value for money, convenient, clean

out standing service does not feel like a normall hotel more like a cottage in cornwall its a strange set up but really works i will use it every time i need to be over there a111111111111

had a small problem with heating.staff could have been a little more helpful.manager when in later would have moved us to another room if they had one.if the manager had been on earlier we would have got moved.did offer a twin but that was all that was left.he was as helpful as he could be.but didnt get back to us next day with a possible move.

love it , had everything I needed with the added bonus of a very fair,helpful and understanding manager, thankyou again

Pleasant hotel. Friendly staff and decent good value food. On a business park on outskirts of Wakefield, Handy for business parks, denby dale and motorway. Nothing salubrious but good value.

The hotel was conveniently situated, easy to find and was not unduly noisy. The walls looked a bit flimsy and I suspect it would be cold in winter as when I arrived the heater was on and I didn't even notice. The tv was good and the shower was fantastic. I was happy with a continental breakfast but the selection was paltry. The staff were pleasant.

Clean comfort room, better than most travelodge

Extremely good value I thought. It's on a main road into Wakefield so it's a fairly quick straight drive into the centre. There are a few food places not too far away. Room was nice and clean. Nice new telly with all the Freeview channels. Reception staff all friendly and helpful. It is on an industrial estate but it's really handy for the M1. No aircon but you can open the window fully. Would definitely stay again.

in an industrial estate, well-situated for both Wakefield city centre and the M1. This is a standard Campanile, well-run and with very low rates - we would certainly use it again. Aviod the restaurant.

Nice clean Room, dining area and bar lacked atmosphere and choice but plenty of other food options available locally.

The hotel phoned me to arrange a late check-in as they had no reception staff after 11. I would normally do this but had forgotten so it was very good that they preempted it. Rooms were very clean, nicely equipped and the Euro/US style of having a front door on your room is a nice touch.

This was a great value stay. The hotel was fine, room was clean, good wifi, nice TV, Tean and coffee in teh room. Very near J39 of M1. The restaurant was fine. It did what it said on the tin just perfect.

Cheap yes- but that really showed in the rooms. Staircase metal/stone outside and like a fire exit. Rooms were small, and carpets bare. On the plus side, for one night, it was a comfy bed and necessities fulfilled. Would definitely recommend a premier inn or similar over this, and are the same price

Locaiton was great just off the motorway lots of restaurants nearby and in the hotel....staff were lovely.....rooms basic but clean.. free WiFi great.... for what we paid this was great value.... if youre on a budget this is a great hotel

in the middle of a trading estate not really convenient for anything but for the price it suited for a 1 night stay

Set in the middle of an industrial estate, the Campanile makes a virtue of its simplicity, with cabin like rooms reached by external walkways. Its prime asset is its friendly and helpful staff.

the place where the rooms are doesnt look up to much but wheb i got in the room it was lovely! so well kept, tidy and cosey. really happy was a bargin for the quality. the staff were also really helpful

campenile hotel wakefield. The room was adequate for a 1 night stay. However, the stairs and the corridors were filthy. The clientel staying there left something to be desired.

Booked this because of the fact that a dog can be taken, otherwise would not have looked at Campanile. An unexpected plus point was the fact that it backed on to the canal which could be more of a feature and a definite bonus for dog walking. Cheap and fine for an overnight stop.

Nice clean room and quiet. I had a twin room and the bed was comfortable. I was only visiting Wakefield for one night, and was more than happy with this hotel.

needed a sat nav first time not easy to spot from road no signposts but staff really pleasant

I have stayed in the Campanile, Bradford on a number of occasions and therefore had high hopes for The Campanile, Wakefield. Unfortunately I was slightly disappointed, however on reflection the clue was in the difference in price!. This is without doubt the poorer relative but with the same warm and welcoming staff. The staff get 10/10 for attentiveness and it is clear that they work hard to make a tired building clean and comfortable.

For a a cheap budget hotel, i found this place very surprising, the bed was very comfortable and had a great nights sleep, the staff were friendly and helpful, ok the rooms wasn't the best standard but im just there for a place to sleep and not redecorate the place. Breakfast was superb and i really enjoyed it Overall this hotel went past my expectations if offered fantastic value for money and if im ever in that area again i know where i'll be stopping

nice walk into from town nice views from the windows comfy cosy accomodation. free internet. plenty of channels to watch on the programme. food looked very nice. staff were extremely friendly overall the hotel was a genuinely nice clean place to stay

Spending the same as I would on a travelodge or premier inn I expected Campanile, being a large chain to compare. This was not the case. The room was dated, shabby and had a horrible smell. There was one electricity plug in the whole room. Overall very much a disappointment.

The hotel was good, clean enough. Some spiderwebs in the corners but every nicely cleaned otherwise. Breakfast is well worth the money. Sadly the location is not the greatest. To get into Wakefield you'd prefer to have a car and the area around the hotel is quite industrial. Over all I enjoyed my stay and would recomend it if you have a car and mean to get out and about some in Yorkshire.
