Staff Excellent. Facilities Good.Perfect spot to stay for a Cup night stopover.Swimming pool but no gym.

We found the hotel very convenient, cheerful staff, good quality.

There was condensation on the window causing damp patches around the window. Fire door banged.

Hotel was adequate, not the best and not the worst, one point is not to be deceived by the amazing photos of the house, the only chance you have to see this is as you turn left into the car park (the hotel is a separate building with no access to it)

There isn't a closer hotel for the Harry Potter Studio tour; it’s about 5 minute drive twenty min walk. The prices of the hotel food are not to bad but because of the drink prices we decided not to eat there. The price of wine/alcohol was ridiculous! So our nice dinner and drinks at the hotel idea was thrown out the window. We drove around and googled restaurants near Watford about ten min away from the hotel we found a Harvester which we ate at and was amazing. There was also a Frankie and Benny’s, TGI Fridays and more! Shame we couldn’t drink though as we had to drive. Hotel was ok as it was dirt-cheap but we wouldn’t of paid any more than we did for it. But if you want somewhere you can chill in the evening with drinks and a nice meal go somewhere else.

The hotel is located very conveniently off the M1 and very near to Luton Airport. I found it a good overnight stopover during a cross-country business trip. A beautiful country manor that has been part-converted, offering comfortable well decorated rooms and a bar and restaurant that offers good snacks and meals and excellent service. Would recommend and look forward to my next stay.

This hotel is just the job if you need an overnight stay in the area, for business or a social stop. The main body of the hotel is a grand older building, with the majority of accomodation housed in a fairly new annex, connected to the main hotel. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable; if a little on the small side. Once you're out of your bed, you're either at the desk or in the bathroom, which again is modern and clean with a decent enough size bath. I had breakfast in the morning, which was standard hotel fare, certainly nothing to complain about. Business-wise, the location is excellent, just a couple of minutes from the M25/A41. If you arrive at night, be aware that the hotel sign and driveway is not very well lit (I missed the turning on my first pass!)

The actual hall and location is beautiful. If you are staying in the hotel it is a modern bolt on building next to the old hall. The pool was ok but the changing rooms were not very good. They weren't very clean and there was water all over the floor, probably because the shower curtains were broke. If you need a good, clan nights sleep, this is your place. Great location close to the M25

The actual accommodation is in a very plain cheaply built brick annex. You don't actually stay or even enter into the main house area (which is what all the photos show). Poor sound proofing and poor sound limiting as a well. They should put up signs like Premier Inn do - asking guests to be quiet in corridors and when opening/closing doors.

The place is wicked nice an quiet an peaceful. Room was very very small though. Staff are really polite. The only downfall is u have to check out at 10:00am which was a bummer. From my knowledge I've always check out at 12:00pm in every hotel if stayed in..... And the wifi was very bad in my room in the lobby it was perfect.

The room was well appointed for a business user; good light and working surface.

Comfortable and very quiet, although not many people staying there Dec. 25. Good food from bar. Nice to have covered walkway to our rooms. Attractive facility, nice grounds.

The hotel was convenient for the Harry Potter studio tour.

Great location just of the M25 and A41, perfect for North London destinations.Rooms are very compact but apart from that everything else is well above average. Super comfortable Bed, clean and well maintained room, great shower, nice Bar and food offering, what more do you need for an overnight whilst working in the North London area. I will be using this Hotel again and would surgest you do the same.Well done to all involved.P.S Great value

An excellent venue, very relaxed and ideal for our stopover on the way home from Heathrow airport. Conveniently situated just off the M25 motorway. The quality of the rooms and service typified what we've come to expect from the De Vere's group. would recommend it to anyone.

Staff kind and helpful. Everything we needed. No fuss.

Enjoyed our two night stay in this hotel. It was handy for us as we were visiting friends in nearby Watford. The swimming pool was great - though the changing rooms were a bit small and were for both men and women - so we got changed in our room before going to the pool

We arrived very late at night so didn't really have much time here but what we did experience we enjoyed the breakfast really nice.

excellent but no AC in the rooms in the summer made it uncomfortable

A nice hotel with a grand entrance. Very clean, quiet and comfortable with a nice view. Very good value for money. Helpful staff.

