Yorktown Motor Lodge - יורקטאון

Booked here because it advertised newly remodeled rooms which was not the case. First room they put us in was NASTY..the floor was filthy, the older television did not work and the commode was broke. Second room was a little better but not much. We did not expect the quality of a Marriott but we did expect something clean and decent which was not the case. I would not recommend this place to anyone!! Someone should really do something about them saying on their website the rooms are newly remodeled because both rooms we were in had not been repainted in years much less any other thing remodeled!!

Arrived and our reservation was not correct. Booked King size bed w/smoking. Got 2 Queen smoking. Had to settle for King non smoking. One of the lights electrical cord was broken, no plug. TV didn't work properly. several fixtures in bathroom were broken. Continental breakfast was non existent. Thank god we only stayed two days!

everything was fine. no problems, room was exactly as described.... was it the hilton..?no...but if you're looking for a place to stay for a good price, ain't nothing wrong with the lodge

Very convienient to our relatives in Yorktown. Price was very affordable and the room was clean and comfortable. The king size bed was just right for the two of us. Our room was small but suited our needs. The housekeeping staff was friendly and did a good job of maintaining our room We will stay there again in the future. Thank You to the staff: Ron

Booked for 3 nights. Checked in, went to our room, looked at the bed (stained) the bathroom was awful (I would not bathe my DOG in that tub, old, run down, just awful, immediately booked a room at nearby Microtel (cheaper and clean)! Dropped my keys at the front desk and left!

Older but well maintained property. Especially convenient to Yorktown and Williamsburg at a rate not reflective of the "tourist traps" Constantly being improved/redone.

POSITIVES: good water pressure, beds were fairly comfortable, a/c worked really well. NEGATIVES: Telephone did not work I had to use my cell phone to call front desk, TV remote did not work, It only went up on the channels, could not change channels by hitting the numbers, there was virtually no internet as promised, We got as far as google after about 5 minutes then could not get to any requested websites. The room smelled really bad from the minute we walked in. I went to the front desk to let them know and the girl who works there could not reach anyone to tell her what to do. She finally got some kind of spray and came and sprayed all the carpet. she said it had recently been cleaned. It smelled like mildew. the spray helped till we left the room, When we returned it stunk again. We got some febreeze to tolerate it while we were there. The only other room available was a smoking room, and we could not take those rooms. all in all, we were very unhappy with this hotel. I seriously need to be undated. It reminded us of a hotel room to be rented by the hour.

this place was terrible,the evening sign in lady and the pool was nice, but first of all the non-smoking rooms are inconvieniently especially when handicapped since there are several steps.The room was dirty, the sheets were dirty,the bathroom was dirty in addition two towels for four people.There was no key available for the room that worked so we were told to leave the door open(was told we are a tight community, no one would mess with our room), yeah right I thought so we didn't go away that evening. Breakfast was cereal one type only that's it. I don't recommend this place and don't never want to stay there again.

it's worst hotel. very dirty and smell. it was nightmare

My husband and I spent just one day at this place. I knew it was not going to be a four or five star hotel but the location was perfect and the price was reasonable. Also, the day was extremely hot, so we enjoyed its swimming pool. The Lodge would need a good upgrade, but the bed was comfortable and everything in the bathroom worked well (which is very important for me!). However, two things bothered me the most: one was a bad smell in the room (VERY BAD), and the other was that the Lodge advertises breakfast, when in reality they provide just complementary coffee and muffin, or some cereal with milk. I feel that they are not honest with their guests. In summary, the location was great, the room was comfortable but smelly, the swimming pool was a plus, and the advertised breakfast was a joke.

The motel was clean and neat and close to the Coast Guard Training Center. A good affordable motel. Nothing fancy or deluxe but very adequate for a quick visit.

Great. It met all of my needs.

The location was very convenient for us and the Yorktown was a very good value.

Arrived for a late check in, guy at window was nice enough, clean room, very soft towels, but bed was hard and uncomfortable. Stayed for one night, had an interview early the next morning, was fine until a family checked in at 3:30 am, not sure if they were extremely loud or if walls were very thin, but heard everything, had to call the desk (after minutes of ringing) to ask them to quiet down, made for a very hard day after that.

Due to the economy they cancelled their continental breakfast which was discouraging since that was one major factor on why I chose the hotel. However, they did go out and put in my room orange juice, bananas, apples and donuts which was greatly appreciated.

