We love this hotel. Convenient, mid town location. Easy to walk in all directions. We asked for a higher floor than the room originally assigned to us. They happily accommodated our request for the following nights of our stay. The only negative about the hotel is an annoying lack of free wi-fi in the rooms. This seems like an outdated practice not fitting with the rest of the amenities and service the hotel offers.

We were not at all satisfied with the first room offered to us since it reeked of fried food and didn't have a safe. We were denied a different room, even though it was barely check-in time, and were told the hotel was overbooked. We even asked to be downgraded, that request was denied as well. On the second day, we were finally offered a different room, but came back in the afternoon to find our room had been emptied, and we were stranded in the lobby until 3 o'clock. The reason was that the previous guests had left a terrible mess... The new room had a heating problem (couldn't be turned off), and an out of order phone. At least, we didn't see any bed bugs.

We booked the one bedroom suite and it was terrific for our needs. Didn't use the kitchen at all - but it was great to have friends over for wine and cheese before we went out to dinner. Close to many things and we would stay again. Manhattan is so easy to get around.

We chose the Affinia Dumont based on a previous stay. Centrally located, near a metro stop and surrounded by (relatively) inexpensive eateries it is a safe and pleasant place. Each room has a refrigerator and small kitchenette, especially helpful to store breakfast items, coffee, snacks, etc. You can get anything you need from a good, local market right down the street. Beds and heating/air conditioning controls are very comfortable and that is important to us. The hotel is safe, clean and staff is very friendly. Rooms are larger than most NYC hotels and there is a sitting area a very large desk and work area. The cleaning staff will go out of their way to see to your needs. There is a small workout room with treadmills and some other basic equipment, also a full-service massage and facial spa! This time there seemed to be a LOT of sirens, street noise and it was a bit interruptive. Use the ear plugs the hotel provides if you want to be ensured a quieter nights' sleep.

We were traveling with our teenage granddaughter. When we asked for an extra blanket for the sofa bed, we were told that they had none and they brought up three sheets instead,. Busy weekend but still! Otherwise, just fine. Expensive, but it was spring break and most of the hotels were equally outrageously priced. Great neighborhood.

the full kitchen was awesome-- and the full living room/separate bedroom were very convenient

Very nice, friendly staff, comfortable rooms. Only one thing that could be improved would be to offer internet service w/no charge. Would stay there again.

I loved it! The rooms are spacious and there was a kitchen which was great. The beds are oh so comfy and there's privacy.. All in all best hotel I have stayed in.. Kudos to hotel Affinia!!

Stayed 4 night during a recent NY trip. The room with the small kitchen came in handy for a family of 4. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

It is not always easy to find a nice hotel in large cities that accept pets, large pets... Our experience was really great: The room was of a very good size, extremely convenient, quiet, clean. It would have been ideal to have a little park or some green area close, but we were in Manhattan, so that is not necessarily easy to find. We did go to Central Park one day and our pet loved it. This was his first time in "the City" and he was totally exhausted the following day!

Pretty much what I expected. Excellent location 2 blks from no. 6 subway - easy travel uptown (Fifth AVE museums) or downtown. Plenty of dining options nearby including a plethora of Indian & Pakistani restaurants along Lexington between 26th & 30th (the area is nicknamed "Curry Hill" for obvious reasons). BONUS! Room w/ 2 queens exceptionally spacious for Manhattan. Mini kitchen handy w/ fridge, microwave & toaster though the lack of utensils would have made actual cooking (vs. reheating or minor prep) out of the question. Clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable beds. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The only thing that marred our 3 nt stay was a 5 AM wake up call that was intended for another room! I feel sorry for the person who didn't get their call.

Our stay at the Affinia Dumont was excellent. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are very clean and spacious. It was very nice to have a full kitchen as well. We could not have picked a better hotel.

This was my 3rd stay at the Affinia Dumont Hotel and once again it was top class. From the moment I set foot in the door, I was greeted with a smile from all the staff. Check-in was done within a mere 2 minutes. I had a south-facing room on the 16th floor. While not having a blockbuster view, the room was very clean, spacious and incredibly comfortable; perfect for what I needed. Rest assured that when I plan my next trip to NYC, The Affinia Dumont Hotel will be where I stay once again.

Booked two rooms for my family, overall a great experience. The only problem was the heat and the internet...both were broken. If those things were taken care of, it would have been perfect. Loved the neighborhood, close to the subway, but far enough from the tourists spots.

For the price paid for the room, it is best I have ever had for that area. The uptown 42nd Street Broadway hotels are not even close. The Dumont deserves the 4+ rating. I will always go back to it when I am in the Grand Central area.

This might be my favorite hotel in NYC to date. Great location, nice staff, and the rooms are great. Would definitely try to stay here again. I love that the rooms have a mini-kitchen and great beds.

The service and amenities were first rate and everything was as it should be. All the staff were friendly and helpful. My wife and I stayed for two nights in January and we were very happy with the quiet and the excellent condition of the rooms. The gym, kitchen in our room, the availability of a spa (with 20 percent discount for hotel guests) and a very nice restaurant/bar next door were all pluses.

The room with 2 Queen beds was large and comfortable for my husband and myself, as well as two teenage boys. It was very well maintained and quiet (we requested for a reduced noise room). The pillows were fabulous and gave us a very comfortable sleep. There were convenience stores and eateries surrounding the hotel, and we felt safe walking around at night. I will definitely choose to stay again when in Manhattan.

We do a lot of travel, one of the best experiences. Very clean, comfortable, great bed, lots of space. Peaceful. Every single employee was kind, ready to help, always smiling, happy and proud of their positions, I congratulate management for their ability to select the perfect people. The location is outstanding, secure area, it was my first time in this hotel, we usually go to more expensive hotels, but in the future, this is it ! Thank you

Great experience from the moment we arrived until we left. NYC is a "hard" weekend, the Affinia Dumont was a safe haven we could relax and rest in between our attacks on the cities and the Christmas crowds!

The hotel is tucked away and may not look amazing from the outside but once you step in everything is beautiful. The decor and ambiance is excellent and has a very clean look. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They accommodated our requests without hesitation. I would highly recommend staying there and would go back in an instant.

We were amazed at the size of our room. We had 2 adults and 2 children, and had plenty of room. Hotel staff was friendly and efficient. A great experience.

The room was a nice size, plenty of room for a family of four. Having a refrigerator was a definite plus.

We enjoyed our stay in the Affinia Dumont, the room was comfortable, the bathroom could have been a bit bigger, the bath was only half size, and the bath towels were not great, but otherwise it was lovely, and the staff were very nice and helpful. As with most hotels who charge for WiFi, the cost was absurd, and the service in the lobby was sporadic at best being the only place it was free. There was a Dunkin Donuts with free WiFi next door, which was a better bet. The location was convenient and it was a nice street. Would stay there again.

Great location close to subway (6) and midtown shopping. There are a number of good restaurants in the immediate vicinity, Viva, Artisanal, and Vezzo Pizza not to mention a selection of Deli's. The rooms are large and are kept clean with comfortable beds.
