The rooms were great for the price. The staff was very polite and friendly. Would recommended and stay again!!

If you need a cheap hotel near the city, this seems like a great fit. $15 taxi ride to the stats theater, that'll keep you out of jail. The place is cheap and not bad for one night. The rooms are small and don't have a pull out couch, and it was a struggle to fit a cot, which cost $10. There is a nice balcony on the second floor for smokers.

Room was clean, the breakfast was less than expected for the price, the people were nice. I guess the only thing bad was the breakfast, we had to go eat elsewhere.

We needed a place to sleep and shower near the highway. The rooms were comfortable and clean...and a great price.

The good points. The room was clean. The staff was professional and helpful. The location was handy to buslines and the maine mall across the street. The not so good were..first morning waking up. no power. cold room. power was back about an hour after. no bath towels. That night. People above me partying , slamming things, stomping on floor above until 3 am. I realized a lot of people here are 'weeklies' when I say weekly rate posted on door. I felt too afraid to call management as I am woman traveling alone. Its a good thing I didnt call because the next morning I realized the room phones were not working! Maids were loud and noisy from 10 til 2 pm ..the good thing though is that my do not disturb sign was respected and no one knocked on my door or worse came barging in. Next time I will pay a little more and go to another motel.

Nothing really wrong with the hotel, you get what you pay for... and we didn't pay much. The one issue with our room was the smell. I realize they have a no smoking policy in place, but it can't be too strictly enforced. The stale cigarette smell was nauseating and hard to overcome.

The hotel was close to food, shopping and the meeting venue.

We always choose this hotel.... good room for the price. Clean.Only issue seems to be the tv... either the guests screw with the remote but always issue.

I was relieved to see our room after all the bad reviews. No cigarette smell, nice and clean, was able to relax and enjoy the surrounding shopping and restaurants. Definitely will stay here again!

Overall facility is worth the price paid. Though some fixtures old, they are clean. Breakfast had more choices than expected. Walking distance to major malls. Bed was quite comfortable, ample space to more around.

Comfortable, convient for our purpose. Expensive for a basic hotel but late booking, time of season and location explains that.

Minor repair issues; shower wasn't strong enough to rinse hair; breakfast selection was minimal. Hotel staff friendly and helpful.

We were very surprised to see that the photo posted on the website does NOT reflect the actual appearance, where is that one located?? The office area is not one one on the web site either. The rooms are run down and shabby but we were able to sleep in relative cleanliness. The tub drain was an issue in one of the rooms our travelling companions were in and our tub was scarred and there was a used bar of soap and shampoo container left from the previous occupants. The mustiness was overcome by running the air conditioner. The breakfast was poor with a choice of Frosted Flakes and stale Raisin Bran as well as bagels, and pre cello packed pastries and skim milk, even for the coffee. No jam, just butter and cream cheese. The ice machine and printer were both broken. We ended up with having to take a photo of the computer screen to show at the Canadian border if needed to prove our length of stay. Our good comments were that the staff were very pleasant and the location is prime. Will we stay there again? NEVER!!

Slept well- quiet area and comfy bed. I had an early morning flight, so it was really easy to stay here since it's so close to the airport. They have a shuttle bus and you can leave your car there if you're flying out of town on a trip.

room had refrigerator, although not turned on? light over sink did not work - had to place floor lamp in area for lighting. front desk responded quickly to concerns, one addressed, one not.

It wasn't bad the room was small but comfty they say they serve breakfast but its first come first serve with the bagels the coffee cam out so slow then tasted bad but hey they person who was working may not know how to make coffee

The place is great for economy for sure. The room was spotless. No alarm clocks so it was an issue to wake up and go to a light to see my watch. Dont rely on wake up calls anywhere. This is the 3rd time we stayed there and with 3 different desk clerks....not overly friendly. That kind of bums me. COntinental breakfast is packaged muffins or danish but the coffee is good and bagels too. Not much else to write about with breakfast. Bare mininum but its economy.

Great location. This was my 2nd stay here. The hotel was clean and very nice for the price. My only complaint with the room was the fan in the bathroom was very noisy. I think they were short handed as the front desk person seemed to be doing everything herself and was very abrupt yet polite. Will definitely stay here again.

I was surprised at the excellent value for the price. The room was spotless and had all the extras I needed. The staff was friendly. My only complaint was the Sunday morning 4:30 am wake up call that I didn't request. Maybe they called the wrong room in error.

The Room was beautiful. Very clean. Friendly staff. I would DEFINITELY stay here again! You get so much for your money!!

We stayed in this hotel 3 times in the past two months. Each time the room was spotless. Sadly, each stay the tv remote was not properly functioning and I relate that to other renters, not the hotel. One time the sink drain was not able to drain quickly but no big deal. The shower had ample hot water. It is a good stay for the price. We will continue to use this hotel when in this area which will be many times a year. We find it quite fine for what it is suppossed to be.

They triple billed me.

The only thing pleasant about the hotel was the staff (the cleaning staff). The hotel was very shabby and a very unpleasant experience. There were stains on the carpets, the toilet was not secured to the floor and rocked, the flushing mechanism was broke and and would continue to run, the sink was broke and would leak, the shelving to hang close case off the wall and unusable. the air conditioning was broke and therefore would come on randomly (either freezing you out or making you sweat), the microwave was broke and couldn't be used for fear of setting the room on fire, the drawers had a foul noxious odor (somewhere between horrible body odor and roadkill), the rolling chair had nasty stains all over it, the door to the room was all rusted out and pulled away like someone had previously tried to break in. And finally, there was poor drainage in the bath tub. All in all it was a very unpleasant experience.

For a quick stop to sleep and move on it was great. Would I want to stay for a long period of time? It was your average hotel. It was clean and did the job.

Needed a hotel near the airport on a Friday night--didn't anticipate the entire city of Portland would be sold out. Found a room at the Econolodge--can't imagine anyone CHOOSING this hotel rather, like me, got stuck there as last resort. Confirmed reservation for non-smoking room. Was told by desk clerk, "only smoking rooms available, take it or leave it". Cheaply built, poorly maintained, poor service, and priced like a 4 star. Hmmm...thinking of something good to say...it did have running water.

Rooms not maintained, not very clean

We were only staying one night. Room was clean, no odor, with the usual continental breakfast. Nice staff. Only complaint was the toilet in the bathroom. It wasn't bolted to the floor and it kept running all night. Had to turn off the water connected to the toilet. Didn't complain to front desk only because we were only staying for one night and didn't really want to move to another room. It was already late in the night. Overall - clean and the price was the cheapest in the area.

My family & I decided to spend our last night in Maine at this hotel to save a few bucks over the other hotels closer to Portland airport so we wouldn't have to drive 2hrs from Bucksport for our 6:00am flight. When we arrived the room must have just recenly been cleaned because the trash was still stacked outside the room's door (where it was when we left). We set the a/c to cool the room while we were gone to finish some shopping. When we came back the room was still warm and the a/c was not cooling at all. I called the front desk and asked for a new room because the a/c wasn't working. The man at the front desk chuckled and said that to make the a/c work I had to turn it all the way to heat then back to cool and it would start. I did, but it didn/t work and in the middle of the night we woke up sweating in our beds. Horrible customer service and a lazy front desk resulted in a miserable night when we needed our rest to leave EARLY the next morning.