Near to Warner bros Studio Tour. Within walking distance. Staff very helpfull. Good quality meals. Very nice grounds

It is clean and nice, but not suitable for people who don't have a car

This hotel is not bad and it is clean. It is far from town centre, but near Warner Brother studio. It is good for people who have a car.

Nice setting but average room for price which was quite small with no armchair. Breakfast buffet was £10.50 each and quite good with plenty of bacon etc but limited fruit salad and only fried eggs. Cheeper than Hiltons breakfast but not as good. Free tea and coffee with biscuits hidden near bar which was nice.

We stayed here to visit the Harry Potter sets. The hotel was close, but I wouldn't have fancied walking there! Hotel was lovely. Some confusion on arrival after booking through hotels.com - 4 rooms instead of 2! Receptionist was helpful though. Kids enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was quite pricey at £10.50 pp. Rooms were nicely decorated and clean although on the small side. Staff were pleasant and helpful throughout even though they were busy with 2 weddings.

We stayed here for the Harry potter studio tour which is situated just around the corner! The hotel was extremely comfortable set in wonderful surroundings with wonderful staff and food. We would stay again

This hotel was very comfortable, with a lovely bed and ample pillows, a lovely en suite and a LCD TV with Freeview. For the purposes of an overnight stop en route to London it was perfect, but the room was on the small side. I would imagine perhaps too small if you're planning to stay there for any longer than overnight, or a couple of nights. Would gladly stay again for short stops though!

Room No. 1. Other hotel guests made a lot of noise after midnight. Room door rattled with the slightest breeze in the corridor. All doors slamed shut if left to their own device. Result - poor nights sleep!

Our Cricket Club Annual Dinner Dance was excellent in the Marquee, However it wasnt until we went to bed that the problems started, the people occupying the next room to us were shouting, laughing and banging about the whole night, I did complain to reception the next morning but obviously couldn't do anything about it after the event.

I only stayed for one night as I was meeting friends in Watford. The room was comfortable, and the staff very helpful.

Traveled from Ireland for a meeting in Hemel Hemstead, so found this hotel through a search on this website. I'd stayed at the De Vere in Southampton previously and thought there must be some kind of catch with the rate being so low ......didn't know at the time that this was a low-cost range of hotels from De Vere. Nonetheless, for the money you pay I don't think you'll find anything better. Nice contemporary room, spotlessly clean, very friendly and helpful staff and the little things made a lot of difference - well provisioned room, free coffee/snack area, lovely breakfast, etc. As others have said the rooms aren't the largest and the whole place can get a bit warm ....although I was there on the hottest in London for decades so I'm guessing everywhere was 'a bit warm'. Happy to recommend to others - great low-cost product that leads the way in this sector.

This was a very short stay - one night - but I was really impressed by the beautiful surroundings. I've paid money to go into gardens as big and well cared for as this. The hotel would be perfect for a business function or a wedding but on this occasion was perfect for winding down after a very stressful few days.

Lovely location just off the M25, we only had an overnight stay but the hotel was clean, staff friendly and approachable and we enjoyed a swim in the pool in the morning. It was great value and I would recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our one night stay, but there were one or two things that could have been improved. The receptionist was unfriendly, and actually appeared to think she was doing us a favour. Things improved rapidly when we got to our room. It was comfy and spotless. The swimming pool was freezing, and the jacuzzi was out of order. The bar staff were absolutley wonderful, and so was the receptionist on duty later in the evening.

We (my fiancee and I ) stayed for a two night break and thoroughly enjoyed our stay the hotel was clean friendly and food was lovely. The pool was warm and clean and we were fotrunate to have swam at a quiet period as it is small but very nice al the same.The grounds are well maintained and we were greated in a professional yet warm way by the staff. It was lovely to receive clean towels daily which were left by the door as we had put the please do not disturb sign on and our request was caterered for. We have already recommended Du Veres to friends and look forward to staying again soon!
