Worst hotel period

I expected the room to be small based on the description, but it was not at all. The lounge on the second floor is nice. Room was clean. The hotel was in a great location. Overall I would say this hotel was a good find in the city and I would stay here again.

Very friendly staff. Good location for tourists. Safe neighborhood. Clean and spacious (for NYC) room.

For a European room size is enormous. Loved being able to stock the fridge with yogurt and juice for a reasonable breakfast. Loved the nearby huge choice of restaurants To explore at the end of each day. This was a home away from home!,

The hotel was beautiful. My boyfriend and I like to stay in hotels at least once a month just to get away. and this hotel was beautiful. Not too far from grand central. Everybody was nice and the room was super comfortable. I would def. stay again.

Kitchen slightly run down but great value --large room, great gym, friendly staff--- no bar or restaurant on a very cold week in NYC but tons of businesses in immediate area... I would stay again ....

Very nice place, clean room and close to shopping on 5th Avenue!

My stay at Affinia 50 Hotel was absolutely amazing. The staff are BEYOND professional and attentive. I felt like i was home! I'm very happy to say that I will return to Affinia 50 next time I'm around the NYC area. Thank you!

All good would like to have free internet access.

I thought the staff was the best thing about the Affinia 50. Every single person is friendly; they are obviously well trained in hospitality and have the right balance of making guests feel that they (staff) are there to help and yet respecting your privacy. The hotel is clean, quiet; the breakfast is delicious; the second floor lounge really comfortable with lots of couches and not too many loud TVs. My only suggestion is that the hotel work on its wi-fi. It's too slow, expensive and only free on the second floor.

I was fortunate enough to be upgraded to a suite and enjoyed the experience of having a "pied-a-terre" in my old neighborhood. Staff was charming and helpful. Location is terrific. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, and I loved having an equipped kitchen. Would definitely return and recommend to friends.

We really like the size of the rooms, but the the furniture is worn. It's really time for new furniture and carpeting. The heat was turned off in the hotel so our bedroom was cold. The bathroom needs more amenities. The towels did not smell fresh. The elevators run very slowly and people wait a long while. The phone cord was plugged into the wrong socket and didn't work. Most of the staff is very nice.The front desk would not give us our "Stash points" since we booked on a hotel web sight. I didn't know that made a difference. We stayed 3 nights. I would have done that differently had I known.

Great location for catching metro trains uptown to museums, downtown to theater and eastbound to airports. Staff is friendly and efficient. I especially appreciated the doorman who welcomed me every time I approached the door. The room was good-sized, with a lovely armchair and large desk. In-house breakfast buffet looked good, though I chose around-the-corner coffee house to get espresso beverages. I'd definitely return.

This is a wonderful hotel for a family holiday

The room was surprisingly large for the price. Employees very nice. Biggest and only complaint was the air conditioner in the bedroom would only blow heat my room was 80 degrees on the thermostat nothing would turn it off

I loved the hotel! It was in a great location. Our room was very clean and comfortable! It was just far enough away from the crazy hustle that it was quiet but close enough to walk to everything you wanted to see!!

First of all, the Affinia chains have some of the largest rooms in nyc without the premium price. For a small fee,you can upgrade to a junior suite or one bedroom suite upon checkin if they are avail. I highly highly recommend atleast doing the junior suite...they are huge and have a full kitchen. I have stayed several times at this hotel and dumount and have no qualms about going back. They have a great continental breakfast in the am, elevators are fast, service is great and location is convenient.

The hotel was one of the few that allowed 6 people in a room which was nice, two rooms would have busted the budget. The room was okay with the exception of the bathroom. I couldnt believe at this price WIFI and continental breakfast were not included. And the elevators were a complete disaster. Prepare to walk the stairs. Ours was eight floors worth. The location was great with plenty of places to eat nearby and subway close as well.

The hotel room was small, which is typical of most NY hotels. It is contemporary and the staff was friendly. The walls are a little thin though. The location is prime walking distance to Park and Madison Avenue. Times Square is only a short walk away. Nice place overall.

Our family stay was excellent. All 16 of us in 5 rooms! Rooms are large and comfortable, and very reasonably priced; the service was friendly; and the location was great for our sightseeing.

I enjoyed the stay and the staff. Room was spacious, however the climate control wasn't working so I was a bit cold most of the time. Internet service was spotty at times and housekeeping left me without a duvee cover one night.

Only issue was the A/C controls didn't work and it was a bit hot in the room. Besides the A/C, I thought it was great. The employees were very friendly and extremely helpful. I would recommend it!

Nothing bad to say... Loved NYC and Affinia was a great hotel in a great location. Wish we would've stayed longer!

The first comment i would like to make is about the service. everyone was very helpful and very nice. The lobby is small but who needs to sit in the lobby. They have the second floor set up as a "hang out" spot which is nice. the hallways are a bit dated and small along with the elevators. The room was large for New York City and very clean and comfortable. I would defiantly stay here again and would recommend it to friends.

I just don't have anything negative to say about Affinia 50. It was attractive, comfortable, great bed, great staff, and a spacious room by NYC standards. I'll definitely be back.

Very cozy & they thought of everything in this suite except microwave a little too old.

Unable to change the temperature in the room, bedroom was set at 60 degrees and stayed there no matter what changes we made to the thermostat. Stair wells had dirty dishes and linen outside the doors for up to 2 days. A bit smelly.

It was close to everything my family wanted to see. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was pleasantly decorated. The bed was comfortable. The only negative was some of the maintainance things like the sofe bed mattress was torn and worn and the bathroom wall paper was peeling.

The location on 3rd and 50th is excellent. Many of the Midtown sights can be reached by foot or you can take the subway on 51st. The one bedroom apartment was spacious but a little dated. The only downside was the lack of free wifi in the room.

A no smoking hotel, had ashes and burns marks in the bathroom

My wife and I were well satisfied in our recent five-day stay. Common room with wireless wi/fi, complimentary newspapers and excellent coffee especially appealing for early risers like me. Staff eager to please. Location easy homebase for many city activities. Will return.