Great location. Handy motel rooms open out individually to your car. (Ice costs $.25 bucket - economic hard times) but close to Jamestown, Yorktown, Va Beach, Newport News, etc. Great place to stay at good price to see the area.

Clean rooms,centrally located for my business needs.Not a 5 star hotel with all the amenities but a clean,functional motel with a good price.Manager very friendly and helpful.I would stay there again.

No bells and whistle, but for the money it was perfect. The beds were like sleeping on the floor, no cushion what so ever.......

This was an older building. The room had an odor . the carpet was stained in spots. Sheets were yellow but not sure if this was the color they were suppose to be. The bath mat was dirty and you could not reach the toilet paper while seated on the stool. The room needed a deep cleaning. The staff was friendly. Only stayed here one night here and then went to a chain hotel a few miles away. which was cleaner and cost less.

They always had someone on duty which was nice, and the staff was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel.

The beds slept very comfortably, the bathroom was spacious and look like it had been recently remodeled. It was quiet. It is very near interstate access, a library, a Walmart, and a large city park with golf course and real deer on the course. That is all the good things. Unfortunately the hotel supposedly had a group on contractors from another state on the premises during our stay. During our five day stay on at least four occassions the contractors had a habit of 'stalking' a female family member and myself. When it was reported to management, they downplayed it and said they would look into it. Management said that the contractors were 'bored' because they were unable to work due to rainy weather conditions. When bored, that is what a television set or a trip to the mall is for. I was disappointed with their action concerning the matter and their response to our concern. The contractors had several rooms on the premises so obviously money speaks louder than one's concerns or comfort.

Be advised that this hotel is not up to date on the American's with disabilities act. At first they refused to allow my dog then wanted to charge me extra for her. She is a working dog and has papers to that affect. I was told by front desk person that the hotel explicitly does not accept "pets" Even after presenting them with a website provided by the government they still gave me a hard time. There was also a permenant resident right next door to me, that complained about my dog to the office and verbally assaulted me. I was quite dissatisfied with the whole experience. I was uncomfortable knowing that people with open propane tanks next to the building lived there. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone with a disability.

Was not happy at all. Poor motel, not very clean bathroom, old equipment, not very good beds. Just soap was provided. Good features - not far away from historic Williamsburg and Yorktown, good price.

The hotel is in a nice location surronding supermarkets and a variety of Restaurants. I really thought that I was getting in a nice hotel judging from previous reviews. I think that very conservative customers with low expectations posted those reviews because I found this hotel substandard and just a small upgrade from the lowest grade motel in the area. The first problem was the smell when I entered my non smoking room. It had a musty smell to it and was probably caused by the humidity and the unclean floors of the hotel. The room actually appeared clean at first glance but it was aparent that they do not run carpet cleaners over thier rugs and a few minutes later my white socks were completely black from the floor carpet. The "made" king size bed was nice in size but I felt that it was rather hard and I woke up to an acking back (im only 30). My TV worked fine but my inlaws next door had a non functional TV and was accused of damaging the TV because they did not inform the manager right away from entering the hotel. I really got upset when I entered my room on my second day there and noticed that the blankets were placed back on the bed without cleaning or replacing the sheets. I know this because my child left cookie crumbs on the bed and they were still there when I arrived! the shower curtains were old and needed to be replaced, the black stains on the bottom of the curtain is a good indication of needing to be replaced. Breakfast is a joke; it is two cereal boxes with a pitcher of milk... the end The pool,fridge, and microwave is a nice feature

I really can't recommend this to anyone. It is very dirty, walking on the carpet bare footed left my kids with black feet. Holes all over the walls and Bathroom. The bathtub was black in the bottom. Our sheets and Covers had stains everywhere. The room smelled moldy and old. Our TV wasn't working and the Manager blamed us for it. Breakfast was coffee, muffins, cereal and milk only. So if you would like to spend as little as possible and you don't care about the things I mentioned above stay here. If you do care spend a bit more and save you from headaches.

Loved it....close to Williamsburg, and Historical Downtown Yorktown...Loved the Peacemaker....Would definately stay again...

We got a great deal on this room and the reviews weren't too bad so I chose this hotel. The staff was friendly, the neighborhood was fine, the location was convenient, the beds were fine, there is a microwave and fridge in the room, there was good cereal for breakfast, and free wireless internet. However, I won't stay here again because the room was just not very clean. There was hair in the shower, the bath mat was wet, there was food in the fridge from the people before, and the bedding had stains. So for these reasons, I will pay the extra $20 a night or so to have a cleaner hotel. But I definitely feel we still got a good deal.
