Rodeway Inn Martinsburg - Martinsburg

My fiance and I needed a quick place to stay for the night and the Rodeway Inn was right off the interstate, very convenient. As we were checking in the lady was cursing at the card reader for not working the way she wanted it to. And then another guest came up complaining that the hot tub was so hot that her husband had blisters and her feet were red from just sitting 5 minutes in the hot tub. The lady at the front desk said she would talk to the maintenance guy tomorrow, but when the other guest left she started complaining about the guest! It was fine as an overnight stop, but if I could have found somewhere else to stay I definitely would have. The shower was temperamental, the bed was stiff, the lights were not every bright. Too expensive for not a very nice hotel.

I had a good stay. It was economical and easy to find. The bedroom and bathroom were clean. The decor needs work (green floral bedspreads, striped drapes, faded beach prints, red & gray geometric carpet). The exterior door had no room number and was difficult to open. T.V., fridge, and lights worked fine. It had all the basics that I needed, and I will probably stay there again.

Great over night stay as we were traveling. Food at attached bar was awesome!! Price was right and near many geocaches!!

The room was large/comfortable and clean. The hallways reeked of cigarette smoke tho i had a non smoking room. My 3rd day there was NO hot water and not enough water pressure to even take a cold shower. If you just want an affordable place to stay this is an ok hotel. The view of the pool area was nice and i had a balcony to view the pool area tho it is shared with another room. Also it's the old style connecting door rooms which was kinda scary as there were 4 entrances to the room and i was a female staying alone. Overall the hotel was affordable and the staff very nice.

Dead cricket in bathroom. Beds were very uncomfortable! Otherwise hotel was decent. Loved pool area

the hotel was in dis-repair the toilet didnt to the front desk and stood twork most of the time went here for about 15 mins and there was no one there no one came to clean the room or give fresh towels...stay away from this motel

Children were not allowed to eat in the restaurant... The sheets had cigarette holes in them (in a non-smoking room)... Beds were very uncomfortable... Bathroom not very clean... Hotel looked shabby...

Worst hotel that I ever stayed in... Cleanliness of the hotel was poor. Mold in bathroom! Bed was very hard as well. Wouldn't recommend.

This is a low priced, decent place to stay. The room was cleaned daily, although it took 2 days to get extra sheets and a pillow. The pool area is nice and the pool about 80 degrees. The bar is fun with Karaoke, a couple of pool tables and video games. The staff was nice, a guest computer at the hotel would bring it into this century. I know the owners are Indian, so I wasn't surprised there wasn't a one there knowing their history of frugality.

The positives: great price, great location, comfortable room and bed. The negatives: trash on my floor when I got there, not a lot of TV channels to choose from, and they wouldn't let my children swim in the pool, citing "insurance regulations." If they had insurance issues, they should have hired a lifeguard or gotten rid of the pool! The breakfast wasn't all that great, but it was passable. I'd stay there again. Oh, and they didn't mind giving me extra towels, like alot of other hotels I stayed at. Major Plus!

the mattress was made of stone they need more towels 3 pesons in 3 towels the pool room was poorly lite it was dark

I just sent a reply earlier. Outdated old rooms. Heated pool that was not heated and even after we told them, they said that they made it hotter and it was still freezing. Hot tub was dirty. They cleaned it after we complained. The Continental breakfast was a joke. A few muffins and a bag, thats right a bag, of mini pancakes left on the counter to microwave. When we asked for another towel because the "pool towels" were too small they would not provide another. I took my daughter out for breakfast as i would let an 11 year old child eat that. needless to say i threw my money away staying there and nothing i can do about it now right. wont stay there again thats for sure...

We enjoyed our stay. Staff was helpful. Enough though we stayed there in October I wish the pool area would have been warmer. The jazzui wasn't working nor the sauna. Fair warning the cell phone signal was trouble. Had to go out to main road to use the phone. The price is fair. It was right off the interstate. I would stay again. OH if you stay tried to stay in the pool side. The had trains running all nite long. lol

THE ROOM WAS CLEAN BUT THERE WAS CONCERNS THAT WE HAD.THE OUTLETS WERE LOOSE OR SPARKS FLEW WHEN SOMETHING WAS PLUGGED INTO OUTLET. WHEN YOU HAVE A DO NOT DISTURB SIGN ON DOOR & YET WE GOT A KNOCK ON THE DOOR FOR SERVICE.WE THOUGHT THAT MEANT TO LEAVE US ALONE & IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING WE WOULD LET THE FRONT DESK KNOW.OTHER THAN THAT EVERYTHING WAS GOOD!!!

My friend and I were looking for a nice, comfortable, yet affordable motel near Charles Town, WV. This place was excellent and surpassed my expectations. We especially enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub. We plan on staying here again in the future.

How this got on Hotels.com I cannot fathom. A real dump, not even suitable for a stopover unless you are armed. Then there's the dead insects in the common areas, the leaking NatGas in the pool area, the germ soup in the 'hot tub", the carpet of dead moths/bugs on the floor covering leading to the pool, the filth in the common hallways, the dirt layered around the edges of the carpet in the room, the dirty food dish in the "breakfst area" BTW, breakfast consists of 2 kinds of kiddie cereal and some stale muffins. A truly scary place. We also seemed to be the only guests hat didn't have tats all over our bodies. What was really scary was the altercation outside of our door AT 2:30 AM!!! " Ordinarily, I would open the door and yell for quiet but I have to admit that I was too scared. I had visions of being carried out on a stainless gurney. I would not have ventured out of my room unarmed. To make things worse, if it were possible, we had our kids with us. Do not stay at this place, even if they pay you. Run, do not walk, away from this dump as fast as you can. A real fright palace.

good place nothing fancy for a couple of night stay it's inexpensive & not too far away from the highway

I rely on reviews from other folks so I will leave one also.This motel is pretty dated, the major issues I had were lack of housekeeping,the hallways looked as though they ran a vacuum up the middle, because there was dirt and paper along the baseboards this was upon check in so they had already cleaned for the day, our room was around the back of the motel, the first thing i noticed was a pile of trash someone had left by the entrance door,by the way it was still there when we left the next morning at 1100 am checkout.there was left over food in the fridge from a previous guest. evidently house keeping didnt bother to look. the tv remote didnt work. you couldnt change the tv channels from the tv either they were frozen. the secutity lock on the main door was broken also. they have a 4pm check in and the pool closes at 9pm so we didnt get to use it, by the time we ate and got back it was closed. this was a sat night too! the furniture in the room is very dated as well.i guess you get what you pay for. i will say it was quiet the night we stayed. convient location right off of 81 plenty of places to eat neary by! this could be a decent place with a few changes. maybe a new housekeeping staff!

This was my first visit to WV and we were treated very well by the staff of the Rodeway Inn..Only issue was that there wasn't enough towels...The pool was indoor and very comfortable...Oh yeah.. the continental breakfast could have been a little better. But overall, everything was fine.
